This cabin is very cozy with a nice, quiet location for quality family time. The trails around the property were well taken care of and a very nice touch. The property is very close to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, which were very nice to visit.
This location is a wonderful piece of property. Beautiful creek that my daughter & dog loved playing in and along with great yard, woods and trails for the entire family to enjoy. The cabin is great size, not to big but not to small.

Fall Weekend
We had such a beautiful visit to this home. It was just secluded enough with beautiful views of the creek. We had a great time and enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit on the cooler nights. Hopefully we can make it back again next fall!
Cabin is well appointed with great TV and sound system. Expansive grounds with a quiet creek in the middle. Close to all Lake Lure activities and about 45 minutes from Biltmore. We had a great stay and would highly recommend this place!
This was a perfect get away for me and my family. My children are adults and my grandchildren are at the ages where we all just wanted a great place to hang out together. Space and accommodations were just what we hoped for. We would rent here again! Thanks so much Shirley!
Property was very well kept. Cabin was well organized and everything was easy to find. Set well off the road and was quiet in the evenings. Short drive to Lake Lure so a great location. We have stayed at this property in the past and will be staying there again. The property owner was quickly responsive to any questions about the property. Highly recommend a stay at this cabin.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful place!
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. It is very clean with a well supplied kitchen and is nicely designed. We travelled with our dog and young children and enjoyed the private outdoor environment including the hot tub with a view of the stars and surrounding hills, the trail on the property, the creek and garden. Also, we enjoyed trail riding at the horse farm next door. Also, the location is great as it's very close to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. My only wish was that our stay was longer!
Response from VrboOwner on 6 March 2020
I'm so glad that we could accommodate you @ last -minute in the time you and your family did have! Your wife was already on the road when you called me -- a quick check on scheduling with my manager, then we were able to accomplish the rental process quickly on VRBO so you could arrive that night.
Happy that you made full use of Cedar Creek Cabin and enjoyed its amenities and the beautiful surroundings. Hope you will be able to return for a longer time!
Best Wishes, Shirley
I brought my kids with me for a nice family vacation, we absolutely loved the beautiful home and property. The kids had a good time playing the table games. We all enjoyed hiking on the property. Relaxing on the porch listening to the creek and the sounds of summer was much needed. There were many things to do not far from the house also. Shirley was very kind and helpful. Was a great vacation. We would definitely stay again in the future.
This VRBO was great. The cabin was beautiful & the property itself was as well. It was a wonderful place for our 2 large dogs who enjoyed walking the trails daily & splashing in the creek. The cabin was very clean, everything you could have needed was at your fingertips & the host was very helpful if you did actually need anything or have a problem. The location was just a short drive to the areas ammenities which were absolutely breathtaking. We would definitely recommend this cabin in the woods to anyone visiting the area.
Great place to stay!! Secluded and easy to access. The area between the cabin and the creek is perfect. We had our corn hole boards, camping chairs and music down there while the dogs ran around and played in the stream. Also a nice rolling herb garden to the side of the house with a cool swing and hiking trails right behind the house that go up the mountain.Lake Lure is only 15 minutes away where there is an Ingles grocery store and a handful of neat bars and restaurants with live music. The Cabin itself is really nice! This is a Fully furnished and equipped house with everything you would expect to find. Laundry room, full kitchen, great living room with giant windows that look up to the trees and sky, giant master bedroom/bath, 2nd bedroom downstairs is perfect and on the opposite side of the house from the Master bedroom. The loft upstairs is big with a couch/sitting area, 2 beds, its own bathroom and opens up to the upstairs deck.Great place, definitely recommend!!The deck upstairs off of the Loft area is great for watching the stars.
This is absolutely the best property we have rented. Plenty of space for our family of 9. The cabin was clean and we'll stocked with everything we needed. Shirley (our host) was very attentive and informative with regard to things to do and see in the area. I was very impressed with the instructions and labeling, making it easy to find things and use the amenities included. This cabin and the surrounding property offered something for all ages in our group. I would definitely rent here again and recommend to anyone looking for a cabin in the area for a short or extended stay!
The wood cabin interior/exterior was beautiful. The property though.. was amazing! The creek and trails made our dogs trip as fun or better than ours! The property is secluded, the house way off the main road, privacy is abundant here with a nice firepit outside and easy to use fireplace inside. Amenities were great, spent some time star gazing in the hot tub, enjoying the silence outside a couple nights. Internet was spotty, lost the tv atreaming for about a day but didnt care honestly. Takes about 15-20min to get to lake lure and chimney rock. Tons of trails all over to hike. Loved the new lake lure greenway paths!! Would stay again 100%

Thanks for the wonderful comments! It’s nice to “see” my cabin thru others’ eyes. I will be working to improve the internet system again (sigh) as company was great couple years ago. Think they have over-subscribed and quality has lessened now. Happy Anniversary and hope you return to celebrate next year! I’ll have wine and chocolates ready for you again! 😊

Amazing vacation
Shirley, we absolutely loved our time at your cabin! Your home is perfect for families and the land surrounding the cabin is great for exploration! We did not need or want for anything while we were there, everything was provided. The house was immaculate and the amenities were wonderful!
We really enjoyed our time at Lake Lure Beach, Chimney Rock, Asheville and the surrounding areas. I think we brought the heat with us but thankfully, you had air conditioning! We enjoyed making s'mores in the firepit, playing in the creek, and just running around through the trees! We also loved the porches at night, listening to all the secadas and crickets, relaxing from our days of fun. The next time we head back that way, I will be checking to see if your home is available.

