About this property
3,200 sf in best area. Towering Palm Trees Outside. Gorgeous Original Art Inside
Gorgeous historic landmark on a 15,000 sf lot in the best part of Oakland, right on the Piedmont border. Huge Living room, family room, dining room, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all on one floor. Very high ceilings. Tons of space. Phenomenal art collection.
The sleeping arrangements and bathrooms are as follows:
#1 bedroom - 1 king bed, 1 twin. Beautiful Bathroom of stone and glass en suite.
#2 bedroom - 1 king bed.
#3 bedroom - Bunks, which are Queens both above and below. So, each bunk is easily big enough to sleep 2 people.
Bedrooms 2 & 3 share a bathroom that was just remodeled with beautiful tile work and an oversized bathtub.
Living room and family room - three very large couches. Each as big or bigger than twin beds.
Assuming the kings and queens are shared by two people each, and the couches are used as beds, the above layout sleeps 13 people. Airbeds and bedding for the sofas are available, but PLEASE REQUEST them, if you need them. For sofa and airbeds, the bedding is provided, but we don't make the beds. Because our cleaners do their best work when following a standard process, we ask that you inflate the air beds and make the sofas.
Please note that this listing and pricing does not include: 1) a small, detached cottage in the back. It's further away from the house than the nearest neighbor. This may be available to rent, but usually is not; 2) The garage and several areas of storage; 3) A space downstairs that I use as an office and workshop. This is entered from the side of the house, far from the front door that guests use. You will not likely ever see or hear me, unless you need me for something. Please do note that I work long hours here.
If you need less space, and would like a lower price, I will consider reducing access to just 2 bedrooms.
HOUSE RULES:
Pardon the strict nature of these rules. It is imperative in this neighborhood. Otherwise, rentals of this property could be prohibited.
-- Guests must not disturb neighbors. In general, this means not being audible in neighbors' homes between 9 pm and 8 am.
-- If you hope to entertain here, we must discuss it. I may not be able to allow it. And, if allowed, additional charges do apply.
- It is imperative that you reserve with the maximum number of people, adults and children, that will be on the property at any time, day or night. Increases later are open to discussion, but if you raise that number without telling me, you will lose your security deposit and your stay may be discontinued without refund.
Thanks!

About the host
Hosted by Ej blumberg

I grew up in Orinda, a little suburb 30 minutes from San Francisco. I've spent most of my life between the Bay Area, Santa Monica (a beach city in L.A. County) and New York City. I surf, ski, snowboard, play basketball, tennis and soccer and a lot of other sports. I like art and the house is quite filled with it. I've traveled a lot, from 10 in a room hostels to luxury, and understand what makes a nice place to stay. Thank you, EJ Blumberg
