Enchanted Valley View, Unit 1

We are nestled in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. Our fabulous hilltop location overlooking several lush valleys inspired our name. The Enchanted Valley View is a fully furnished guest residence with a fabulous panoramic view of the surrounding valleys. The master bedroom offers a rustic flavor with a queen size bed, flat screen TV and access to a full patio overlooking the valleys. The other bedroom is spacious with a full size bed and walk-in closet. The fully equipped kitchen has plenty of counter space, a glass top electric range, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator and all necessary utensils. A set of french doors from the kitchen will lead you to the glass enclosed sun room that overlooks the valleys. There are patios on either side of the sun room ready for barbecuing or simply relaxing in the fresh country air. The living room offers extra sleeping space with a queen size sofa bed. The large bathroom has a full size shower.

The house and property are beautiful and truly made for a very comfortable and cozy stay. The views are fantastic and the house was the perfect getaway space for a long weekend exploring the Finger Lakes. Jim was a wonderful host! He communicated everything we needed to know for our stay effectively and is very kind for opening his family home to travelers seeking a quiet and peaceful retreat. We enjoyed all of the unique decor and family history that can be seen throughout the home. We had a wonderful stay and hope to visit again someday!

Just what we needed

Had a great stay at this location. It had everything that we needed. The view was absolutly stunning. The host was responsive. We had a wasp nest outside of our front door and I texted him to let him know before we left for the day. When we returned in the evening the wasp issue was resolved. We would stay here again.

After reviewing the posting as an "entire house" it wasnt clear this was a converted duplex. So there was just a stair well connecting the units and clearly no noise mitigation between floors. Also on the nights the lower unit was not rented the owner/property manager stayed in the unit. I would echo previous reviews: bee infestations on both porches, garbage from previous renters was still outside and cans full, while not filthy, the unit was not clean, very poor water pressure, broken furniture, previous renters food left in the fridge.The view was very nice...but the windows were very dirty.

Breathtaking view with peace & quiet

Best view of the area, high above the gorge. Close to the gorge, waterfront, hiking trails, wineries and restaurants. Very responsive owner.

The property has amazing panoramic views and ample space inside. Jim has good response time to messages, and accommodated our check-in which wound up being in the evening time. We would definitely stay at Jim’s place again if he’d have us! Thanks Jim!

Location is Beautiful!

First off, the name “Enchanted View “, doesn’t do it justice! The view is Amazing! We spent pretty much the whole time either in the sun room or deck overlooking it all. There were deer in the field below, both in the evening and morning. If we ever make a return trip, I know I would definitely look at booking it again.

Summer stay at Jim’s family home

Jim offers his older, well-lived in, life-long family home for your stay. We weren’t accustomed to this type of set-up with there being many areas that fell short of preparedness, cleanliness, decluttering, repairs, provisions for eight and general maintenance. We’re happy to share examples as the property could be a gem for a traveling family.

Wonderful views in a most peaceful setting

Views from the hilltop property were wide open of the lovely Watkins Glen/Finger Lakes area. House made the most of the views both indoors and outside. Unit was clean and well furnished and owner was immediately responsive. Even let us know my niece left her party shoes which I was able to swing by and pick up. Highly recommend!

Beautiful view

The view was beautiful. We arrived in the dark and we were not able to get a hold of the owner to verify we were at the correct home(we had been told it would be unlocked and lights on. It was unlocked but no lights and we didn't want to be walking into the wrong home). We weren't there long, the view was amazing but the beds were VERY VERY uncomfortable, which was disappointing as we had been traveling all day long. The shower was like none other we had ever seen. Directions on how to get the water to come out of the shower would have been helpful. We did get to chat the next morning with the owner and he apologized for the lack of communication. He was very nice. Our stay was short and uncomforatable.

As they say, location location location. Come for the view, stay for the view. Jim is a welcoming and gracious host, the house is warm and homey, and to be honest, we spent all of our time in the sunroom overlooking the valley. Looking forward to being able to stay there again next time I visit Watkins Glen

Beautiful and peaceful....this home in the country was spotless, and offerred absolutely everything we could possibly need. Spacious, incredibly stocked kitchen......and country views for miles. Our dog was so happy to romp in the gigantic grassy property, and we all enjoyed the sunset visit from 8 deer

Beautiful scenery, gorgeous views! You don’t want to miss out on the views from the decks on this home. The home is welcoming and cozy. Plenty of room for families or friends. And fun to walk around reminiscing at some of the antiques and memborlia. Will be back next fall!

Jim was a great host: very communicative and welcoming. The unit has amazing views of a beautiful valley and surrounding hills, which can be enjoyed from the decks or large sunroom. Sunrise was beautiful. Even though the property feels quite rural, it is close to the village of Watkins Glen, the state park and Seneca Lake, making it an excellent location with lots of activity options and places to eat. There are lots of interesting pieces of art, antiques and other historical knick knacks that are really fun to look at. My dog was obsessed with sitting in the sunroom and watching deer down in the field.I could have stayed a few days there, just enjoying how peaceful it was.
