Quiet but close to everything.

The property was clean and the beds were comfortable. Unique closets with plenty of storage. Also there were many hangers which is always a plus. The yard was messy and unkempt, but did not use the yard. Overall a good location to rent for south Austin.

Just OUTSTANDING!

Susan’s home is just wonderful. It’s in a fantastic location, we were able to walk to lots of great food and shopping on South 1st and Congress Ave. The bonus was the excellent greens and herbs from her garden! The property is in a quiet neighborhood, very peaceful and stylish. Also uncluttered, which I love. Beds were SUPER comfy. Really everything we needed for our two-month stay. I highly recommend this place and location. Susan is a FABULOUS host, very communicative and thoughtful on all accounts. Would definitely love to call this place our home away from home in the future!

Ideal for a visit and to catch the Austin vibe

It's just a terrific place to stay and enjoy the Austin vibe! The house itself was fantastic, and the location was superb. It was fantastic because the owner, Susan, was straightforward and so friendly to work with if anything came up. Her suggestions of where to visit were spot on. You sensed that she wanted to ensure a great visit. The house had an overall sense of calm about it. And the yoga room certainly added to that. It was just enough house for us and any out-of-town visitors. The school playground across the street became an assembly of dogs (only after school), which our Golden loved. There were so many buddies to run with! Outside, the landscaping was all organic, which added to the good vibrations of this house. Ethan, the landscaper, was informative, and we took some of his advice home with us. And what a terrific, nice guy! And the location?! Simply ideal! Close enough to downtown, Lady Bird, SoCo, and other points of interest. It was just so convenient for a last-minute decision to go see live music, stroll (St. Edward's University is also a beautiful campus, and you can watch college athletics), grab some barbecue, or just people-watch. The neighborhood is quiet, even with the delightful laughter of children during recess, and it is ideal for morning and evening walks. And the friendliness of the people of Austin. So genuine, helpful, and affirming. We enjoyed our weeks there so much. It helped us find peace, laughter, and enjoyment. Everything we wanted in

I lived in South Austin in the 90s and have always longed to come back. People say Austin has changed--and it has, of course. It is bigger, more exciting, more urban--but, to me, it still has its soul fully intact.

What makes this property unique

The moment I walked into this house, I fell in love with how light and airy it felt. The living room has two large skylights and the floors are white marble, giving it a tremendously bright vibe. It is "old South Austin" at its finest--soulful, unique, and a little bohemian.
