Amazing Cabin and View

We spent 4 nights in July during a visit from my brothers family. The cabin is great! All the details were well done. Everyone had their space, which was great on rainy days. Not a bad drive to Gatlinburg or Asheville. Very convenient to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. We all loved it and would stay here again.

Nice place

Check in was easy, view was wonderful. House was clean except for the large amount of black mold found in basement. Unable to reach contact personnel after storm and internet went out.

Hi Andy, we want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our properties seriously. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - We use a professional cleaning company to ensure the home is cleaned and sanitized between guests. The local contact does a walk-through of the house before arrival and we are confident that the house met our high cleanliness standards before your check-in. - Based on your feedback, I went to inspect the property alongside a moisture remediation & foundation contractor. They assessed that all structural and environmental factors were normal and there are no issues. - While we cannot guarantee the availability of community amenities during a storm, we do understand that these amenities play a large role when guests book a property. - Unfortunately, during a storm, the internet and cell service can occasionally be slow. While this is outside of the homeowner's control, we're sorry if this situation caught you off guard. - We provide plenty of suggestions in the listing description of nearby attractions, but ultimately it’s up to the guest how they want to spend their time in the area. - While we do regret our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to report that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend. - Your feedback assists us in understanding our guests' perspectives and improving wherever possible. Thank you for sharing your review!

Beautiful spring break family vacation

We rented this house with our 4 children and 2 sets of grandparents. Everyone loved the beautiful views, layout, and big front porch. The kitchen was well stocked, beds comfortable. The downstairs unit was a bit difficult to figure out how to heat, but overall the stay was amazing. The kids enjoyed the play room. The house was also close to many amazing hikes. The host was easy to contact and so accommodating. We would stay again! Thank you for your hospitality!

Beautiful Vacation!

Our family had a great stay at this cabin! Beautiful view and great space for us all. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. The downstairs "kids room" was definitely a lot colder than the rest of the house, but there were plenty of blankets provided. The driveway could use a little larger sign to be clearly labeled, but the neighborhood was nice and quiet. There were 2 nice tables on the porch that weren't shown in the pictures, but we enjoyed eating, playing games, and bird watching outside with the beautiful view.

Family vacation

We enjoyed our stay at settlers cabin. The cabin was very clean and has everything that we needed for our weekly stay. The only real complaint that we have is that the beds are not that comfortable. You can tell that they are old and well used because you can feel the springs in the mattress in the basement and the spare room on the main floor had a very lumpy mattress. Besides that it was a great cabin with an amazing view of the mountains.

Good place

The rental was very clean, had plenty of room and was very peaceful. The only issue was checkout was 10am and we were running a few min behind and someone was at the door exactly 10am. I think you should have a little leeway for people running a few min late

From the first night, the entire first floor had no heat, and the smoke/fire alarms were going off throughout the night. We had 4 small children trying to sleep in this area along with me and my husband in another bedroom. I stayed awake most of the night trying to manage the alarms while also caring for our small children and calling evolve and Vrbo. We did not receive any contact or assistance from the owner until the following afternoon. When we finally heard back, the owner initially denied there was an issue and was controlling the heat from his phone. After repeatedly requesting that someone come out to inspect the problem, a technician was eventually sent. The following day, it was confirmed that the heater was indeed broken. The only solution provided was a small space heater, which was clearly inadequate to heat the entire first floor of the home. The technician explained the part they needed to order and fix the heat was not available for over a full week. Because of the freezing conditions and the ongoing alarm issues, we were forced to sleep in ski gear with our children and ultimately had no choice but to leave the property early. Also finding this place is beyond difficult we went to multiple other homes by accident, the terrain is difficult to drive, very dangerous roads and there’s no way you’re getting 6 cars in the driveway. They ask you to drive all of your trash somewhere you can never find. Renters beware!!!!

Waynesville NC Boot Ridge

Overall, a nice stay at this property. Plenty of everything you might need - the description of what is provided is accurate. We came in the first night after dark though, and the house number was hard to see as it is small and the grass around it was high. The gate to the community is located along the steep grade going up, and accessing the keypad to open the gate can be a bit of a challenge. The house has plenty of space and sleeping accommodations. Our party included a number of folks with asthma though, so the basement/den (which includes 5 of the beds) was underutilized for sleeping and general use by the whole group due to a distinct odor of mildew.

