The place was just great.Centrally located to everything downtown. We enjoyed our stay very much, our dog Romeo had a good time also.
Would recommend and hope to stay again.
We truly enjoyed our time at this cabin. It is a good size, comfortable bed. Kitchen counter space was little tight, but microwave & toaster worked well with adequate numbers of dishes, cups, utensils & pans, pots, etc. Heater works very well. My husband loved big reclining chair. Outside patio was very nice to enjoy just sitting & enjoying the trees. About 10 min drive to the town area, which was perfect distance. Overall, very well kept cabin & the property manager responded really quickly to text. We will love to stay here again next time we go back.
The cabin was everything and more that I hoped for. Easy entry. Very clean and comfortable. Wonderful fireplace. Great location. I hope to return some day to this little slice of heaven on earth. Thanks to the owners for a perfect stay.

Idyllwild is an adorable town and this cabin matches the vibe. Lots of nice touches like extra blankets, laundry detergent in the cabinet was a nice surprise, there cute signs everywhere and lots of cooking supplies. The loft was fun for the kids, overall just what we needed for a fun weekend getaway.
We had a great stay! We will definitely be back. The loft ladder was kind of scary, with narrow planks, so we did not go up there. The kitchen appliances are really old, but they all worked great! The bed and futon were very comfortable, and the towels were soft and wonderful. Perfect proximity to town. My Son enjoyed chasing lizards and squirrels in the yard. We purchased peanuts from the market, and we fed the blue jays and squirrels.I gave four stars for "accuracy of online listing." It stated the following would be provided, but was not provided:1. Propane and charcoal grill2. Firewood for the fireplace3. Espresso machineWe were bummed about the grill, but made it worked cooking inside. There was a double oven, and we made some great meals. The kitchen had everything we needed. I was not able to back down the driveway. I could not see, so I dove straight down, made a three-point turn, and parked in the parking spot on the left. Upon leaving, I would back up next to the house to get a running start, which was needed. Thank you Tim for the great place! We will be booking again soon.
We had a wonderful weekend getaway at this cozy cabin. The cabin was very clean and had a comfortable bed. The hosts were great and available for any questions we had. Definitely looking forward to staying here again for our Idyllwild visits. Thank you again!
My boyfriend, dog and I stayed at this lovely, cozy cabin for the weekend. It was was quiet, clean and very comfortable. It was just what we needed! Everything was as described and I'd like to add that the mattress was VERY comfortable. I would definitely recommend.
My husband and I wanted a quick getaway from the city for a couple nights, and this cabin was just what we needed! The check-in/out process was easy (they even let us know the cabin was cleaned early and offered us early check-in), we loved sitting on the deck with our dog and feeling the storm breezes, and capping off the night with a fire in the fireplace. Tim and Karen made it a hassle-free last minute trip and we hope to book again in the future!
We enjoy the place. It was nice that they helped us to shovel the snow from our parking space and walk way made it easy for us. Since we were only woman staying in the cabin. Felt nice and secure. We all enjoyed it a lot especially because we got to see snow falling down. Thanks for having such a great place for relaxing.
We took our kids to AstroCamp and needed a place to stay while they were there. This cabin did not disappoint, it had everything you could possibly need plus some. Supper clean and cozy! Close to city center where there is food and a ton of really cool shops. Our kids are already talking about going to AstroCamp again next year and we really hope we can stay here again!! Absolutely perfect!!

Lazy Gnome Retreat / Treat!
My wife and I took my two daughters and my dog Milo. We were hoping to catch some snow and we were so happily surprised when it snow both morning and evening. My daughters loved staying in the loft, as their own private retreat / fort. The location was beautiful and we enjoyed it from the moment we pulled in. We will be back, thank you!
I was attending a birthday party for a friend of mine that lived nearby. I arrived late in the evening and there wasn’t much of a moon, so it was a little difficult to find at first, but once I found it, the check-in instructions were accurate and I settled right in. This cabin has a lot of charm and is very comfortable. , perfect for a secluded cabin getaway.., The only thing I would like to change about it would be a quieter refrigerator, and the strong scent of Final Net hairspeay in the bathroom. Again, just minor nuance items. Nothing that should keep any bloody from renting this wonderful little slice of heaven. Thank you so much for making it available to us!

