About this property
Texas Ranch Style Home on over 5 acres in Driftwood and Austin area.
Our limestone home has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, 2 bedrooms and a full bath upstairs, and a guest bedroom, half bath and master bedroom and master bath with large jacuzzi tub downstairs. The house is on over 5 acres and is located twenty minutes from downtown Austin and at the gateway to the Hill Country with many vineyards, distilleries, breweries and wedding venues within a few miles. We are 3 miles from the world famous Salt Lick BBQ and less than a mile from Chapel Dulcinea where over 500 weddings a year occur. We are a slice of the Friday Mountain Ranch that was a boys camp for many years and a part of Texas history. The property features a sand volleyball court and seasonal creek, a nice pasture and many large oak trees. We have a lighted outdoor dining table under the large oaks that seats up to 16 and a propane and charcoal grill for your use. This is the perfect set-up wedding parties, family gatherings, girls weekends and bachelorette parties.

We raised our two daughters here who have grown up and moved out but remain in the area. About ten years ago we built a cabin on the adjacent property and we will usually be there and available to our guests if needed. Why they chose this property
We found our niche of the Texas Hill Country with majestic oaks, a seasonal creek and views of the local hills, specifically Friday Mountain which has a Texas history. When we bought this property we had no idea of the growth of attractions and events that would be coming to this area but it really is one of the best locations to take advantage of not only Austin, but all of the hill country attractions, wineries, distilleries and wedding venues.
What makes this property unique
You are bordered by a 200+ acre Hindu property that are great neighbors that we seldom hear, a thirty acre ranch behind us and another 7+ acre residence next to us so lots of privacy you don't get in a neighborhood. chapeldulcinea.org is on the hill behind our house and you will hear the bells ring each time there is a wedding, which is over 500 times a year. Chapel Dulcinea is located at the The Wizard Academy which is unique to the area ( wizardacademy.org ) which also houses the CrowdedBarrelWhiskey.com tasting room. We are three minutes from the famous Salt Lick BBQ and the new Driftwood Country Club designed by Tom Fazio which has multiple celebrity land owners. We have a new HEB grocery store five minutes away and multiple restaurants in Belterra Village, also five minutes away. After rush hour traffic dies down you can get to downtown Austin in about 20 minutes for a night of entertainment. Or you can head south for a river float in San Marco or New Braunfels within an hour with San Antonio just over an hour away. Fredericksburg is an hour away and Lake Travis is only 35 minutes away. If you want a hill country dip to cool off Hamilton Pool, Blue Hole, Jacob's Well, Barton Springs and the spring fed San Marcos River are all within 45 minutes.
