About this property

FP124 Cozy Ski- in Studio with Kitchenette!!

This studio is situated slopeside in Copper Mountain's East Village. You will find a breathtaking view on your private patio overlooking the slopes of East Mountain. It's about a 50 yd walk from the building to the lift. This studio would be most comfortable with 2 adults staying. I allow 3 adults to book, just be aware that this space will feel tight to fit 3 and all belongings. I do not recommend trying to put 3 adults in this space. A family of 2 adults and 1 kid will still be tight, but better option than 3 adults. I did want to give travelers this option of sleeping 3 because sometimes all you want is a room to sleep in while on the mtn! It has one queen bed, as well as 1 sofa that converts into an additional queen bed, or can be separated for 2 twin beds. Hope this helps!!

The Kitchenette consists of a Microwave, toaster oven, and Coffee Maker and mini fridge. There is no dishwasher, please wash all dishes prior to departure. Thank you!

The parking info will be given at checkin. You will be allowed to register one vehicle with the unit and building. It not assigned parking for the building. It is first come first serve. It is free to park at the building if you are able to find a spot. It is usually not difficult to find a spot, except for Holiday time period stays. If there are no outside parking spots available you may park in the Alipine lot for $20 a night and move your car to the outside lot of Foxpine building when one is becomes available! Thank you ☺ Unfortunately, I can not accept same day reservations after my property management office closes. I do not lower my prices for the same day checkin, if you are hoping for last minute price cut that won’t happen. For same day request I will need to verify with my on-site management team that cleaning has been performed for studio. Please submit requests earlier in the day for same day reservations so that I may ensure the studio will be ready for your arrival! If booking during Ski Season, please note that this studio is located in the East Village and during the month of November it is not guaranteed that the Super Bee lift will be operating for the public. If this is the case, guests will have to use the Copper shuttle system to ride to Center Village and catch American Eagle Gondola to access the mtn. The pickup for the Shuttle is about a 100 yd walk and it comes every 15-20 min, it is a 5 min ride to Center Village. Copper usually opens the Super Bee lift around Thanksgiving weekend, it is all dependent upon snow conditions.

Exactly what’s needed

Great place if you are coming to hit the slopes. True ski to the front balcony. Everything you need with none of the frills. Would definitely stay again.

Heater Inoperative for Over Half of Our Stay

We reported the heater was not working to the property managers on duty at about 8:00 pm on our first night. It wasn't repaired until about 2:00 pm the next afternoon. The problem was an incorrectly installed thermostat which caused a wire in the wall to short and burn through the it's insulation. Neither we nor, apparently, the property managers were aware of a 25 hour emergency line. There were two small, noisy space heaters in the unit which we chose not to run continuously overnight. After a cold night, we discovered that we couldn't run both space heaters and any other appliances, including a laptop, at the same time because the unit was wired with only one circuit and the breaker would trip. The breaker was located at the other end of the building in a locked room. Preparing breakfast with a microwave and toaster oven while trying to heat the place took quite awhile. When we followed up with the owner about the problem (She hadn't been notified of it.) and asked for a one night refund, we were chastised for not using the 24 hour line, not running the space heaters all night, and not contacting her while we were there. She also said there had been intermittent problems with the heater in the past, but thought they were resolved. We were refunded approximately one half of one night's rental charge. As always, Caveat Emptor, but we hope our experience will lead to an inspection of all electrical work the contractor who installed the thermostat did on any other thermostats and heaters in any of the units.

Response from VrboOwner on 21 February 2022
I had multiple communications with this guest prior to his arrival. I responded to all his inquiries within 10 min of his questions to me. My guests needs are very important to me. The situation that he has described is accurate in timeline, but he never once reached out to me during his stay to inform me of the situation. I have since discussed with my property management company. They have checked in over 500 guest reservations for me and I can count on 1 hand the times a guest demanded a refund. David did report the inoperable baseboard heater the night of check in. They informed him that they would submit a work order & it would be attended to the next day. They ensured they had another heating source (the space heater, which has a thermostat setting which turns off throughout the night) They chose not to use them, the baseboard was inspected first thing in the morning and was determined an electrician needed to be called to look more closely at the thermostat. It was then repaired later that day. My management company had continuous interaction with the guest & determined thru those interactions that there was no need to get me involved since the guest seemed satisfied with the service and the issue of the heat was corrected. The guest was only there for 2 nights & the afternoon of checkout is when David decided to reach out to me to inform me of what happened. I apologized and immediately offered a refund of $100, he demanded the entire first night. I try to see where my guests are coming from, it was an inconvenience yes, but there was a heating source & they chose not to use it. As far as outlets, the breaker did blow multiple times bc of space heaters and running appliances. I can see how that would be annoying. Again, he did not reach out to me to inform of the what was going on or expressed to me his displeasure. I would have offered to buy him and his wife's breakfast over at Camp Hale to resolve that issue. I can't do anything during the stay if a guest doesn't communicate to me. He gave me conflicting stories of why he didn't reach out to me, first he said the management company told him they would reach out to me regarding the baseboard issue, and then he said that the management company told him they only handle my reservations & bookings; not maintenance. I'm confused then why he wouldn't have contacted me about the baseboard. Ultimately, I gave him a refund of 60% for the first night of what I earn after VRBO takes their commission.

Compact but complete

This unit has everything though the overall size is tiny. Really convenient ski in ski out location. Was quite comfortable for one person. Though four could sleep there, four would be hard pressed to walk around. Maybe a couple with two small kids could make it work. Glad I found it. Owner and front desk staff very helpful.

Beautiful

We enjoyed our place. The front desk was friendly and helpful. Christys Rentals was literally right next door. Unfortunately, the Double Diamond restaurant has closed, so the only other option for dinner was JJs, which was ok. We were told that the shuttles ran until 10pm, but on the actual shuttles, it had 7a-7p posted in the window, I didn't want to take the chance. I also didn't realize that this mountain is broken up by ski level, which is amazing. We enjoyed watching the black slopes from the balcony. We, however, needed to be at the West Village where you can find the green slopes. But, we were able to have fun and sled literally right outside of our door. Overall, the place was quiet and amazing. We enjoyed watching the snow cats groom the slopes, it was beautiful and peaceful. We will be back

Grew up on farm in the Central Valley of CA, my first job was helping my parents with our farms' almond and walnut harvest. Moved to Denver in March of 2016 and accomplished my life long goal of owner a property at a ski resort in the summer of 2017. I grew up skiing at a tiny CA family resort called Dodge Ridge, and then in my adult years I expanded to ski more in the Tahoe area, most times at Kirkwood and Heavenly. I am excited to share this amazing purchase with you all, I have put a lot of thought and planning in trying create a very special experience while staying at this condo.
