Perfect Week in Nags Head
I spend the most wonderful final summer week before the start of school at the property with my 14yo daughter and her friend. They had a very strong vision of what a week on OBX would be like and they (and I) were not disappointed. The house sits just south of mile marker 10 (you have to know your mile markers) on a quiet street just a short minute walk to a wonderful clean sandy beach. The house is exactly as it is described with room for everyone. The house was exceptionally clean, mattresses were very comfortable and the kitchen a great open concept really well equipped for cooking and serving. The front porch and furniture are wonderful; can sit there any time of day and hear the waves. The back porch was great too but gets hit with intense sun most of the time and the wood is pretty worn (wear shoes to avoid splinters). Loved the outdoor shower which we used every day. The house came equipped with two bikes beach chairs an umbrella and some other beach things. The bikes were great but one was too high for any of us so we rented at a local shop down the street. My girls jumped on the bikes every day and just road all over.
I really liked the location. Although the street itself is quiet, it sits in the middle of the excitement of nags head and a very short ride, drive or walk (if you can tolerate the heat) to places to eat, have ice cream, coffee, etc.
