We stayed 2 months in this lovely home. It's bright and open with many thoughtful furnishings. The owner provided many supplies: laundry soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher detergent. This was the most thoughtfully supplied house we've rented. The fenced backyard was great for our dachshund and the neighborhood cats got used to him after a few weeks. It's 10 minutes from downtown and South Congress shops are only a couple minutes away. There is a bus stop 1 block away on First Street that is very convenient if you don't feel like driving downtown. The smart tv is set for streaming so many channels you'll always have something to watch when you're not out listening to all the great music Austin has to offer. Austin is our favorite city and we spend time here every year. We will definitely come back to this great house!

Ann, it was a delight to host you. Thanks for your thoughtfulness and care with our home. Come back again! Susan and Duncan
We couldn't have asked for a better stay at Susan's home. The location and property are amazing and we wished we would have booked for longer than just a one month stay. My partner and I came down to Austin for work and had plenty of space to spread out and work in our own separate rooms in the house during the day. The house is a quick drive to all of the hot spots in Austin, but if you don't want to drive, our average Uber cost was about $8. Our dog loved the backyard during the day, and as an added bonus the school across the street turned into an interim dog park after 5pm each night which she thoroughly enjoyed! Susan was delightful to communicate with and we hope to be back very soon.

And we could not have asked for better guests that Molly, Dave, and their dog, Marge! They were super easy to communicate with, warm and friendly, and treated the house with utmost respect. Please come back anytime!

I'm a NY Times best-selling author of 9 books, a meditation teacher, and cat lover who thinks Austin is the greatest city ever. I travel a lot for work and am happy to share this perfectly located piece of the real South Austin.
Why they chose this property
I lived in South Austin in the 90s and have always longed to come back. People say Austin has changed--and it has, of course. It is bigger, more exciting, more urban--but, to me, it still has its soul fully intact.
What makes this property unique
The moment I walked into this house, I fell in love with how light and airy it felt. The living room has two large skylights and the floors are white marble, giving it a tremendously bright vibe. It is "old South Austin" at its finest--soulful, unique, and a little bohemian.
