DO NOT BOOK! SCORPION INFESTATION!
We arrived at the Villa in the evening and went straight to the beach for sunset. When we returned we immediately started seeing insect after insect, cobwebs all over and then.. a scorpion! All just in the entrance, a 3 inch scorpion right in the kitchen! We tried to get in touch with the host who did not answer, his property manager told us there was a bug spray in the closet to use. VRBO called the owner and he then told us the apartment wasn’t used before us and he did not have it cleaned before our arrival. We found another scorpion in the bathroom (which was disgusting- the shower curtain was molded and hanging off.. not quite the luxury villa advertised) vrbo put us in a hotel for the night. After having to check out of the hotel at 11am we tried to reach out to the host and AGAIN no response. We were a family of 4 with no place to stay. Finally at 5pm (9am at the vrbo offices) we called vrbo and they called the host and he responded. He told us he called an exterminator and when we asked for him to send us a receipt he said actually he didn't call an exterminator or clean the villa because he didn’t think we were coming back. We asked for a refund which the owner refused to give because cleanliness is subjective and a few scorpions were normal. We asked basically every staff member at the hotel who lived in the area if scorpions were normal and they all looked at us HORRIFIED! We have never had such an awful experience. This host is not trustworthy. I wish there was a way for you to contact me directly for pictures of the scorpions which would not make even the most outdoorsy person sleep well at night!
