Had some issues with bugs and cleanness, but the location is great. Couldn’t get up the driveway with a highlander:( Also the porch sliding door doesn’t lock, toaster doesn’t work, and lost all internet for the last day and a half before we left.

Hi Michelle, the homeowner has asked us to share this response:
- Being in the mountains is a nature adventure for sure! While there, you will experience winding, steep, curvy roads, driveways, and bugs.
- I do not own a four-wheel-drive vehicle, and I have no issues getting up the driveway, but I am sorry that you struggled with it. Although I recommend 4WD during the winter months, it is not necessary when the snow season is over. I also include easier driving directions in the pre-stay info that gives you a straight shot up the driveway with no problem.
- The things I can control I would have been glad to handle for you during your stay, like calling the internet service provider to see how we could troubleshoot. I always encourage guests to let me know about any concerns.
- We have some of the best cleaners in Beech Mountain! If it was not cleaned to your satisfaction, reaching out to me to remedy the issue would have been great. With COVID still here, we want to make sure cleanliness is guaranteed. You certainly need to be satisfied with how clean things are during your stay.
Again, thank you so much for choosing to stay at The Birds Eye View, and we hope you come again!
We took a trip with another couple to enjoy the Fall leaves and an App State game. The cabin was just as pictures in listing. There were both bath and dish towels so they may want to correct that in listing. Kitchen supplies were the bare basics. Only suggestions would be to have a hair drier and garbage bags (none in can when we arrived) as they are both usually supplied at most VRBO homes we have stayed at in the past.
We arrived New Years Day for the week. The cabin was very clean. There were a lot of stairs as described in the description however the stairs were iced over which made unloading and getting everything into the cabin tricky. Once we were all unpacked we had a wonderful time. We had deer on the property daily and the proximity to Beech Mountain Ski Slopes was wonderful. The property had lots of board games on site which the kids really enjoyed. The washer and dryer were a great asset to dry our clothes after a day at the slopes. Unfortunately we had to leave a day early because the forecast was calling for very poor weather and being from Florida we weren't comfortable driving on icy roads. We did try to reach out to the direct property manager multiple times without a response. Evolve responded but they directed us to contact the property manager for our question and that was unsuccessful. Overall it was a great stay and our family had a wonderful time!
What a cute cabin! As soon as we walked in, we were all smiles. It was very clean, and had everything we needed as far as dishware, cookware, sheets & towels, toilet paper & paper towels. The wifi worked great for streaming 3-4 devices at a time and there were a few cable channels provided. We had to contact the property manager Tara about the internet going out, and she responded quickly with a call and email that the service provider was working on it in the area and that it would be back on by noon. **The driveway was fine, its the mountains!** If you don't have 4 wheel drive, you can park on the lower ½ of the driveway and walk a few extra feet. Its no worse than any other driveway we saw in the area. The street was quiet, and the home was very private with wooded areas on 3 sides. We even saw many deer walking through right out the window. The views out the front of far off mountains were wonderful. This house is about 10 minutes deeper into the mountain past Beech Mountain Ski area. I would like to point out that the house has sufficient heat sources. It was 15 degrees one night we were there and I was sleeping in my underwear we were so warm . There is gas heat, heat panels with thermostats upstairs and downstairs, and the owner has provided electric heaters which we didn't even need. We loved it, we had no complaints and we would definitely stay here again if going to Beech.

Amazing
It was absolutely AMAZING! Such a beautiful cabin, so cozy! Very clean. Even the wildlife animals were friendly. It was my first time in the mountains, but it was not my last. I will be returning, and I will be staying at Birdseye. Thank you for an experience of a lifetime.. ☑️ of my bucket list.
This warm and inviting log cabin, surrounded by trees, just embraces and welcomes you and is an ideal get away. It has all the comforts you need and you find very quickly that it feels like home. The fresh mountain air invigorates you and restores your zest for life and when your departure date arrives, you don't want to leave.
Our family of four (two adults, two kids) enjoyed our long weekend at this cabin. It was the perfect size and was a pretty little cabin that mostly met all our needs. We saw several deer from the windows everyday and enjoyed the private, wooded feeling. We have four-wheel drive and are used to driving on steep roads, but the driveway is definitely a little rough. Very rutted out and our four-wheel drive engaged.
