Pleasing whimsical touches and artsy accents are abundant in this lakefront cottage jewel. Soft greens and powder blues adorn the interior and blend seamlessly with the lush natural setting of "Whispering Pines." The downstairs hearth room, just off the kitchen/dining area, has a splendid - no, make that spectacular - view of Deep Creek Lake. A private, lit walkway takes you right down to the docks and the water's edge. A generous outdoor patio is as perfect for entertaining friends as it is for memorable moments with family - plan on having many! The home is conveniently located within minutes of the State Park and could be the perfect place to gather for your next family reunion or company retreat!

We had a very nice Thanksgiving weekend. The house was perfect for our family. Beautiful view, close to stores and restaurants and we really enjoyed the hot tub.
A great location on Deep Creek with a great outdoor space and easy access to the dock. Check in was easy, the place comfortably fit our group and there is plenty of parking.
The house had a great location, the owner was great to communicate with and the house had all the amenities we needed to have a wonderful trip. We will definitely stay here again in the future overall wonderful place!
The house has a lot of cute character and it was the perfect size for two couples. The steps down to the dock gave us quite the workout carrying our kayaks, but the location and access can't be beat. We absolutely loved our stay there! Neighborhood is gorgeous and everyone we talked with was wonderfully friendly.
Right on the lake, comfortable and relatively clean.
We stayed at this property during Labor day week-end. The house was as it looked on the pictures, except that two of the 4 bedrooms do not have windows, which I don't think comply with fire safety laws. We asked the kids to keep their door open at night since it was their only escape way in case of fire. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and utensils. The house was a bit dated but homey. It looked clean at first glance, but there was lots of dust under the furniture and sofas (as often seen in vacation rentals). We liked the hot-tub (clean) and the immediate access to the lake. Overall, we had a good experience and would return.
Wispering Pines was a quaint and peaceful place to stay. While the walk down to the docks contained a lot of stairs, the lakefront location was perfect for our family’s needs. Kids enjoyed swimming off the dock and the hot tub. Adults enjoyed the separate sitting rooms and plentiful spaces for relaxation. Secondary rooms were small and became hot with doors closed but they did the trick. We enjoyed the books and games provided. Overall a very nice house!
We truly enjoyed our 4 day stay during the beautiful Fall season. Our weather was fantastic and we loved sitting by the lake and using the fire pit and hot tub! We hiked New Germany State Park, Big Run State Park, Herrington Manor State Park as well as Deep Creek State Park. We enjoyed it all!!
Great place to spend a holiday with friends & family!
Our holiday stay was a pure delight. The charming fireplace added a cozy touch, perfect for chilly evenings, and the private beach was simply breathtaking.
Additionally, Scott was incredibly responsive, ensuring that any questions or concerns were addressed in a timely manner. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway.
We visited for just a few days and this place met all of our needs. The lakefront property was beautiful. We celebrated 4th of July on the water and were able to dock our boat right at the house making water sports an ease. The house was in great condition and dog friendly. We loved using the hot tub and having an evening fire lakefront. The beds were comfy and the house was decorated to please the eye! No major issues and we would return again.
We really enjoyed get family together at this location from the Midwest and the East Coast. The location is more of a lake cottage/ski resort feeling but it is away from the crowds. We were there during Christmas, and it was everything we hoped for. The lake was frozen and there was snow. We even brought our own Christmas Tree and enjoyed Christmas morning around the fireplace looking out over the snowy lake. It was a wonderful place to gather with family!
Many small steps everywhere indoors, many trips and stubbed toes.Steps outside are dangerous as there are no markings to warn of changing levels. There were 4 falls in our group.
We stayed for a long weekend and loved this house. All of the bedrooms made sleeping arrangements for all 7 of us easy. We loved how big the kitchen was. Never felt like we were stepping on each others toes. The outside space was awesome. with the hot tub, deck, fir pit area and large dock. Only downside outdoors was there is a row of bushes blocking the view from the deck to the lake. Not sure if that is on purpose but its blocking an amazing view. I would not recommend for any one with any mobility issues. There are many many small elevation changes inside the house that caused several trips. We will be back again!
This property was as listed and as stated in other reviews be prepared to stub your toes from time to time as the floor level changes a number of times by half an inch to 1 inch & these little “steps” blend in with the floor. The views of the lake are spectacular and it’s in a very quiet part of the area. Really well equipped with one exception, we couldn’t find a can opener to save our soul. All in all we had a lovely time and would not hesitate to rent it again
Wonderful time with friends and family . The house was just as described-rustic, older, the bedrooms are small except for the master- but we didn’t go there to sleep - so it got 5 stars. If you want a high end fancy home, then go pay the price for that. The house was more than adequate for a very reasonable price. Waterfront, in a quiet neighborhood , delightful deck/ hot tub/ view. The homeowner was very attentive, responded quickly, and took care of everything we needed.

Shawn and I grew up nearby and have always dreamed of owning a place of our own at Deep Creek Lake. We currently live in North Carolina but love our frequent trips back to the Lake! Hope you enjoy it as well. This is a great place to "hide away" and to do business. Also, you can find Shawn's favorite past-time on Etsy. We love to travel the world for business and pleasure. Enjoy our home!
