About this property

Fountain Place is the perfect setting to enjoy the many splendors of beautiful Ithaca, a quiet spot but just blocks from downtown or Cornell's Collegetown. This beautiful 1890s mansion was designed by one of Ithaca's most influential architects and served as the home of Ithaca College presidents for more than 70 years. Beautifully maintained and full of unique woodwork and architectural details, with a fully equipped modern kitchen and lots of unique spaces for socializing or retreating.

Fountain Place features 7 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 3 half baths, a solarium, drawing room, living room, game room, dining room, kitchen, and large outdoor patio area equipped with a grill and fire pit.

Guests have access the 1st and 2nd floor. The basement and 3rd floor serve as private spaces.

We will be on-call to ensure you have the best stay possible, but we will also be mindful of your privacy!

Fountain Place is a short walk to Downtown Ithaca, which features a bustling restaurant and award-winning hand-crafted store scene, as well as several popular theaters. The property overlooks the Cascadilla Gorge trail, which when hiked leads to Cornell University. The area is home to America’s first wine trail, the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, with wine tours for every taste. We pride ourselves on our knowledge of the area and are here to show you to the very best the Finger Lakes region has to offer.

Fountain Place has on-site parking for multiple vehicles and is within walking distance of the best that Ithaca has to offer, from Cascadilla Gorge to Downtown Ithaca. For those who want to venture further, we have an excellent TCAT public transportation system.

Stunning

Perfect property for a bunch of Cornell graduates in their 40s. Plenty of room and ample bathrooms - perfect in every way and an easy walk to both the commons and college town. It will be the top location of choice for years to come.

Family Reunion

A perfect week in the perfect house for a family reunion. We grew up in Ithaca and then moved away. It was fun to share our home town with our families while staying at a fantastic home base

We, Ashleigh and Ryan, are the stewards of Fountain Place. Our relationship is one in a million; high school sweethearts from Pennsylvania married in Ithaca at Cornell’s Sage Chapel. Since our wedding day we have dreamed of one day owning 2 Fountain Place. Dreams do come true!

There really is no place like Fountain Place. Beautiful woodwork, artisan tile fireplaces that inspired the decor for each room, and expansive grounds to explore and relax in. Located a short walk to Downtown Ithaca and overlooking Cascadilla Gorge. Above all, we pride ourselves on our knowledge of the area and are here to show you to the best Finger Lakes vacation possible!

What makes this property unique

This property allows for families and friends to spend quality time together. The bedrooms are all on the second floor, so the entire first floor provides room after room for quality time together, or quiet time separately. There will be no meeting in the lobby among strangers as there would be in a hotel. The space is perfect for a family holiday or catching up with old friends.
