Beautiful location. Awesome beach park right across the road. Loved sitting on the lanai with my book and coffee every morning. Grounds were very pretty. Conveniently close to town but far enough to be quiet. Easy drive to the volcano.
From the moment we stepped through the door, we were in awe. The home is absolutely beautiful and has all the amenities. The real show stopper is the deck that faces the ocean. Highly recommend this place!
Started out west. Than moved over to Hilo. It was the perfect spot to stay at. Wished we'd gone over sooner and stayed for a longer period in Hilo Oasis.
We really appreciated this house! Everything is clean and ready. The kitchen had all the little fixings needed to buy groceries and cook.It is right by these amazing swimming coves. We saw many turtles and snorkeled with a lot
What a great place to relax and go snorkeling. The place is immaculate. Clean, great view, and the host is awsome. If your on the big island this isbthe place to stay.
We had a wonderful stay. Across the street from the ocean, listing to the waves at night was perfect. We spent most of our time on the lanai. Such a wonderful place to relax.
This is a relaxing, beautiful home with a lovely ocean view. We easily found everything we needed, and appreciated helpful communications with the property manager. A very easy walk to the sea from the house. Mahalo hosts :)
We are so grateful to have found this house.
To sit on the lanai and watch whales was a treat. The access to anything we needed, or wanted was close.
This was our second stay, and we hope to return!

Singular and unique
Stay here if you have the opportunity. Very comfortable local-style home with modern amenities. A historic location, vibrant, and relaxing.
Listen to the waves at night and see the sunrise in the morning.

The beach park across the street was lively, but quieted down before closing. The local people were warm and friendly, with lots of families including grandparents and little kids. The water was clear, and calm within the protection of the coves.

Lovely property, but management problems
This property was exceptional in many ways. It’s across the road from a beach park with good snorkeling locations, and has a lovely lanai with a killer beach view. We loved the resident feral jungle fowl visitors. The untold amenities were water shoes in several sizes, and a clothesline for swimsuits and towels. Lots of condiments in the fridge, including ketchup, mustard, mayo, salad dressing and others. The management company, however, was less than stellar. It didn’t respond through the VRBO app at all. The property contact was equally unresponsive. The listing promised beach chairs, but there were none. The coffee carafe was cracked when we arrived, but, after two requests, was not replaced by the end of our visit. Also, we were unable to use the entertainment system. All attempts to connect to the streaming apps was met with an error message about the internet connection.Because of the location, I would stay there again, but would confirm that our issues had been addressed.

Hi Guy, the right vacation home is everything, and we’re sorry to hear that noise from the surrounding area impacted your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- While we can’t control nearby properties or street activity, we understand how noise can affect the overall experience and are sorry it disrupted your time outdoors.- The county does enforce quiet hours from 9 PM to 8 AM, and we encourage all nearby guests to follow these guidelines out of respect for the neighborhood. Thanks for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the views, and we’ll continue doing our part to create a welcoming space for future guests.
We stayed for 4 nights in February, and loved it. The deck is perfect for coffee in the morning and to sit and enjoy the breeze in the afternoon. The kitchen was great and we loved how spacious this space was both inside and outside. We loved seeing the honus in the lagoon across the street and how quiet the area was at night. There's nothing bad to say about this place--I can't wait to go back. Mahalo to Thom for all of his help.
Could not have landed a better spot on the Hilo side of the island. Beautiful neighborhood and excellent location. Across the street from the beach park and 10 minutes outside of town it was an excellent stay for 3 days. Some may not enjoy the experience of the local Tacoma boyz culture but we loved it and had fun rating all the suped up cars peeling out over the speedbumps. It only last till about 7-8pm when they close the park gates so it makes for great evening entertainment. If you are lucky enough to get a clear night the stars are incredible from the front yard.
We are so happy with this stay that we plan to come back again for sure. It made our stay worth it and we made awesome memories. Richardson beach is a few steps away so we took advantage of how close it is and visited often. I just wished it had AC, that will be the only negative. Other than that, they have everything you might need to enjoy your stay in Hilo. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home with us. Mahalo, R’s Family
This is a very nice place to stay for two couples or a couple and 1 or 2 kids. The bedrooms are somewhat small and only one bath. The closets had plenty of hangers and towels. There is no AC, but plenty of fans to keep the air moving. The refrigerator has built-in filtered water, nice touch. The charm of this place is the location and yard. It is right across the road from the shoreline and within minutes of town. There are feral chickens strutting around and coqui frogs at night. We found these entertaining and they seemed to keep the bugs at bay. Some folks mentioned the noise from the street and the park across the way, but we just poured an adult beverage and sat on the huge lanai and watched the free show. This house worked well for us while touring the Hilo side of the island.
This house is very nice with everything one would need.Right across the street are 3 beaches which lead to many blasting stereo cars driving up and down this road as there is a dead end turn around 2 blocks from house. The couches (futons) are not the most comfortable to sit on.The absolute worst part is the next door neighbors 3 very large dogs that start barking 5:00am every day with the neighbor interacting with them. With no air conditioning and the bedroom open windows 10’ from the fence line makes for an unacceptable serene ocean morning.
