Secluded Cabin in the Woods of Pennsylvania

Beautiful log cabin on 28 secluded acres in the rolling hills of Northwestern PA. This natural oasis includes a stream, plenty of wooded areas and wildlife.

This 1,600 sq. ft. cabin includes 3 large bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a loft overlooking a great room, a private kids loft with a ladder, free Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, an outdoor propane grill, a washer and dryer, a fireplace (firewood available for purchase during cool / cold weather), and a wrap-around deck overlooking a picturesque valley with a stream.

The Master bedroom has a queen bed and a walk-in closet connected to a full bathroom, which includes the Jacuzzi tub and a shower. The second bedroom also has a queen bed and a desk. The third bedroom has three twin beds with a ladder leading to the private kids mini loft. A separate spacious loft overlooking the great room can easily sleep two. The loft also has a TV with DVD player and XBox with assorted movies and games (no cable or satellite channels).

If you love nature, there is plenty of wildlife and amazing hiking opportunities that are available for your enjoyment. There are also many nearby attractions. Within a 30 minute drive, you can enjoy Tionesta Lake, Canadohta Lake, Woodcock Lake, Oil Creek and Titusville Railroad, Drake Well Museum, Queen City hiking and biking trail system, and much more. In under an hour drive you can also enjoy all that Erie, PA has to offer, including Presque Isle State Park.

Perfect for couples, families, friends, and anyone else who wants to get away from it all. Please note that at least one guest must be 25 or older. If you have a party larger than eight people, consider having part of your group stay at the Homestead Hearth (VRBO listing ID # 1936460), which is less than a mile away.

The cabin is approximately 1/2 mile off the main road and the access lane to the cabin is a little rugged. We recommend a vehicle with medium to high clearance. During the winter months we engage a plowing service. However, if the area experiences ice or heavy snowfall, the road may become difficult to keep cleared and not well suited for 2WD vehicles. As a result, during the winter months (December - March) we require that guests have an AWD or 4WD vehicle.

We do not charge a cleaning fee. Pets are welcome but we do charge a $125 per stay pet fee. The only additional fees relate to VRBO's service fee and taxes withheld and remitted by VRBO.

Peaceful Pines

This property and the history of building it was amazing and intriguing. The location was close to extended family where we attended a reunion. This is one of the most relaxing and comfortable locations we have rented.

Winter Paradise

Wonderful Cabin and Wooded Property

We stayed for 6 nights with our GSD and immediately felt relaxed after we arrived. The Cabin is beautiful inside and outside. Very well stocked and organized. The woods surrounding the cabin are beautiful including the little creek going through and the bird song in the morning. Loved the fire pit area and the fireplace. The firewood for purchase at the cabin was great quality. We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We are looking forward to coming back soon!

You honestly couldn’t imagine needing something that isn’t supplied in the cabin! It’s got everything. Our only complaint is that the fireplace is in an awkward place, which doesn’t lend itself to sitting in front of it. We ended up not using it.

Fantastic Rereat

Our family of five, including our teens loved this cabin! The hikes at Oil Creek State Park made for a fun outing and the short drive to a ski area made the location ideal for all of the things our outdoorsy family likes to do. Wonderful cabin in the woods

The pictures are good but really don't do it justice. The drive in off the main road during the winter was quite doable with AWD, and a fresh layer of snow on the trees made everything serene and picturesque.The views of the snow on the pines out of every window never disappointed, and was exactly what we were looking for on a weekend getaway.Unlike a lot of vacation rentals this one actually feels like it was built to be lived in, and my wife and I enjoyed looking through the photo album of the construction process to see the work and heart that went into the place.If you're coming in the winter months the firewood available for purchase may be a necessity to help get things warm. We came on the tail end of a very cold (single digits) winter storm and the in-floor heating was not able to keep up until we got an initial fire going. If it's 25f or better you'll probably be fine, but in our case the warmest was around 15-20f and on the first day we wouldn't have gotten above 57 or so inside without the fire.I personally enjoyed starting a fire first thing in the morning to get things warmed up, which was exactly the experience I was looking for.There are a great quantity of blankets and space heaters helped make the bedroom and lounging areas cozy until things warmed up.We are definitely planning to come back sometime and would love to see this place in the fall.

Great spot and great value

We loved the location being surrounded by woods and a lovely stream downhill. We are jealous of the fireplace and enjoyed sitting by it. Kitchen was well equipped for making meals. The cabin is so cute inside and out. The deck is a homerun. Bathrooms are also very nice. Also mark us down as loving the kitchen island. Some things could use an upgrade/good clean since it seems like it's been awhile and have experienced lots of use (you all have SO MANY entries in your guestbook and repeat guests, too!). I wouldn't be mad if you replaced both couches. It was hard to get the house heated, but we figured it out by the second day. The TV was a challenge - the DVD player's remote needs to be tossed (battery acid), so couldn't watch anything on it. I figured out how to get the video game console to play a DVD, but it was kind of tricky. We weren't there to watch TV, so that was totally fine. We went over to Oil Creek State Park (less than 20mins away) for an awesome hike and stopped in cute Titusville for a beer. We'll back back! Thanks for the wonderful weekend.