Quiet escape to nature
Property is nice, clean, secluded and quiet. My kids enjoyed exploring the surroundings. The creek is peaceful and nature sounds fill the morning air. The reason for our reduced rating is because my family was accused of doing damage that we noticed when we arrived and damage not possible for us to do given how we spent our time there. The false accusation and requested compensation has taken away from the experience of our short one night stay. We have never had an issue at any other vrbo so this was very disappointing and would prevent us from recommending or staying again.

I strive to have the security deposit back as soon as I am notified by my manager that the cabin as been cleaned. If there are any damages, I contact the renter, we discuss it and attempt a negotiation or settlement agreement before it goes to the VRBO website.
In this case, Manager had texted 3 issues that I forwarded to the renter. I stated that the garbage and taken-apart Hot tub chain were non-issues, but that a mark/stain on the antique coffee table was. The table had been removed from the cabin and had been returned just before her arrival; thus, no other guests. I do not "accuse" anyone without being quite sure that they caused the damage. Unfortunately, the cost to repair was above the deposit.......and I will have to re-evaluate allowing 1 night stays. Many VRBO owners do not.
On a positive note, the second review below this one, was from a guest who also incurred damage with nail polish being spilt on wood We were able to resolve this by communicating in an open, honest manner.
This is my first less- than -5 star rating, but also my first major damage in my 6 years of renting my cabin.

North Carolina Mountains
This was a very nice cabin. It was secluded, but still close enough to others to feel safe. The cabin was beautifully decorated with very comfortable furnishings, especially comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped. The hot tub was very soothing with the extra jets. The property is large enough to get out and hike around some. There is a nice farm with a horse stable right next door. We took advantage of a nice trail ride as well. Wi-fi was available, but no cell phone service. The owner has a landline phone for your use. We enjoyed Sight seeing in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains on this trip. Lake Lure is about 10 miles from the Cabin and the Biltmore in Ashville is less than an hour away. My husband and I had a very peaceful relaxing time here. If you love the outdoor country scenery, this is a great place to stay.

Thank you, Sharon, for your thorough review! Cell service is intermittent in that area of NC, so the land-lines do cover the area, including Asheville. There is cell phone coverage on the blue-ribboned trail above the cabin if guests want to hike outdoors. I so appreciated our phone conversations and the suggestions you gave me. I am continually trying to improve my RED BOOK of information and will seek that 1 map that can show where everything is locally. I do have a map that does show the short-cut to Asheville now! I hope to contact you when I'm there in the winter for your assistance in obtaining a cast iron skillet from LODGE (your neighbor!) What an excellent plan for the cornbread! Thanks so much, Shirley
This house and property is very family friendly. There are toys and activities for all ages. Plenty of yard for the children and pets to run and play. This is the 2 nd time my husband and i rented this property. Last year we had my daughter and teenagers. This year we had his sons and their younger children. Both visits all of the children were entertained. Last year when we came out only concern was the bed was very hard. We called Shirley, the owner, and she purchased and shipped a 3 inch memory foam bed topper for us. The bed was amazing with the topper. Saturday night we gathered around a fire for s'mores and disconnected family time. The phones were only used for picture taking. The house has everything you need for a wonder mountain visit. Shirley even sends emails we local events, there are also maps and other suggestion for activity or dining options in the cabin. Shirley is the best host I have experienced to date.

Having a mattress topper to make you feel like you are sleeping in your own bed or arranging for an in-home massage as Joe's Anniversary gift to you last year makes me feel more connected to my guests! I love being sent pictures of your time spent at the cabin and so appreciate feedback given. Having done this for 12 years now, I'm still loving to share my home with others-especially guests like you, Sharon & Joe! Thanks for your kind words and hope you'll be back next year!

Very secluded and tranquil, well equipped home, perfect for our family Christmas gathering.
This home is tucked away from the world, on 10 acres complete with a nice size creek, walking trails, a front yard large enough to play a little football with the kids and views of the Smokeys and stars that calm one's soul.
Inside the house, there is almost anything you would need to make your stay feel right at home. Shirley has thought of everything to ensure you don't need to leave and run out to get, except for your own food and drinks, of course!
The large covered front porch, with two locking entry gates, is a huge plus for those with larger families and for those with small children, as it gives plenty room to both entertain and keep the kids contained with room to play.
If you are traveling with your four legged family members, this is an ideal setting. Plenty of land to explore, full creek to play in and far enough away from the road and neighbors.
Set out on the upper deck, the hot tub is a highly recommended way to begin and end your day. Just sit back with your mug of coffee, glass of wine or champagne, enjoy the views and let the hot water and massaging jets work their magic.
Thank you Shirley for sharing your lovely home with us. I would love to return in the fall to see the autumn colors, and I may get that opportunity when our nephew gets married this year!

