About this property
Welcome to the Grandview. A mountain retreat with a grand view!
You have to climb the mountain if you want to see the view. Our cozy cabin with its beautiful view and quiet atmosphere is only 15 minutes from the quaint town of Berkeley Springs and Hancock and just 30 minutes from the Cacapon state park. There is a beautiful stone fireplace outside on the wrap around deck perfect for smores. Cornhole and foosball games. Dartboard and poker table for your enjoyment . Both upstairs bedrooms have queen beds. One bedroom downstairs has a queen bed and the other bedroom has 2 twin beds. There is a futon upstairs that folds out to a full size bed. Both bathrooms have jetted tubs wonderful for soaking after a long hike. There is no WiFi service at the cabin, and while the cabin provides a lot of privacy it is part of a community so while it can be remote their are others on the mountain which we find comforting. The cabin is a wonderful place to social distance but cell service can be spotty at times. We do offer direct tv and dvd's players but please be aware there is no WiFi. Please be aware that the road to the cabin is a gravel road and is somewhat a steep climb. You do not need 4 wheel drive to get there but very low sitting cars may drag.

We enjoyed staying at this place. It was a nice quiet place. We especially enjoyed the quiet nature, birds and butterflies. The view is great!
Pretty much NO connection for our phones, but we still enjoyed it. The beds were comfy!
Loved your beautiful cabin! Thank you for your great communication too. The cabin was a challenge to get to especially after the rainstorm, but the view and accommodations were amazing. One suggestion would be to add Wi-Fi as it was impossible to communicate with other friends in the area.
We were not disappointed in the least! Just like we remembered it from our former stay! Thank you for the privilege to stay again at your beautiful cabin!
Jimmy and Mandy have put in so much love and hard work to make a home that is welcoming to all their guest and grandkids. The view was breathtaking and the house was immaculate. I do warn have a 4x4 vehicle or something that can climb cause the mountain road is steep! Also be prepared for dobsonfly’s in the dozens at night.
A guys trip to remember. The location of this cabin is perfect for a quiet getaway with great views. the cabin was very clean and comfortable for 4 guys. Located near river which has great kayaking, rope swings, rock jumps, and swimming. We greatly enjoyed this trip and hope to return again.
This place was amazing. The owners do so much extra you feel you are staying with family. Such a relaxing, beautiful getaway. Pictures don’t do justice. We will definitely be back. Thank you for an fantastic getaway.
Wow! It was a wonderful getaway! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The deck was an amazing place to view sunrise and sunset! We would love to return at some point! We were just wowed with everything!
The home is beautiful and extremely well-kept. The land is also gorgeous, quiet and secluded. Communication and coming and going very clear and easy. Just a delight if you are trying to get away from the hustle and bustle.
Our stay at the Grandview was simply amazing! The house and property are beautiful, clean and spacious and the view was stunning! My mom, sisters and I were looking for a getaway from the busyness of our regular lives as well as a place to recharge, relax and reconnect... and we found it here! The owners were easy to work with and were so great at getting back to us quickly when we had questions. I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay again.
Amazing stay in Cacapon. Place is idyllic. You really should have a 4x4 to get up the final hill. We almost didn’t make it multiple times. Scary situation! Also, there are 2 of this address. One in Cacapon and one in Berkeley. Make sure you enter the one in Cacapon! Otherwise amazing amazing amazing!
This trip was wonderful. The house and the view were amazing. The owners have made it so convenient to stay there with the kitchen stocked to make meals. They even have menus and suggestions for local restaurants so you can find somewhere to eat. Believe me ...listen to them. They suggested Buddy Lous and it was delicious!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Grandview. From start to finish the owners made it a great experience. Made our 3 day stay perfect. Communication was excellent. Lots of info about surrounding area such as where to eat and places to visit. We would recommend this to anyone. We are definitely planning on going back next year.
We were looking for a place in the mountains to relax, grill, play yard games, and listen to music...well we picked the right place! The setting was beautiful and quiet. Jim and Mandy have a super clean home with a great open floor plan. We'll be back next year for sure!!!
Stayed at Grandview for the second time. WE LOVE THIS PROPERTY! It is our fall family trip! Host is quickly responsive to questions. Property is stunning in views, cleanliness, and amenities. Great for children as well as adults! Can't recommend any more highly! Experience is well worth the trip up the mountain to have a great time!
beautiful and clean with a great view !! roads getting there a little sketchy but they tell you just believe them LOL overall i loved my stay with my 4 nephews ...good time
5 Sr ladies retreat, property was fantastic! More was provided than any place we have ever stayed! We will definitely return. Climbing the mtn was worth the reward! The GRANDVIEW RETREAT is perfectly named! It delivers on a GRAND VIEW! Highest quality in every respect! Simply outstanding!
The property is absolutely gorgeous and very well maintained. We enjoyed our trip so much, we were very relaxed and had a very quiet location. The kids enjoyed the area to explore and play and we were able to do some exploring in town as well. The Pooles were great and easy to work with for the checking in process. They also left great directions for all appliances etc. as well as lots of handy hints for attractions. We definitely would enjoy a second visit. Thank you again for a much needed get away. This was the best provisioned place I’ve ever rented thru VRBO!! Absolutely beautiful home with gorgeous surroundings! Wonderful deck w/ outdoor fireplace which we enjoyed fully! The beds are SUPER-COMFY, great towels, water pressure in showers and plenty of pans, dishes - even plastic containers for left-overs! We lacked absolutely nothing! The drive up is very narrow and steep, but hard to keep your head from swiveling looking at all of the beauty around you! Definitely want to return there!
This is an amazing home, the views were gorgeous and the house was spectacular. You wanted for nothing, the hosts thought of everything. Dealing with the Poole’s could not have been easier. This by far as been the greatest experience we’ve had in the 10 years we’ve been using VRBO. If I could give them 10 stars I would!

About the host
Hosted by Mandy and Jimmy Poole
We bought this cabin and totally renovated it to have a weekend getaway for ourselves that would allow us to disconnect for a while but still be close to towns where we could reconnect and socialize . At the time we had 2 kids in college, fast forward and we now have 2 children and 2 in-law children and have just been blessed with our 4th grandchild. Our children and their families love to spend time at the cabin but as it is with life other things take precedence and we don’t seem to get up here as much. So we thought why not let others enjoy this area and our cabin.
Why they chose this property
What originally brought us to this area was the Cacapon state park and it’s wonderful golf course. After spending time in Berkeley springs and Hancock we decided to look for a cabin. Even though there are many things to do and places to eat we actually love just staying at the cabin. It is very quiet and extremely relaxing.
What makes this property unique
The view is by far one of the best features at the cabin but the peace and quiet were what sold me personally There is no WiFi which some may see as a detriment but we never miss it. There is cell phone service can be spotty at times. we have a good direct tv package for tv viewing but there is no internet service.
