Simply beautiful
We loved our stay Pink House. The location is about 10-15minutes walk to town with young children, so ideal for anyone who enjoys peace and quiet but doesn't want to be reliant on transport to get groceries or experience the local community and culture. The beach/dock area were great for young children who like to be active and outside, and the views over the lake at all times of day were amazing. Our boys all loved the kayak and spent hours on the lake, although it would have been better to have more than one- our kids are 8 and under and couldn't explore properly, especially when the wind picked up. The plantation is interesting and the walk through it good for a change of scene- we used the great firepit and BBQ area at the top which has wonderful views. The house is a little more basic than some, but everything was clean and there was lots of space. Some basic kitchen implements were missing (the oven looked new, but no baking trays so not useful?), and the shower wasn't great (we had a problem with it which was resolved very quickly, bit it still seemed a bit odd). Communication with the owner was easy and any queries or problem answered quickly. We did feel that it wasn't clear in the listing how much the access and beach areas were shared by users of other parts of the site. It also wasn't clear in the listing that the use of the kayak, BBQ and other elements was with an extra cost (not expensive but still...), and that use would be based on availability (e.g. if another person on site had booked the kayak). The cost was worth it in the end, but we thought it was included and that the kayak was solely for Pink House guests. Overall, we loved the town of San Lucas, we loved exploring the lake by lancha, and the location of the house was stunning. Perhaps the listing could be clearer and some facilities improved, but we would stay again and wish we had more time there.