It could have been great, but was not.
Unfortunately,I was very disappointed in our stay in Ms Shirleys cabin.Upon arrival,we walked into a house with 20+ dead roaches in the living room & kitchen. The appliances and counter tops weren't clean. We spent the first 2 hours cleaning the dead roaches, sweeping the floors, wiping down the couches & killing the live roaches. The vacuum was not sucking & the animal smell was awful coming out of it. We notified Shirley immediately and took over 20 pictures of the condition. She did offer to have someone come by to clean, but after a 9 hour trip it was best to clean ourselves. We eventually had to reach back out and request a bug company come out & spray as the situation was worse than we thought.Shirley offered to allow us to leave and find a new place at no charge due to the situation.Being that it was Thanksgiving week and we had our dog, we could not find anywhere to relocate to.We choose to have the bug guy come & spray while we left for several hours.Upon return, we then had to wipe down all the kitchen again and wash everything dish wise that we planned on using. If you know anything about german roaches, they are very hard to get rid of and travel.Shirely was aware of a roach problem previous to us but thought it was handled. I was disappointed that not at one time were we offered any kind of compensation for the disaster of a situation. We were offered an extra night at no charge. Property is beautiful but needs maintenace. Not worth the money pd,very upsetting for us.

Unwarranted review! My only mistake was not having a cabin check prior to their arrival and having 2 weeks of leaves on porch and dead bugs/dust/debris collect of floor. I had granted them an early check-in and late check out. When they complained, I offered a full refund. Offered an extra day. I sent and paid for the "bug guy" to return, even though he and my 2 cleaners (before and after their stay) only saw DEAD bugs or none. Camera showed that they left for less than 2 hrs and returned with groceries. Guest just after the initial extermination left a 5 star review and I expect the same from current guests. Angry that they are hurting my PREMIER HOST rating when I've been doing this for a long time.
The cabin is perfect for a mountain getaway. Property is beautiful, fire pit, hot tub, creek, and hiking trail. It’s close to loads of things to do. Fully appointed, makes your stay very easy!
A week in this beautiful, well appointed cabin is just what we needed. Appreciated the leaf color show. Grandad's apple orchard was great! Our grandson loved hands on kids places in Hendersonville and Asheville. Thanks for renting your home so others can make memories.
The cabin is beautiful, clean and well furnished. We found everything we needed and more. As advertised the WiFi was in and out, but that just gave us an excuse to spend more time in nature. My husband had just gotten over a health issue and this was the Peasce and tranquilty he needed to recuperate.
Shirley was awesome she called me shortly after I booked the cabin. She gave me suggestions of activities and places to go. She also went over all the details of the cabin.
While we were there my husband booked an in home full body theraputic massage with Laurie Ann as an aniversary gift. That was deffinately the high point of the experience for me. Ask Shirley how to contact her.
Shirley also had special treats waiting for us when we arrived. Overall it was a wonderful vacation and I highly recommend this cabin.
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cabin. The rooms are larger than they appear in the photos. The house was spotless. Shirley was so friendly and helpful and responded immediately to our call and texts. The cabin had everything we needed and was better stocked than any vacation rental that I have ever stayed at.

About the host
Hosted by SHIRLEY FEDORA, OWNER
Bill is a new retiree after working on the North Slope for 37 years, while I have been a community volunteer and raised our son. We hand-built our log home in Alaska, so appreciate the NC folk arts and crafts. Bill has a boat so goes fishing and shrimping. I love motorcycling, hiking and camping. We have been involved in volunteer timber-framing projects in NC and AL.
Why they chose this property
After exploring ID, AZ, NM, and CO, we chose Lake Lure for the close proximity to Asheville - cultural events, music, free thinking, good brews and health care; to the Blue Ridge Parkway - for scenic drives on my motorcycle; and to all the Parks for hiking, camping and waterfalls. We are 'small town' people, so the helpful friendliness and many activities of Lake Lure match our town in AK. This will be our winter retirement home.
What makes this property unique
Turn into the driveway and the rest of the world disappears! Peace, quiet and tranquility! The creek (and wildlife) creates their own music and ever-changing shows. Can roam freely on the 10 acres, whether along (or in) the creek, on the blue-ribboned trail, in the fields or hillside woods. Stepping stones and Swing in the garden with always some flower blooming! Can enjoy the evenings BBQing and having dinner on the front deck. Then stargaze while soaking in the hot tub, listening to the nightlife. Love the spaciousness of the log home with antique and home-crafted furnishings. Kids can easily take over the loft area for all their needs/play, leaving the rest of the home for your relaxation. Horse riding and fishing are just a walk over next- door! Zip-lines, outdoor climbing wall and a giant swing is your neighbor! Ease in driving to library, grocery or hardware store. This area has everything you could possibly want to do!
