The house is located right on Lake Rousseau. This lake is approximately 12 miles long and averages 1 to 1.5 miles wide. The Withlacoochee River runs through Lake Rousseau and helps create what the older locals call the Back Country. The river is marked with red and green channel markers. It is very important to stay between the markers because the lake is full of cypress stumps, but the stumps create great fish habits and predator hideouts. The lake and river system connects to the Rainbow River which is a 7 mile long river with crystal clear water. It is a very popular river for the tubers. Of course, you can enjoy the entire water system right from your dock or from the floating kayak dock. Bring your boat and paddle craft! You are also welcome to carefully use, at your own risk, the 2 canoes and 2 kayaks that are available during your stay. This is an ideal getaway from the city and the noise. The house has a cozy and warm feeling to it and your stay there will be very relaxing. There is cable TV, WiFi, stereo and a smart TV in case you would like to access Netflix, etc. There are also board games and cards available.
This house in the country is located right in the middle of two towns. To the east 8 miles, is Dunnellon, which is well known for its leisurely ride down the Rainbow River, and down south about 11 miles, there is the Crystal River, known for its Gulf of Mexico fishing, scalloping, a golf course, and numerous fresh water springs. It is also popular for the manatee watching. People come from all over the world to observe them.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Remove personal items and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please don't leave dirty dishes.
Leave the AC units at 80
You don't have to strip beds but my cleaners would love you if you did.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Enjoy the house and the lake but remember the good sense God gave you.
CAUTION: The lake has alligators so we must say NO SWIMMING for your safety.
No loud parties because the neighborhood residents are mostly retired and I won't allow them to be subjected to obnoxious people. It's respect.
Again NO SWIMMING. Alligators can be present. Also, slightly submerged stumps can really hurt you. Believe me.

This is such a quaint property. It is located directly on a lake with local wildlife keeping you company, as you enjoy the breathtaking sunsets.
The cabin had everything we needed to cook our meals and enjoy the scenery offered here. There are also many local restaurants to visit, if-cooking isn’t your style. The location is perfect and you can visit the different rivers and springs nearby. The host, Will, made the whole process to rent easy and stress free. His quick response to any question was appreciated! You will not be dissappointed with your stay at this unique property. We will definitely visit again.

Renee, you are too kind but of course I love your review! It's been a terrific summer, COVID and all, and guests love the house and location. It's wonderful to hear how much you enjoyed the house, too, and you are welcome to come back anytime ol time you want!
Thank you, Renee!
All the best to you and your husband

The minute we walked into the lakehouse we immediately felt right at home. The house is so cozy and inviting and the large windows looking out at the lake was beautiful. We made a hearty breakfast and sat out on the dock and admired the view, spectacular! My husband enjoyed fishing and even caught a few. There are kayaks and canoes available for use. We enjoyed ourselves so much we booked another date next month while we were still there. The owner Will is wonderful and we had no problems communicating with him. I hate to give the lakehouse such a good review because now it might be harder for us to visit again as people may want to check it out! LOL

You guys were great! I enjoyed our text messages. They made me laugh.
Get hubby to brush up on his kayaking! The TD+H guy. Lol
You all are always welcome here.
After a tornado destroyed parts of our neighborhood in March, the pandemic, quarantines, virtual school, and finally a Christmas Day bombing a couple of miles from our Nashville home, relaxing by this mesmerizing lake for a week was exactly what we needed to recover and bid farewell to 2020. The cabin is delightfully cozy, with everything we needed for the week. My favorite room was the glass enclosed den/sunroom facing the lake, where I curled up with a book on the chaise lounge and where our six year old ran to every morning to enjoy the sunrise and some bird watching.
The large yard was perfect for the kids to run and play freely, especially coming from a house in the city. We enjoyed morning coffee and evening meals and cocktails on the quiet dock. The lake is absolutely beautiful, and my family thoroughly enjoyed using the kayaks and fishing in it, every single day. The kids were delighted to catch several fish!
We ordered grocery delivery from Publix on our drive in, so we were able to have a fully stocked kitchen before breakfast the next morning. The pantry was already stocked with essentials like spices and oil when we arrived. The town of Dunnellon was less than a ten minute drive for anything we needed. We mostly cooked, but did order takeout from nearby Gyros King one night and it was great! We did a couple of excursions to Crystal River to see the manatees and Rainbow Springs State Park, both within a thirty minute drive.
The weather was sunny and 70's every day, making this location such a fabulous destination for those escaping the winter.
We could not be more appreciative to the owner for sharing this wonderful property with us, helping give us a renewed sense of hope as we welcomed in the new year.
We had a lovely stay in this small cabin. The home was clean and had everything you’d need. The kids really enjoyed fishing off the back deck and using the canoes provided. The location was perfect - close to Rainbow Springs tubing/swimming. My son is already planning our next visit. The owner was also extremely helpful with area info.
We loved staying at Will's house this past week. The lake was beautiful and we made friends with a little alligator we named Ally. She was up waiting for us every morning. Will was very attentive with every questions I had and made the renting process very easy. We will hopefully be back next year!
This house was perfect, very clean and stocked with supplies! Will the owner made some great suggestions for dinner and answered all my questions. We are looking forward to visiting again in the future!
This is home is on a beautiful piece of property right on the lake with a spacious deck. The yard is well cared for. The covered front seating area with several grills was a great place to escape from the afternoon rain. The kitchen is very small and there isn’t an actual oven but the refrigerator was large and cold. Will the owner was extremely helpful and responsive. The location is an easy drive to the restaurants and shops in Dunnellon.

Wonderful relaxing place
This house was well stocked, had comfortable beds, and was very clean. The owner made sure to let us know he was available for questions and addressing issues but there were none. Lack of a dishwasher was the only "make-do" we identified, but this was absolutely worth it for the view and wonderful outdoor spaces. Wifi and phone signal were excellent. The sunroom at the back provided additional space to relax in so that my family of five (all teenagers) never felt overcrowded. We would definitely stay here again.
