About this property
Sedgwick Chalet // Lake Naomi // Poconos
Welcome to the Sedgwick Chalet, a tranquil getaway nestled in Pocono Pines, just steps from Lake Naomi and a short two-hour drive New York City and Philadelphia. Our cozy gingerbread-style house is the perfect place to press pause. The home has 5 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, including a lofted master suite and retro chef's kitchen with all the comforts of home. Guests can enjoy a ski weekend in front of the fireplace or a summer's night on the back deck or around the fire pit.
Our air-conditioned mountain home can comfortably accommodate up to 10 adult guests. The house has two outdoor fire pits and a back deck with views through the trees for outdoor dining near the new gas grill. Each room features premium bedding with ample wool blankets, comforters, and quilts to keep you warm on crisp nights, blackout blinds (save for the loft), bathrobes and a white-noise sound machine to offer a peaceful night sleep. The bathrooms are stocked with toiletries (soaps, shampoo/conditioners, hair dryers, etc). Bath and hand towels, extra bedding and blankets are located in the linen closet. There is a Bluetooth Onkyo speaker in the great room, surround sound in the vintage lounge, and WiFi internet access all around the house so you can toast your marshmallows and post to Instagram without delay.
Floor 1: Enter the Chalet into the foyer flanking the vintage lounge that features a 1960's sectional and a large Smart HDTV with streaming apps, a DVD player with surround sound, cable, and Apple TV. A sliding door in leads you to the back of the house where wood is stored.
The "Gray Room" directly off the lounge has a full-size bed.
A linen closet and "laundry room" are in the hallway next to the full bath with a standing shower (no tub) and plenty of towels - bath sheets, hand towels, washcloths, and soaps included.
The "Green Room" has a queen bed and a flatscreen TV with a Samsung smart DVD player to stream apps.
The "Pink Room" has two twin beds that may be pushed together to create a king bed (we have a king topper to make the conversion extra comfy) and a flatscreen TV with a ROKU player to stream apps. There is a blow-up twin bed in this room as well.
Floor 2: The retro kitchen has views into the dining/great room to the back deck. It has a new Fisher-Paykel refrigerator, dishwasher and water dispenser on the bar (no need to bring your own bottled water). Small appliances include a 12 cup drip coffee maker, a Chemex for pour over enthusiasts, Breville smart toaster oven, blender, pour over gooseneck water/tea kettle, Cuisinart food processor - large and small - Kitchenaid standing mixer, waffle maker, slow cooker, vintage juicer and ice crusher along with plenty of new, heavy-duty pots and pans including cast iron fry pans and a Le Creuset dutch oven. There's a small kitchen table with seating for 2 plus the kitchen counter with bar seating for 4. The kitchen is also well-stocked with mixing bowls, cutlery, cooking utensils, both indoor and outdoor tableware, spices and other pantry essentials. Help yourself to all in stock.
The kitchen, dining room and great room have wood floors and sliding doors that lead to the back deck with a stone fireplace in between the doors. The dining table seats 8 and has hosted many game nights, Thanksgiving feasts and Champagne brunches. There are tablecloths, linen napkins with rings and chargers for the table. Chose from any of the games by the sliding doors with even more in the console where the Onkyo stereo is stored.
Enjoy the fireplace in the great room on the sofa, Moroccan poufs or rocking chairs while cozied under blankets while the musically inclined play the baby grand piano.
The half bath is on the same level as the kitchen and great room, next to the "Partridge Family" bedroom with a pullout trundle bed, complete with cozy bedding, hardwood floors, white-noise sound machine and a vintage wool rug, an HDTV flatscreen with a Samsung smart DVD player that can stream apps, a dresser, and warm bathrobes.
The back deck off the great room has an outdoor table for 8 with an umbrella in the warmer months, a new gas grill, a chiminea and lounge chairs to enjoy the blaze.
Floor 3 - the loft: The Master bedroom overlooks tall trees in the front yard and the great room as well. It has a king-sized bed with ultra cushy bedding, hardwood floors with wool rugs, a white-noise sound machine, an HDTV flatscreen with a Samsung smart DVD player that can stream apps, a dresser, and warm bathrobes. There is a dedicated AC unit above the bed for muggy summer nights.
Outdoors: The fire pit near the front door sits under bistro lights and a round, outdoor table with an umbrella for warmer months. Tiki torches help keep bugs away and a brand new BIG GREEN EGG for natural charcoal pros awaits grilling aficionados.
A new fire pit near the shed is coming Summer 2018.

Everything was as described and well stocked with everything you needed. We had more than enough room with 8 people. Check in was a breeze and Moira was quick to respond to any requests/questions. We had an excellent stay, thanks again!
We rented this lovely home to attend a family wedding and were looking for a place that would accommodate our party of four adults and two dogs. Property was as described in listing. Home was clean and all amenities to ensure a comfortable stay were provided. The VRBO does indicate there is no microwave, but there is. We enjoyed the fire place and the outdoor fire pit, which my adult son carefully tended. Very close to Tobyhanna State Park. The only regret was that our stay was not longer!
I rented this property for my partner’s 30th birthday and it was a wonderful experience. There were 9 of us, including myself, and I felt like there was more than enough space. The bedrooms were spread out enough for everyone to have their own area while also having two larger common rooms.
The outdoor space at the property is so spacious. The outdoor fire pit and chimena areas are a huge bonus. Not to mention it is located within walking/biking distance to Lake Naomi!
The property has the perfect combination of retro-flare with modern updates like a large stainless steel refrigerator, Apple TV, and Wi-Fi. As a visitor, you can tell Moira has put a lot of effort into making sure the chalet is cozy and comfortable for the guests.
I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend to anyone looking to travel to the Poconos.