Good, could be better

Lovely cabin on the mountain with plenty of room to sleep a large gathering. Unfortunately the property management company isn’t very concerned with simple touches that would add to the experience, nor do they seem to care about guest comfort and/or aggravation. There’s an honor wine bar, but no wine. There’s a fireplace and fire pit, but no wood. There’s a gas heater on the front porch, but no gas. Given the cost of the cabin for a week, it would seem that spending $50 on such amenities for guests wouldn’t be a stretch. At the very least add to the cabin description that you’ll need to bring a bundle of wood, propane tank, and a sharp axe up the mountain! As annoying as that was, it’s nothing compared to the frustration of trying to get the dishwasher to start or trying to keep the heat from roasting us out. Contacted management about both items only to hear that the dishwasher “should “ work and that the thermostat was a “learning “ model. I’m not sure who taught the thermostat, but it really needs a remedial course because every night it would jump up several degrees and cook everyone until someone reset it. Then it would bump itself up again a few hours later. There was also a broken chair and stool in the front room, which limited seating capacity, but usually at least one person was always up trying to get the dishwasher to start so that wasn’t a big problem. Overall I’d say it was a 3.5 star cabin that could easily push 5 stars if there were a little more attention to comfort detail and more helpful responsiveness to occupants.

A Great Place to Stay in the Maggie Valley/Waynesville Area

This cabin was a great place for our one week getaway vacation from the heat of Houston. The layout was great for our group that consisted of 2 senior couples and our daughter and her four year old son. Its location is remote and serene with good mountain-top views.

cozy

If I was rating just the cabin alone, it would definitely get a 5; no complaints at all! I emailed our guest contact before our trip with no response and I also texted him before we arrived at the cabin (because it was going to be late) with no response. Luckily we did not have any issues at the cabin and didn't have to contact him during our stay. Also, we left 3 bags of trash at the cabin and had to take what we had over 3 bags (so we wouldn't be charged $5) to a different location a few miles away. This was a little extreme in my opinion and no one failed to inform me that it was a public dumpster site and IT WAS CLOSED ON MEMORIAL DAY, even knowing my departure date. As for the cabin itself, it was wonderful, clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend.

Great cabin on top of the clouds

Cabin is great place to stay. Roomy for my crew and a place to park our bikes in the garage. The cabin is full of stuff and appliances are great condition. 3 1/2 bathroom is a plus. I love the kitchen sink. Best view! My crew never have any issues with our 3 nights stay. Things that I don’t like. 1. Inaccurate description/detail in the posting. Before I book it’s says good for 14 guest. Then I saw for 12 guest and then in this email it says 10 guest. 2. No details in the description that this place has video camera and that is invasion of our privacy. Or Atleast post a sign that this property is video monitored. 3. TV remote no battery and no battery cover. No way you can adjust tv volume. 4. I can’t find extra sheets or blanket in any of the rooms. 5. Wifi is a little slow and lost a few times. 6. Lacking cooking pans. 7. The gas grill I will prefer be place outside the kitchen. In general the cabin is great place and close to the interstate 40.

Perfect mountain cabin

This mountain cabin was perfect for our long weekend getaway. The rental was immaculately clean, had top quality linens/bedding, fully stocked kitchen, and beautifully decorated. Traveling with 5 kids ranging from 3-8 years, all the extra toys, games, kid-friendly dishes/cups, etc. we’re an added bonus. Would definitely recommend and return.

Lovely home, beautiful views, close proximity to attractions

This is a lovely spacious home set on a mountainside overlooking a small valley. The view is beautiful. The house is located about 30 minutes from Smoky Mt. National Park and 45 minutes from Asheville proper. It’s a 15-20 minute drive into Waynesville for groceries, restaurants, etc. The house has a “basement“ furnished as a bunk room for 3 or 4 children, including indoor play campsite, big screen TV, and bathroom. The main level living room/ kitchen opens onto a large porch overlooking the valley. The home is well maintained and very clean. There is a steep drive up a narrow road to get to the house, but the road is black-topped and in excellent condition. The house is in a gated community with several homes nearby, but the area is heavily wooded and quiet, and we felt very secluded. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