Perfect cozy getaway! Peaceful and clean with a fantastic porch. Loft perfect for kids!
This quaint cottage was perfect for a quiet and cozy getaway! The area is surrounded by beautiful trees with hiking trails and it is just close enough to the town without any of the noise or traffic. The kitchen had every amenity and the living room had movies, books, maps and records that you can play on the record player! The open loft is a perfect area for kids with a gate that clasps shut. The porch was our favorite place with an area for someone to lay on a chase longe under an umbrella, at a small table or you can sit at a picnic table that turns into really cute bench seating! The hammock was a personal favorite that is down the stairs. The cottage has plenty of parking and solar lights along the driveway and porch for perfect ambient lighting for the gorgeous evenings! The owners are very easy to contact and they respond immediately and said that no question was ever too small! Fantastic experience as a first time VRBO user!
My partner and I stayed at this charming gnome cabin for a week and our experience was beyond our already high expectations. The cabin is so cozy and charming. It has a rustic, mountain feel along with all of the comforts of home. Tim and Karen have thought of everything that one might need. We found the wood bucket stocked so we could make a fire right away. It was so lovely, we made a fire almost every night while we snuggled with our glasses of wine on the couch. The kitchen has everything you need to cook whatever you want. The bed was comfortable with plenty of warm blankets if needed. It is not far from Idyllwild, where we explored, met the Mayor (a dog!!) and enjoyed dinner at elegant restaurants 2 nights. Tim was easily accessible when I needed help with connecting to Netflix, although we only watched it once! We took walks along the winding roads and met a couple of friendly residents getting ready for the summer. I highly recommend this little hide away and would definitely stay there again if we go to Idyllwild.
Even though the driveway is steep, backing in, as Tim suggested, worked well and we had no difficulty with it.
Also, there is a loft above the main floor with two beds and plenty of space for children to have their own space while still being close enough to be well supervised.
First of all, I stayed a week and don't think you'll ever find better hosts than Tim and Karen. They are very attentive to detail, and responsive to any and every concern. The only condition I feel obligated to mention is the driveway. Not being paved, it does have some rather deep loose gravel spots (enough to catch your wheel) and in my experience can be deceptively steep. So listen to the comments and know your vehicle. (Just personally, mine is a bit too large for me to maneuver easily). But if you can back down successfully, park next to the house, and get a running start - you really will be fine! Or, if you prefer walking/hauling down and up, there's a dedicated parking space at the top. Now, with that being said... I really want to emphasize that Tim and Karen have made sure this lovely little cottage has all the warm comforts of home, with every need met to one's heart's content. The forest surroundings inside and out are charming and delightful. And it truly is a treasure of peaceful tranquility, nestled in the beauty of Creation.

Hosted by Tim H
We are parents of two grown girls and two loving pups! We have lived in Southern California for 22 years. Our previous home was in Eugene, OR. We have always yearned to have a quiet place in the woods to take us back to the feelings of "getting into nature" that we used to enjoy when living in the Pacific Northwest. This year we were able to realize this dream by purchasing our cute little cabin. We so enjoy spending time here in the quiet and want to share this experience with others.
Why they chose this property
The proximity to the charming village of Idyllwild was our main reason for choosing this location. It's only about a mile from the village and has beautiful cedars as well as mountain views. We are also very close to many hiking trails. The sunny deck in front is a great place to relax as well as enjoy the sunset. While our little cabin is on a private unpaved road, access is easy as we are the first house on the road. Since the cabin is set lower than the main street, there is a feeling of privacy here.
What makes this property unique
The craftsmanship of the interior is unique and whimsical. There is actually a little house within the house where the wall between the kitchen and dining room was crafted as a little house with roof, chimney and other details, with a pass-through that can be closed with little shutters.
