Pool, Panoramic Views – Dordogne & Lot Gîte
Escape to the unspoiled countryside of Southwest France and discover Las Vignotes de Léa, a charming and secluded home perched above the picturesque village of Payrac, in the Lot. With its private pool, sweeping valley views, and stylish comfort, this is the perfect place to disconnect, unwind, and explore the treasures of the Lot and Dordogne regions. Whether you're looking for tranquil poolside days, cultural discovery, or culinary indulgence, this is your perfect French escape.
Set on 1.5 acres of private land, Las Vignotes de Léa offers a serene, elevated position surrounded by lush greenery, where deer often wander by and birdsong fills the air. Inside, the home is lovingly restored and thoughtfully equipped. The master bedroom offers breathtaking valley views and ample wardrobe space. The second bedroom sleeps up to three guests with a bunk bed (double on the bottom, single on top). A convertible sofa bed in the living area offers space for two additional guests. The open-plan living room features a wood-burning stove, board games, playing cards, and a TV with French channels and Netflix (with your account).
The modern, brand-new kitchen includes a fridge-freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and full cookware and dinnerware – everything you need to feel at home. The bathroom includes a walk-in power shower, double sinks, and a separate WC. Families with young children are welcome – we provide a cot, high chair, and baby bath upon request.
Step outside into your own private paradise. Enjoy a dip in the private pool, soak up the sun on loungers, dine al fresco on the shaded terrace, and enjoy peaceful evenings with a glass of local wine and a BBQ dinner. The outdoor space is tranquil, private, and perfect for unwinding. Watch the sun set behind the hills and keep an eye out for local deer grazing nearby.
Located in the heart of the Lot region, Les Vignotes de Léa is an ideal base for exploring both the Lot and Dordogne valleys. The spectacular cliffside village of Rocamadour – France’s second most visited heritage site – is just a short drive away. Nearby you’ll also find some of France’s most beautiful villages including Sarlat, Domme, La Roque-Gageac, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Autoire, and Beynac. History lovers will enjoy visits to ancient châteaux, Romanesque abbeys, and the spectacular Gouffre de Padirac cave system, just 38 km away.
Food and wine lovers will find plenty to enjoy – from bustling local markets to authentic restaurants, farm shops, and the famous Malbec vineyards of Cahors. Try local delicacies such as truffles, duck, foie gras, and walnut-based desserts. The Lot and Dordogne rivers are perfect for canoeing, swimming, boat trips, and riverside picnics. There are also plenty of scenic walking and cycling trails to explore right from the doorstep.
The house accommodates up to seven guests comfortably and is perfect for couples, families with children, or friends looking for a relaxing escape. Towels and bed linen can be arranged for an additional fee, and we offer both self check-in and personal meet-and-greet depending on your preference. WiFi is available, and private parking is provided on-site. Please email us in advance if you require baby gear or would like to discuss bringing a pet.

About the host
Hosted by Susan O'Driscoll

Hey everyone. We're Susan & JP and we have a daughter Lila and son Marlo. We live in Dublin but JP is originally from Payrac so we know this area like the back of our hands and can give you lots of insider tips - what to see and even more importantly where to eat! :) We're both keen foodies (JP is a chef) and we love to travel. We recently built this house as a summer getaway for our family as well as a holiday rental so that others can enjoy everything we love about the beautiful Lot and Dordogne areas of France!! It really is an exceptional place. We look forward to welcoming you to Las Vignotes de Lea! :)
Why they chose this property
We built this house in 2018 on family land we inherited. JP is from this village and we wanted to showcase the stunning area to other curious travellers.
We are located really close to some of France's most famous villages and there are so many other attractions with prehistoric caves, a monkey forest, a waterpark, lakeside beaches, river swimming and canoeing and the best food you've ever tasted in your life! Not to mention the castles and medieval architecture everywhere that is just so unique and pretty and typically French. This is the real France you've been dreaming of!

What makes this property unique
The views from the master bedroom are hard to beat! An expansive private garden of 1.5 acreas overlooks the pretty Payrac village and it's a perfect way to start the day when you open up those French shutters.
The area is so peaceful and I love being woken up to just the sound of the birds tweeting. It's very private and so relaxing.
