About this property
Relax at this Wentworth Falls retreat and outdoor spa
The Waterhouse is a perfect place to escape and unwind. It is set in lovely cool climate gardens against a tranquil waterlily & koi pond, making it a quiet, relaxing stay with descerning friends or a romantic getaway with your partner.
The A-framed, mid century inspired home nestles perfectly into the surrounding estate, with large sliding glass doors opening up to enjoy that wonderful indoor/outdoor connection. It has a lofty, light-filled living area flowing out to the deck and pond.... and hidden under the remote roll-away deck is a luxury 4 person spa. Such an enticing way to soak away your troubles.
This contemporary 3 bedroom home accommodates 4 comfortably but sleeps 6, with a king bed in the master bedroom, a king bed in the mezzanine bedroom. Two single beds suitable for the kids are accessed through the mezzanine bedroom. I've styled the interiors with a collection of interesting pieces I've gethered over the years and it definately feels like a comfortable home rather than a soulless holiday listing.
The kitchen is well equipt with essential appliances and basic food necessities to get you going. It includes an espresso coffee machine, gas cooktop, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer.
The open plan living areas are heated through the cooler months by underfloor heating. This continues down into the master bedroom and main bathroom, making the whole house incredibly cosy on those wintery days.
The Waterhouse is a 200m walk to the lake, and a 500m walk to the village for all your supply needs. Further afield are the many views & hiking trails that make the Blue Mountains so special, giving you plenty of options for outside time with friends or family.
We have wi-fi, Netflix, Stan, Catch-up streaming channels, board games, the spa, an outdoor fire pit and a quiet space for reading and/or working, so if you need to escape the Sydney hustle, make a booking request now. For longer stays we have calculated a better rate.
For added safety a single security camera monitors the front gate, which also confirms the arrival and departure of guests.
I have a detatched studio on the property with its own entrance, and is separated by screens and gardens. Sometimes I might quietly be staying there, but often I'll be away.

About the host
Hosted by Dan
I love good design. From cool architecture to mid century sculpture, I find it inspiring and exciting. When I travel I'll generally go to see creative and edgy buildings, whether they are residential or commercial. Recent trips have been to Japan, Cuba and the States.
Why they chose this property
I moved to the Blue Mountains in 2010 because I was looking for a cooler option to Sydney. I fell in love with the genuine sense of community the smaller villages offer, and being a landscaper I really enjoyed the seasonality of the spring flowers and autumnal foliage. The Waterhouse is a very special place, and I really hope you love and appreciate the beauty of the house and gardens too.
