This seven bedroom home is complete with game room, surround sound, outside deck speakers, private pool (05/01 to 10/10), hot tub, and plenty of places to lounge the summer away. Nestled into “Gallery Row”, you’re only three houses back from the ocean which puts you close to the beach and all the attractions of the Outer Banks while you’re insulated from the traffic and people.

Within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the beach, the Beach Bum Inn is a family friendly destination where leisure meets life! Has hardwood floors through out and TVs with live streaming channels on all TVs.

Family obx trip

We had a great week in OBX. House was just the right number of bedrooms and bathrooms for our group. Pool is wonderful to come back to from the beach and enjoy. Location was great for the beach, shopping and restaurants. Ben was very easy to communicate with. Our only complaint was for the bedroom on the ground floor the bed was extremely uncomfortable.

The perfect home away from home

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The kids lived in the pool on the days it didn’t rain and didn’t want to go home. There was so much room that when we needed to separate, we were able to go to our respective rooms and chill. I loved the accommodations for our 15 month old. There were baby gates, high chairs, a crib, and 2 pack and plays that were available for use. I never found the baby monitor but it was enough of us that we could keep up with her. The beach wasn’t far, but there were too many steps for my mom to have to go up and down to enjoy the beach, so i wouldn’t recommend for families that need accessibility features. Overall, i would definitely come and stay again if we had the opportunity.

Family wedding

The property was very clean and the host was very responsive when we communicated with him. My only recommendation would be that the decking and railings on the front entry way and top floor be repaired. Several members of our group including small children received slivers

Family Trip

If you have kids, this place is for you. The pool and hot tub are awesome. The beach is super close and the ice cream shop is a short walk around the corner. Highly recommended for any Family vacation.

Great Location and Plenty of Room for All

The house was very clean and had plenty of room for four families! Loved having plenty of bathrooms for everyone to feel comfortable. The pool and hot tub were both very clean and well used by all. A short walk to the beach was great for the littles! This is a very nice house with plenty of room and stocked with all the amenities you could ask for!

Great Beach Vacation Location

This was our 2nd year staying at the Beach Bum Inn for our family summer beach vacation, and we'd happily stay there again. Ben has always been immediately responsive to any questions or needs, and the house is perfect for an extended family gathering for young and old. The location is great - easy access to beach, grocery, and restaurants. The house was clean, everything was working, and the amenities like the pool & hot tub were great alternatives to the beach. Highly recommend.

A great get away

Ben was easy to engage with questions leading up to the stay. The property was just as advertised and conveniently located to the beach, walking distance to a major grocery store, coffee shop and pizza place. The pool and hot tub are perfect. Surprised this place was still available and feel lucky to have been able to stay there. Have been going to the Outer Banks for decades and hope we can come back to Beach Bum Inn again.

GREAT HOUSE

We've stayed here multiple times over the past 6 years or so. It's a great space for families of almost any size. The bedrooms and kitchen are great, the pool and hot tub are always awesome. It's located between the highways, so a quick walk to the beach or grocery store and a quick drive to anywhere else. The house is pet friendly without seeming like it... the house and yard are clean and well kept. WE LOVE THIS HOUSE! Great place to stay.

Fulfilled our family needs

This house fits our needs perfectly! There were many levels to the house, which each family took a level and had their own privacy. Loved the open concept for the kitchen, dining, and family room. Large space it accommodated our family of 7 adults and 3 children 2 and under perfectly. The kitchen is stacked with everything you need. Great fast communication between the renter and us. Great location everything you need within walking distance.

Thanksgiving Family Destination Trip

We had a beautiful time. The rental property was great & it accommodated our crowd perfectly for our destination Holiday trip. We had plenty privacy for our alone time and plenty room to enjoy family during our family activities. The home was beautiful and I don’t think the online photos we saw with the floral bedding & dated furnishings did it justice. It looked much better in person. Ben was a wonderful host, he was available to answer questions and even shared his streaming platforms which I did not expect. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again.

Nice place

We enjoyed our stay. It is a nice house and the kitchen in well-appointed with cooking and eating utensils. There are 2 hand blenders. The rooms on the second and third floor are nice. However, the knob on the bathroom sink comes off in your hand. The 1st floor queen bed squeaks very loudly whenever you move. So that is a drag, if there are two people sleeping in it. The bathrooms that are shared could use more towel racks or put towel racks and/or hooks in the bedrooms. The first floor bathroom that is shared is especially small and could use a shelf as well as at least another towel racks and hooks. Finally, for all of the people that the house can sleep, the gathering room (3rd floor) has very few seats that are comfortable - basically only seating for 5 comfortably or at most 7, if you cram yourselves in. It would be nice if there were additional comfortable seating. We would rent again but probably with fewer people. There were 11 of us.

Great Getaway

The Beach Bum Inn was really a great place for our family’s recent vacation. The house is so spacious - with plenty of room for our group of 9 brothers and sisters ! Unfortunately, a Nor’Eastern blew thru the Outer Banks the week we stayed but there was so much space in the house that we never felt crowded . The house is only a short walk to the beach and grocery. It’s mid-Island so it was a great location to base our daily events from with minimal commute time. We will definitely be back and hopeful that the next next the weather will be better and we can use ALL the facilities around the house (pool, hot tub and plenty of deck space)!

Just Right

This house checked all the boxes for our family vacation - activities, food, beach, convenience, comfort, and easy fun. The pool & hot tub offered a great convenient alternative activity to the beach. The house was set up perfectly for an extended family vacation, with lots of bedroom and bathroom options, a crib & swing for the littlest one and a pool table for the olders. Easy walking distance to the beach, a great local ice cream shop, Food Lion, and several good eating options. The beach access had some parking so you could drive all your gear down in the morning if you wanted, and the beach was active but not too crowded at all. The house also has a convenient outdoor shower and hose to get the last of the beach off before going into the house or pool. Ben, the owner, was very responsive and helpful with any questions. He even has a collection of beach and pool toys, board and family games, and a few books upstairs. Really couldn't have been better for us.

I was born and raised in Charlottesville Va and live with my Wife, 10 year old son, and dog. I own an AV company in the area and have a few properties that I rent out. I have been coming to the Outer Banks for vacation every year as far back as I can remember. I love to go surfing, fishing, working out, and eating fresh seafood in the great restaurants that the Outer Banks has to offer.

Why they chose this property

We found this house in 2006 when looking for a home we could rent out during the peak season and stay in when we wanted a break from reality. This house was large enough to be able to entertain several large family's but cozy enough to enjoy the family time. The street is very quiet and safe for children which is very important to us. You can walk to the beach, restaurants, and galleries from the house.

What makes this property unique

We really enjoy the large Family, Living, and Dining Area on the top floor and of course Pool and Decks are great. The Game Room on the Ground Level is also great when you need a break from the kids! The Kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need for your vacation. You cannot beat the location for shopping, activities, restaurants, and art galleries. There is a great surf shop (Farmdogs) right around the corner that rents surfboards, paddle boards, bike, and provides lessons. We love the Sea Glass shop on the Beach Road in front of the house. There is small path into the trees with a bench that will allow sneak away for some peace and quiet while still being right next to the house.
