Happy Valley Chalet is a beautiful 2 story home on 35 acres of tranquility. There are 3 separate outdoor spaces to enjoy. A large open deck overlooking a winding mountain stream, (a perfect place for star gazing), a screened in porch with a ceiling fan for those lazy afternoons and a patio . There is a built-in garage for your sports equipment; kayaks, paddle boards, bikes, and motorcycles (room for approximately 8 motorcycles). There is an outside fire ring next to the wandering stream .There is also a propane grill available for all you barbecue chefs.
Happy valet chalet has plenty of room to park anything that you want to bring. Check out the pictures in the website.
Happy Valley is a mile and a half from the Dragon so if you want to go for a long ride or you just want to go for a short ride is very convenient.


NO animals allowed under any Circumstance The house has a gourmet kitchen, internet, satellite TV, Foosball table, ping pong table and a DVD player.
There's 2 smart TV so bring your passwords. There are several walking trails on the property as well.
There is A Jacuzzi on property .

My covid 19 Cleaning routine
I never do back-to-back rentals I always wait at least 48 hours.
I use pure Rubbing alcohol on Frequent touched places Door knobs, light switches ,frigerator handle ,TV Remotes etc....
General cleaning I use a CDC approved Disinfectant.

Unfortunately we have had several large groups not follow the House Rules and disrespect the property. Happy Valley chalet is NOT a PARTY HOUSE! So if you're wanting to consume an extremely large amount of alcohol please pick another location. Happy Valley is not suited for children so therefore NO CHILDREN are allowed It also needs to be noted that we do have wild animals in the area including bear. So therefore please do not leave any food on outside tables or by the fire pit.

Amazing place

Absolutely beautiful here. We had plenty of room for everyone. Bridgette is extremely accommodating and super nice. So close to the Dragon129 and the Smokeys. We will be planning a yearly trip here.

Great place, lots of room and comfort

Two families with kiddos for Spring Break. Lots of room to hike and explore. Hot tub and deck areas are great. Plenty of kitchen stuff, extra towels, blankets - very accommodating! Bridget was great in communicating all details and in making our stay very satisfying.

Family reunion

We had a wonderful time at the Happy Valley chalet. We had 12 family members from 4 different states. It was centrally located for us. The home is so spacious, the windows provide awesome views and the flowing stream sounds amazing! The kitchen is equipped with everything you need but the whole place has everything! We had a fabulous time and look forward to coming back again.

The place was great!

Great every time

Closest big home next to the dragon, location takes the cake for me. This time the hot tub was broken, which is a big thing for some of the guest, but we love the house for all the other amenities, so no sweat! Will come back next year.

Great place for a family reunion on a seclude area

The house is well kept and plenty of social area. The kitchen/dining/living room is ample and open. Owners keep the place in good conditions and plenty of activities to do if opt to stay inside (movies, books, board games, jacuzzi, etc.) Overall, a great place to stay in the mountains and surrounded areas.

Just right for a trip to Tail of the Dragon

The house is a great fit for a small to medium sized group. It is isolated enough to relax without the sounds of the city but close enough to get the comforts you might need

A great spot to vacation with friends!

We spent a week here with friends from all over the United States, and couldn't have had a better time. Plenty of sleeping arrangements, room for activities, good proximity to US129/The Dragon and surrounding areas and attractions, and just off the beaten path enough to be a peaceful place to wind down from the day. We'll be back next year!

PEACEFUL, RELAXING, TRANQUILITY

My husband and I chose this house for our honeymoon and after we stepped in the door we wanted to BUY it! We were so relaxed, and so close to the dragon. You couldn't beat it! Plenty of sleeping arrangements for our friends that came down for the weekend! We're hoping to get this place every year for our annual retreat!

Great location for the Tail of the Dragon. Spacious, quiet, space for bikes, and cars to park, yes!

Myself and 13 of my friends brought 11 bikes and 4 cars to have fun at the dragon. This was the perfect spot, 15 minutes (or less) to the overlook, spacious for all 14 of us. Hot tub, kitchen, balcony, this place has it all. Also, the landlord Bridget is very friendly and easy to work with! Will definitely stay here from now on!

Totally Awesome 80th Birthday!

This was the perfect spot for our family's birthday celebrations! We had 9 people and 4 dogs with lots of room to spare. The weather was perfect. The wildflowers, the humming birds, and the gold finches were beautiful and plentiful. We enjoyed walks to the creek at the end of the property where the dogs romped and played for hours! The hot tub was great for our aching muscles after attempting to hike Abram's Falls or fierce foosball games. The house had everything we could need right down to the birthday candles! Look forward to coming back again and again!

Pleasant stay

We recently spent a weekend at the chalet with 8 friends. The setting is beautiful & the chalet fit our needs perfectly. We could enjoy quiet times together, go hiking, or explore the Great Smoky Mountain Park. We hope to go back!

What a great vacation!

If your a motorcycle enthusiast, the tail of the dragon is the mecca for experienced riders. We rented the cabin over memorial weekend and had a unbelievable time! The house is a way better option than the cabins in the mountains. For us the parking has been a huge issue in the past, but there is ample parking (on flat land even). We had a few very small requests during our stay and the homeowner took care of them quickly, she was a very good hostess. The house is very close to main roads, but sits off the road enough that it is a very private setting. This will not be our last time staying at Happy Valley Chalet!!! Thanks again from Mike and the Family!!

Great Place to Stay

Wonderful place to get away from the city. A beautiful stream runs through the property. We relaxed in the hot tub, toasted smores over the fit pit, watched the moon come over the mountain, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. There was plenty of parking for our cars and the house had everything we needed to feel at home. It was clean and well appointed. The owner, Bridget, was very helpful and communicated well with us.

I am a pre-school teacher in Maryville, Tennesse. I grew up in Marietta, Georgia, moved to California and eventually returned to the southeast. I am an avid cyclist, kayaker and outdoor person. I love the quiet serenity at Happy Valley Chalet and hiking on the beautiful 35 acres, In the Beautiful Great Smoky Mountains.

Why they chose this property

I purchased the Happy Valley property for the serenity. I moved back to Marietta from California and although Marietta offered a great deal of diversity, I longed for the forests and mountains. I found Happy Valley Chalet just driving around outside Maryville, Tennessee and feel in love with the property, its serenity, its forests and all the wild life in the area.

What makes this property unique

The chalet sits on an open field overlooking a wonderful mountain stream . The chalet has floor to ceiling windows in the living room so you can watch the sun rise, sunset star gaze and enjoy the sound of the mountain stream. I chose the property for its privacy. Although there are several wonderful neighbors close by, you can not see their homes from the property so there is lots of privacy.
