The perfect location for our extended family hang out for a family wedding in Portland. Beds were comfy, the towels were fantastic. We used the kitchen for a big breakfast.
It’s a wonderful house, with a great location, and excellent communication with Mike. it is an older house with lots of charm, but it has been remodeled, and in my opinion has wonderful beds, and enough amenities in the kitchen to make our stay practical and enjoyable. Thank you!!
Loved this place. It really felt like home. When I visit Michigan again if property is avaliable I will be staying again. Super clean. Everything was easy and could contact the owner very easy! Thanks again Mr. Mike. Harris/Ivey Family
We rented the house to stay at for our nieces wedding!! It worked great with the 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, especially nice having a bathroom on the second floor for the middle of the night with a 4 and 5 year old. Beds were comfortable and everything clean!! Quiet dead end road and nice neighbors!! Would definitely stay there again.
Perfect place for our group to stay for a recent pickleball tournament. Plenty of room, causal and comfortable accommodations. Nothing fancy, but worked very well for us. Nice sized kitchen and living space.
4 bedrooms plus a giant sectional for sleeping large groups. Ability to double park in driveway for about 6 cars if needed. Quiet neighborhood. Close to town and not far from freeway. Host was more than accomodating and very good at communicating.
Older home. Rehab done simply, but tastefully. Lots of room for family and friends to stretch out, relax and enjoy.
It's easy to navigate Ionia, and nothing you want to do is very far away. The downtown area has lots of little shops and nice restaurants.
Very good value for the VRBO rental price.
We were there for a reunion euchre tourney. Everything went well. Could use some measuring cups and spoons and maybe a non-stick pans but certainly not anything major wrong. Thanks
We loved the access to the trails. The place was clean and provided plenty of towels. However, I would just offer a suggestion of having the kitchen better stocked with simple amenities as coffee/tea, perhaps creamer, shampoo and body wash. It's hard to travel with those toiletries especially when you don't check bags..it would have been helpful. Overall, a fine place to stay close to the little town. The host was responsive to texts and helpful. Thanks
Nice home, quiet town, large space good for large family
Came to explore Michigan, didn't have to drive TOO FAR to go to Grand Rapids.. Michigans adventure.. holland.. had fantastic coffee locally, ate some great food near by too. House was big, had enough rooms and beds for our family of 6! Big couch to movie nights after we got back for the day. Was stocked with towels, cooking utensils, paper towels, toilet paper, ect. Host called to touch base the day of! We couldn't figure out how to turn the ceiling fan on, he instantly called. Flip the switch by the front door on the right. Upstairs gets warm, compared to the rest of the house A/C but there's fans in every room- you'll need them. Beds were pretty comfy, pillows were decent. No complaints.
Our son got married in Ionia, about an hour from home. It was SO worth it to have a home base in town and not drive back & forth a couple of times. We had our adult children with us and one toddler. The house was clean and had plenty of towels. Bed linens were a bit older but serviceable. There are lots of plates but only 4 forks, lol. We used paper products to avoid making dishes. The neighborhood is a little run down but we had no problems with noise or neighbors. There is a nice walking path just one house down. There is a cul de sac that provides additional parking, as the driveway fits about 3 cars. The house has a couple quirks, such as the top of the stairway being very close to the bathroom door - you had to be careful entering & exiting the bathroom. Parents of small children might want to bring a baby gate. The games on hand were not super appealing - you might want to bring your own. Lots of fans were provided, making every room comfortable. Overall, the house fit our needs very well and we were happy to spend time with our family there.
We came into town for a wedding, so my family and my dad and sister stayed here with us. It was perfect for what we needed, so we would definitely stay again!
I will lay out the pros and cons for those that need it:
Pros:
-Everything was clean - my top priority when it comes to staying somewhere
-Owner was very responsive with any questions or issues
-Plenty of towels!
-Functional and clean washer and dryer (a must for us!)
Cons:
-We went during a MI heat wave. The downstairs would be cold, but the upstairs was quite a bit warmer. They did have fans in each of the rooms up there, but we were still hot at night ( I'm sure all is fine during normal Michigan summers)
-There's only 1 TV and its in the living area. I liked that it forced some family time, but it was also inconvenient a couple of times.
