The house and grounds are exactly as featured. Donna and Jeffery, the owners, live next door. They are very nice and helpful without being intrusive. The beach and dock area are awesome!
Oh my goodness!! This home was wonderful and had everything we needed or wanted. The property was beautiful and was filled with activities that everyone enjoyed. The owners live next door and were delightful! My favorite thing to do was simply read on the deck and enjoy the serenity and beauty around us. Thank you, Donna and Jeff, for making your home available for renting! Mary and Mart
We have a large family with several small children. This property on Torch Lake was great for us! So many things to do right there...swimming, boating, kayaking, bonfires, tennis, just to name a few. The private beach is wonderful for little kids as the water is not too deep. Torch Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen! The location is also close to Traverse City and Charlevoix for great day excursions! I would highly recommend this property!

We are very happy that your family enjoyed Sparkling Waters and hope to have you again as guests.Have a great summer, Best regards, Jeffrey and Donna Green
We had a wonderful time at this property we had a large group and used all 7 bedrooms of the house, everyone was comfortable and there was plenty of space. The property gave our children a lot of options for play when they were not on the lake. Dr. Green was always available if there were any questions and checked in on our group regularly to make sure we were comfortable and did not need anything. It is a lovely property and we are very glad that we were able to find it.

We are delighted that your family enjoyed the property and we welcome you back . Have a great summer. Best regards, Jeffrey and Donna Green
Our family gathered from three different states to spend a week relaxing together. We enjoyed swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, tubing, shopping, wine tasting, and engaging in classic family game nights. The house was perfect for my husband and me, as well as our grown children and their families. There was ample space for everyone around the dining table and in the seating areas. The property also featured a large lawn where we played pickleball and catch. The dock offered a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy the scenery of Torch Lake. We rented a Tritoon for the week and also rented the boat launch, which was very easy to use.

We are delighted that your family enjoyed themselves. We welcome you to please come again.

So much to do and enjoy on this wonderful property. The dock and the deck were great for relaxing, napping, sunbathing and gathering. The kids had a blast on the water mat, kayaks, paddle board, and playground. Lots of areas with chairs and benches for quiet and huge yard for kickball and other games as well as the volleyball and tennis courts. The yard chess set was a huge hit. Fire pit right near the water was full stocked with wood and chairs. Plenty of bedrooms for our 15 people. So much to do that you can on the property the whole time but there are great places to explore in the area. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our week

One of the worst rental houses, and I have been traveling for a long time around the world spanning almost 15 international countries. Beware, the owner live next door. Along with them and the other neighbor are watching you and your kids. In fact the neighbor on the left of the house was recording our kids, when we approached him for invading our privacy, he fled inside his house. On the other hand, the owners were in our backyard constantly until I said, “ does the house come with the owners?” We rented 2 jet skis and a Pontoon boat for 4 days and every day we heard how and where the pontoon has to be kept. I was so sick of the comments and constant watching by the whole neighborhood, I forgo a day of rental that cost me $500. The other major thing that occurred was the AC breaking down since our second day there. The temps inside the house reached almost 90. When I told the owner, she said it’s because we set the temp below 72 which caused the AC to stop working (she should call Carrier, the AC manufacturer, to find these Units can operate 24/7 under extreme conditions). I told her it can be a dirty filter causing it to malfunction. She sent a repair man and sure enough the filter was so disgusting and fully clogged that no air was going through. This was our last day there and we left with the AC still not working.(the AC braked is in the garage and the renters have no access to that).
Also, beware, the have a “Quiet Time” after 10PM. Seriously? I’m going on vacation so I can have a quiet time.
The only thing going for this house is just the backyard, but when you add the owner and neighbors watching you, not sure the beauty is still there.
The house itself, when you first enter, smells very moldy. The kitchen is super small, maybe for a husband and wife, no kids. One of the rooms downstairs is also the mechanical room, boiler etc. You wake up to the noises and think an intruder is inside the house. The description says the house is sound proof, not true. If someone sneezes I can hear it from any room in the house.
We over payed for this property 10x what it’s worth.
Not sure who gave the property 5 stars? Please, if you care about your family and their privacy and enjoyment, stay away from this house and it’s owners.

It is unfortunate that you didn’t enjoy your stay; however, this was caused by a number of self damaging actions.
You flagrantly violated a number of the contractual obligations, many of which are meant to keep you, the property, and the public safe. The contract is on vrbo which you accepted as part of your booking. It is also listed in the foyer and was sent to your personal email. You were well aware of the contractual obligations but chose to deliberately ignore them.
You had 20+ people on the property that is clearly stated as having an occupancy of 14, although we do allow babies and very young children which you didn’t have. This caused a number of problems.
You had an inexperienced young person trying to handle a large pontoon boat which he almost beached. You also moored the large boat on a light daytime mooring buoy overnight, which the contract clearly specifies is unacceptable and dangerous, as well as being contrary to local bylaws. You declined to remedy this when brought to your attention. During high winds which occur frequently on Torch Lake, boats can become unmoored and cause a significant amount of damage. One of our neighbors jumped into the water to try and help with the boat. We also offered on numerous occasions to provide constructive solutions which you declined.
You exhibited irresponsible wave runner behavior by using the buoys as a slalom course. The buoys are meant to keep swimmers safe between them and the shore.
The neighbor was not interested in taking pictures of your family but had to record your negligent and unsafe actions as described above, that could result in damage to people and property. These safety procedures were clearly listed in the contract.
With respect to the AC, when you keep the system at 66 degrees in very hot weather, it puts undue stress on the components of the system .Upon your notification that the AC was not working, we had a technician come to the house right away. The expert AC technician advised that the stress on the AC was the cause of the AC breakdown. The change in filter was routine maintenance that was done at that time for convenience.
Lastly, with respect to the noise curfew, we appreciate this may not be for everyone. However, this was again clearly articulated in the contract which you accepted. We live in a family oriented neighborhood and our prior guests have appreciated this aspect of their stay. Our goal is for our guests to have a wonderful time while keeping them safe .
Property overall was everything we could hope for. The house itself did lack space due to furniture overload, and kitchen was a little small for 15 of us. But we spent most of our time outdoors, and what an outdoors it was. The Greens are gracious, available and hospitable...people we’d like to get to know. We’d return in a heartbeat!
This was the perfect floor plan for our five family household! The rooms were sound proof! The backyard is like a resort with manicured gardens, tennis courts playground and swings. All this on crystal clear blue Torch Lake. Anytime assistance was needed help was quick to respond.
The sunsets are marvelous and the space on property makes for a fun time. Availability of play equipment, the chess board and games at the house make entertaining the kids easy. Proximity to DeWitt Marine made docking overnight a breeze. But we did have to rearrange furniture to make space inside as there is simply too much furniture in the house. The owners dealt with our needs throughout the week, making it easy to relax and enjoy the week.
