Beautifully remodeled lake house, 5 minutes from downtown

Walking into the dining room you immediately see the amazing view out over Cayuga Lake. Sit on the large porch with your morning coffee or up in the sunroom to enjoy watching an eagle soar by. Watch the boats on the lake from the porch as you grill your dinner and enjoy the view.

The house has been lovingly restored with new kitchen and bathrooms and comfortable furnishings for your perfect lake vacation. Hang out on the beach and enjoy a fire by the water in the fire pit. Paddle out in the early morning in a kayak to watch the mist rise off the lake. All this, and only minutes from downtown Ithaca, Taughannock State Park, hiking trails, Cornell University and Ithaca College.

Our favorite spot is the second floor sunroom, where surrounded by windows you look east toward the sunrise. The living room, dining room and TV area flow together to provide space for indoor gatherings. But, you will want to spend your time outdoors on the large porch along the entire front of the house or down at the beach. A flat area part way down provides a great spot for croquet or badminton.

The five bedrooms easily accommodate up to 10 guests and have all linens provided. The beach is accessed by graceful stone stairs where a picnic table, fire pit and chairs await your beach time. A newly renovated dock and two kayaks and beach toys provide hours of lakeside fun.

You can drive right up to the front door and walk right into the kitchen, a rare amenity on the west side of the lake. The primary bedroom and bathroom are also on the first floor.

The Black Diamond rail-trail is just up the hill from the house where you can walk or bike for miles crossing beautiful small gorges with waterfalls. Ithaca is only 1.5 miles away with it’s famous Farmer’s Market and Hanger Theatre with summer plays. We are conveniently located for Cornell and Ithaca College graduations, alumni events and parent visits.

The house is located on a hillside with a steep driveway to the house, and 106 steps from the house to the lake shore.

Lovely July 4th weekend

Overall has a great time in this beautifully located house, quick access to a lakefront area with dock and fire pit was amazing. The house was very nice, maybe a bit cramped with 10 of us. But close to so many of the wonderful Finger Lakes attractions, as well as all that Ithaca has to offer.

A beautiful stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Ithaca, right on Cayuga Lake. With easy access to town but also to the many waterfalls, hikes, wineries and cideries, this property has it all. Our kids loved having private access to the lake, using the dock for fishing and swimming every day of our stay. The owners are very easy to communicate with, accommodating and are local if anything is pressing.

It was a great few days! The house is lovely, well maintained, well stocked, clean and in a great location. We particularly enjoyed the deck, yard and dock. There was something for everyone. The cherry on top was the host, Marjory’s, communication and insight. She was lovely and very helpful. We were sorry to leave so soon. Absolutely Beautiful Lakefront Property!

We had the most wonderful time staying here! The house was immaculate, organized, spacious and had every amenity we could have wanted. Beds were extremely comfortable. The view from the deck is stunning. The dock and beach area were spacious and perfect for enjoying the water. We spent most of our weekend at the house but it is only a 10 minute drive downtown to enjoy some of Ithaca. Marjory was great to work with, so kind, and communicated quickly. Beautiful home in a fantastic spot

Our entire family very much enjoyed the home and lake shore. While there are many stairs to the lake, the stairs are impeccable. The kitchen and dining area accommodated our group of 8. The property is close enough to downtown Ithaca that we could make late decisions to eat out or visit the grocery store to pick up any needed items for cooking. And the owners were very quick to respond to any inquiry. We plan to visit it again.
