For the Brave And Adventurous! Sleep and relax in an 19’ Tipi with wood floor, very comfortable double bed for two. There is also a love seat that folds down into a twin bed.
I lived in the Tipi for a couple of summers, & I stayed warm, dry, and very comfortable, even in the most wicked of rain and wind storms.
For your convenience, a kitchen gazebo which houses a stove, cooking supplies, french press for making coffee, silverware, plates, mugs and bowls. Microwave, fridge, a place to do dishes.
Off to the side of the kitchen is an additional spot to relax with lounge chairs and umbrella.
The latrine has a compostable toilet, a sink with hot h20. And last but not least, a shower with hot h20.
The Tipi is located on the edge of the small town of Gallatin Gateway, A mere 1/2 block from the Gallatin River. Although it's located in town, it's quite private with a fence that separates the house from the Tipi. The Tipi is very private and cozy. Simply a great stay at a great price.
The physical address is 188 Lynde St. Gallatin Gateway.

Never slept better! If you like the outdoors, the early morning shower with the cotton candy sky is now a core memory of mine. Highly recommend if you’re in the area for a night or two!

This is a unique and magical experience to sleep in a tipi. Area was safe and cleanly. Property owner was very communicative and supportive.
Cool experience! Not for the hotel camper type. Very dark at night. Could see the milky way with your naked eye

Gwen was an excellent host who helped out during a freak rainstorm. Outdoor kitchen has all the tools you need, the bathroom is clean and easy to access. Outdoor shower is well blocked from sight and has hot/cold water, and the solar lights make it easy to navigated around at night. This is fancy glamping but don't forget you are camping. We enjoyed waking up to our neighborly rabbit.

First timer
Entire process was much easier than I anticipated with no apparent need to check in once I arrived. The only issue I had was when I tried to contact the owner, and the number I called went to her daughter (possibly forwarded due to her being unavailable at the time)

The day before Joe arrived I sent him a detailed description of getting to the site and how to use all the amenities. I do that for everyone.

Host didn’t contact us for location.. there’s likely a reason no address is given. The dirty teepee is located in the front yard of a ragged cramped property right off the street which consists of of old ragged houses and trailers. Not what you’d expect from the photos. There was a dead fly in the bowl in the kitchen tebt, etc. the grass was not cut. Of course it was 90 degrees that day, and the inside of them teepee was close to 100, which isn’t the fault of the host. I was hoping for a Montana experience in a teepee, but it was more like staying in a tent in the small front yard of a trailer park. Glad we had our side arms with us, it is not a safe area. For the price it was terrible.
Very cute and fun spot with all the amenities we needed. Only regrets: our quick over night was too short, we didn't get to use the adorable outdoor shower, and we didn't have our kiddos to appreciate the glamping!
This was such fun place to stay. Loved the outdoor shower! It was perfect after a long day on the motorcycle. We were able to walk to Stacey’s for a steak and return to enjoy the fire pit. Definitely would recommend!
This was a very fun and adventurous night with my son and I. I intend on doing something like this again. We had a grand adventure with each other in the Teepee.

The property was fun, quirky, and comfortable. The bedding kept us super warm at night. You could hear neighbors in the evening but otherwise it felt private.
I slept well and was warm. Only real issue was no coffee.

The property went beyond our expectations for a very rustic place. Everything was well placed and met all our needs. The rustic view added to its charm. Everything was clean and comfortable. It was a unique experience that made really made the first day of our trip special. My only regret about this place is that we could only stay here for one night. If we ever have the opportunity to come here again, we would like to spend several days.
This place was magical! Super unique experience sleeping in a teepee. The property was well maintained and cute. The little kitchen worked great. Very cool experience!
This was our second stay here and it was just as amazing as the first time! We enjoyed every aspect of this cute and comfortable set up that was perfect for a summer night. The property owners are super nice and easy to communicate with. The outdoor shower and kitchen area are perfect for cooling off and relaxing. Pricing was exceptional. Thank you so much for another great adventure!
Beautiful setting! Very clean! Enjoyed my stay immensely

A delightful adventure to overnight in a tipi with a cozy bed. The outdoor shower worked great, as did the adjacent latrine "shack" with toilet and sink. The cooking gazebo was fully functional too!
We were so glad we stayed in this teepee/tent. Such a fun, cool memory!!
This property had everything. A large tent, comfortable bed and electric. There is also a separate canopy set up for your kitchen needs, also a shower and a private bathroom. You can walk a short distance to restaurants/bar, which we did and had a blast with the local ppl there! Also the river is right there so my husband took advantage of that and did some fly fishing. We would definitely recommend this property!
Communication with property owner was seamless and the property had all the amenities that you would need to have a comfortable stay. The property was clean and all in all was a very enjoyable place.
This is a nice spot for an in-between stay. We got into Bozeman and just needed a spot for a few hours until we had to continue our journey. Just reference for future travelers, the bed is a full size. My husband and I were sleeping pretty close to eachother, so if you need space, you may want to consider that. The bathroom outhouse has a compost toilet with poo powder into a bag, no light in the outhouse. It does have running hot and cold water in the sink. There is an outhouse shower area that has some walls built around it, the water didn't really get too hot and I was in and out realllly quick because it was windy and I felt a little exposed. There is a kitchen tent with a mini fridge and a portable stove burner. This is legit in someones back yard, next to the driveway.
All in all it was a nice stay for a night in transit. Thanks for hosting us!
We had a wonderful stay, we got in later than planned and were pleased there was a cute bar close enough to walk to! We enjoyed the stay and the bathroom and shower were also so funky and fun.

About the host
Hosted by Gwen Allen
I grew up in Bozeman Mt. Kindergarten through university, I have also lived in Kalispell Mt., birthplace of my oldest daughter. I spent 4 glorious years in Paradise Valley Mt. and also resided in Castle Rock Colorado where my other two children were born. I love spending time close to nature, so I set this Tipi up this summer and lived in it myself all summer. I am now residing in my house and sharing the Tipi experience with you!
Why they chose this property
I moved to Gallatin Gateway because I just wanted to live a less hectic life, and living just outside of the Bozeman donut has provided me with a quiet country living yet close to city life. The property is located on an acre of land so I have plenty of space for a house and Tipi living . The Tipi, gazebo and compostable toilet is private and is separated from the house by trees and distance.
What makes this property unique
I love the space and freedom this area allows. There are two tipis on the acreage , horses next door and the night time sky is incredible. You can even hear the Gallatin River from the TiPi, which is just yards away. A short walk will take you to the river, great food and entertainment, biking and walking around this quiet, community is really special, and quite private.