Only complaints were that the materials provided were very sparse. The cleaning staff forgot to provide any kitchen trash bags and they were out of dishwasher soap. When I brought it to their attention, they quickly wrote back and thanked me for letting them know, but there was no effort to run anything over. Beech Mountain is lovely, but isolated, so having to make a special trip to the grocery store for these items was not ideal. There were a few spices but no salt, which was odd. No shampoo or soap in the showers (at least there was handsoap at the sinks), very limited towels and limited blankets. One dull knife and one cutting board. I recommend bringing all the basics and not counting on them being there. But, overall, a cozy, pretty cabin in the woods.
The cabin is as depicted in the photos. Pretty and light-filled living area with nice large deck. Kitchen has the bare basics but does have a pasta drainer (another post noted it didn't.) 3 min drive to Buckeye Recreation Center where there is a nice trail to some waterfalls, great rope playground, and you can borrow a kayak or canoe for free for 2 hours by friendly staff. Thing to note: description noted that for the driveway in winter, you need a 4 wheel drive or all wheel vehicle and/or be an experienced driver. We went in August and as experienced drivers, we couldn't get our Prius up the gravel & rutted driveway. If you have a smaller lightweight car, esp a hybrid sedan, you may not be able to get the power/traction to get up the driveway., esp with the loose gravel and some ruts. We had to park at the bottom and carry everything up it to the cabin which also had a lot of stairs (we knew about those) so that part was not pleasant. Owner said they may include that in the description. Overall we enjoyed our time there and in the area.
Mini-moon time in NC! We enjoyed being in the trees with the wind and the leave colors. It was not your typical long view you would expect but private. As others have mentioned the driveway was a challenge but if had to walk it, it would not have been too bad.
The property was exactly as described in the listing. It was clean and tidy and left nothing to be desired. We watched deer walk past the kitchen window and enjoyed the view all weekend - we will definitely book this property again.
Upon arriving we were quite disappointed. We arrived 2 hours past check in time and came into a cabin that had not been cleaned whatsoever since the previous occupants had left. Dirty laundry on the floor, no sheets on the beds, dirty toilets, dishes in the dishwasher, and two toddlers in the truck who were ready for bed. I was a bit pissed to put it mildly. Got into contact with VRBO and the local contact and a cleaning crew was sent to get the property in order. Still not sure why the cabin wasn't ready when we got there, but in the end it was made right. Aside from these issues, we found the cabin listing to be accurate and had a pleasant stay. The cabin is nice and is well equipped for a quick getaway. Beds were comfortable and our children slept soundly every night we were there. We hiked both Grandfather Mountain and the Roan High Bluff and this property is roughly equidistant to both. My wife and I enjoyed spending time together out on the deck after we got the kids to bed every night. The stargazing from this location is very good, the mountains block out most of the light pollution from nearby towns. We were pleased with the cabin itself, just not so much with the cleaning crew. Were it my property, I'd definitely find a more professional outfit to take care of cleaning up the cabin between guests. All that being said, we would come back, especially during the winter.
Our original reservation at another house was canceled on us due to issues at the property. With short notice, we had limited choices to pick from that fit our budget and needs. So glad we found Birds Eye View. Aside from a few cons, it was perfect for our Labor Day weekend trip to the Mountains. We brought our own firepit and chairs to enjoy s’mores at night out in the driveway area.
Pros:
Cozy Cabin- Perfect size for family with two elementary age kids.
Secluded/peaceful (no immediate neighbors).
Loved eating out on the deck. Felt like we were in a tree house. Nice to have has grill.
On Beech Mountain- Close to all the BM sites and not bad drive to Grandfather Mountain or Linville Falls.
Cons:
driveway- we had Ram truck and it was difficult to get out if we took the hairpin turn to top. Ended up leaving it parked midway.
Steep stairs- if you have littles that tend to get up at night, not ideal to have them upstairs in twins. There is a step out of the bedroom then steep staircase down. We ended up splitting parents- one up and one down sharing bed with kid to avoid tumble.
Kitchen- very basic plates, glasses, pots/pans. No plastic cups/plates/bowls for kids. No colander for pasta.
Loved the location and the cabin. Everything was exactly as described. The cabin was prepped for my arrival with lights and fans on. Very clean and pleasant information on activities. Only drawback is switchback driveway is a tad tight. Would definitely stay there again.
My family loves this cabin. Great location, cozy, and it has everything you need on a kitchen. No air-conditioning and it wasn't listed but no need for it. The temperature it's great even during summer. We open the windows when we arrived for a little bit and the house cool off right away. I really can't say enough good things about this place. We plan on coming back soon.
