Refurbished miners cottage 5 min from Moonta Bay + free internet
Just minutes from breathtaking Moonta beach, Inglenook truly captures the spirit of life on the Copper Coast. Combining the historic charm of a century-old miner’s cottage, yet newly-renovated to impeccable contemporary standards, our cottage is perfect for your next holiday on the Yorke Peninsula.
Situated on the main artery through Moonta, George Street, Inglenook is close enough to the town’s renowned cafes and restaurants to stroll down in no time at all, while far away enough to enjoy a blissfully-quiet night in the garden.
Self-contained with everything one would expect in a high quality renovation, Inglenook offers more, without losing touch with its heritage.
Comprising two bedrooms — one Master, offering a Queen-size mattress; and one Double, consisting of two long singles — both of which are larger and more private than one might expect for a traditional cottage of this era. Inglenook can comfortably sleep five in total, given the single sofa bed in one of its lounge areas.
If reclining with a book on holiday is your idea of a break from reality, Inglenook can accommodate you — even if another guest has the same idea. With two peaceful indoor seated areas, both well-lit with antique fireplaces and Persian rugs, you’ll unwind in no time at all.
You can escape from it all on the couch by streaming movies on the TV from the Chromecast, courtesy of Inglenook's free unlimited internet. All you need is your own smartphone or tablet and you can stream services such as Netflix* and YouTube.
The shaded front patio is the perfect place to watch the world go by over breakfast, while the back garden’s open-beam sheltered area — with its bespoke lighting, gas hood barbeque, and seating for all — is the ideal place to end your day on one of the many local beaches.
Back inside, the tastefully-refurbished bathroom offers unpretentious luxury, tiled in the Victorian mode: the walk-in shower, opposite a classic, freestanding clawfoot bathtub, are matchless for your well-earned relaxation. There is also a separate toilet.
The kitchen is cosy, providing everything required for your holiday: a gas stove, convection microwave oven, air fryer and large fridge freezer, plus Delonghi coffee pod machine, with pods provided for arrival.
The off-street driveway can accommodate two cars, plus another in the carport. There is plenty of room for a small boat with trailer, and several parking spaces on the road.
Further amenities include ducted reverse cycle air conditioning (though, the stone cottage stays cool in the warmer months), a HD television with Blu-Ray player, an iPod docking station, board games, and plenty of books to read.
Inglenook has laundry facilities, including a front load washing machine, iron and ironing board, and undercover washing line.
All linen for provided for your stay is crisp white hotel quality (sheets, pillowcases, towels and tea-towels), but guests will need to bring bedding and linen if using the sofa bed, plus their own beach towels.
Inglenook is located just a short walk along Moonta’s main street, minutes from the town’s shops, restaurants, and heritage buildings. Just a short drive away is the Moonta Mines National Heritage Area, the Moonta Bay and Port Hughes beaches, and the free ‘Splash Town’ water park.

Great location, short walk to the shops. Hop in the car and you are at the beach within minutes. Property very comfortable and clean, had everything we needed.
We had a lovely time staying in this beautiful property. It was a short drive to the beach and located right in the centre of Moonta. The home offered everything for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
A lovely cottage, clean and comfortable. My family enjoyed relaxing under the patio, and strolling to the nearby park and cafe. This cottage is also very convenient for heading to the beach, which is less than 5 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again.

What a lovely place to spend your holidays! We all loved the little miner's cottage, a place with a lot of character, easy to use and beautiful courtyard. Would definitely stay again. Worth mentioning how clean it was and so many amenities. Also close to the shops and main street while also on the way to the beach and jettyIt has everything you
The location was excellent, the house is beautiful and clean. The beds are comfortable. It contains everything you could need. The garden is gorgeous and quiet. We had a wonderful stay. Thanks
Very comfortable and conveniently in the main street of Moonta, so it's a short walk to cafes/eateries, and the local supermarket, and only a short drive to the beach. It has all the basics that we needed, and some nice little extra touches. There are lots of small details in the cottage that reflect its history, and the history of the area.

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Hopefully you can stay longer next time! Thanks, Amanda
The garden is so lush and secluded that it seems a world away from all the fuss and bother. We enjoyed listening to the blackbird singing, seeing the wattlebirds, rosellas and shingleback lizard enjoying the apricots, and feeding 16 magpies who came to visit as well.
The cottage is within walking distance to cafes, restaurants and main shopping strip.
The cottage is roomy and comfortable, it has everything you need.
Although bathroom supplies were limited - no body wash or hair conditioner. We would have appreciated more coffee pods.
Gorgeous little cottage in a quiet location close to everything! You can feel the love and attention that has gone into ever detail. I'm an artist @vikadafoxart and I have many beautiful photos from my trip to spark some great ideas. If you want a peaceful place to recharge your batteries, this is the place. Thank you Amanda x
We loved staying in this little miner's cottage in the main street of Moonta. It has been lovingly restored and the owners care and attention to detail is to be commended.
Very tastefully refurbished, gorgeous cottage. Enjoyed our stay & being so close to eateries on the main street of Moonta. Enjoyed some fresh figs & peaches from the trees and a comfy bed. Would gladly recommend it & would love to return one day.
Just as lovely as it looks!
The apricot tree was our highlight, we
Highly recommend this cottage.

About the host

Inglenook was purchased as a holiday home for our family and as a holiday rental. We have completely restored the 1910 miners cottage throughout 2018, back to it’s former loveliness. We live in Adelaide but spend as much time as possible in Moonta and Inglenook. We love being able to walk to the cafes and browse around the quaint shops. The beach is gorgeous and the water pristine. We spend many hours there on every visit. Our daughter loves the free waterpark next to the beach and the rock pools around the bay.
Why they chose this property
A lovely mixture of olde world and new, with the luxury of a clawfoot bath , large walk-in shower and hotel quality crisp white linen and towels.
What makes this property unique
Inglenook offers guests the opportunity to stay in an original miners cottage, with the added benefits of modern facilities and comfort on George Street. Situated a few minutes walk from the restaurants , cafes and shops. Yet far enough away when guests want to relax and unwind. The fairy lights installed in the back patio add ambiance to enjoy relaxed meals and BBQ's, whilst overlooking the private secure garden.
