About the host
Hosted by Renata Rustyak
I was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, my husband, Jeet is from Suva, Fiji (this is how my name Renata became Renu). We met and happily live in South Australia. We have three children, aged 10 through 18.
We both work full-time (IT and administration).
In our spare time we love doing DIY home makeovers, furniture renovation/makeover and gardening, as well as going out with friends, reading, watching movies and travelling the world. Usually I take the lead in organising our trips, given that I had worked as a local guide, tour manager, river cruise director and TO operations/quality control manager since graduating from high school which allowed me to tour about 70 countries on multiple occasions, guiding 50 to 200 guests. (Probably this is why I got carried away and prepared 4 folders with useful information for you :)
During my European river cruising career (from Amsterdam to Basel or Bucharest) I became the co-author (with my mentor, Kate Laurenszky) of the multicultural cook-book: 'Tastes and Tales' which is available online and gives you both delicious Central European recipes, as well as anecdotes and fun facts about various dishes. It is a fun read.
The tour companies that I had worked for often offered the opportunity to meet the locals and chat with them over a Kaffee-klatsch in Germany, a nice Gulyas soup and strudel in Hungary, or even stay overnight with them in New Zealand, plus the concept of staying/sharing part of the house in private homes has long been on the markets of Austria, Germany, Switzerland, etc. and we feel it adds a special flavour to our travels, therefore we also like to stay in private homes during our own trips both in Australia and overseas.

Why they chose this property
We liked this house at first sight because of its features.
It is located in a quiet side street with only 5 other houses and pleasant, quiet, friendly, helpful neighbours.
The house bathes in natural light and sunshine the whole day but the garden is pleasantly shaded in the afternoon/evening to be able to have a meal / BBQ outside. It is also nice to enjoy breakfast outside with the rising run.
The private and common areas are well separated, so you can relax / sleep upstairs while other members of your company are still awake and active, maybe enjoying the wine and cheese purchased during your visit to the Barossa...
You can wake up in the morning for the birds' singing which gives you the feeling of being in the countryside. On the other hand it is only 5 min walk away from Playford Alive Shopping Mall where you can purchase everything for cooking a meal yourself or dining out if you prefer to do so. There is also a library, a gym and a modern, shaded playground in the centre.
If you want to have action, the house is just a short drive both to historical Gawler and fun-filled Barossa , and a bit longer to Adelaide or Clare Valley.
