Having miraculously avoided major worlds and natural disasters, Yanaka and Nezu—two of the neighborhoods that make up shitamachi, Tokyo's old downtown—retain their last-century charm. You'll find historical sites such as Yanaka Cemetery and Nezu Shrine tucked away among shitamachi's narrow back alleys, traditional wooden houses, izakaya pubs, atmospheric coffee shops and retro stores selling old-style sweets and snacks. The top highlight was the great location near Sendagi station, with several restaurants, markets, and convenience stores within walking distance. Check-in instructions were clear, and the property was clean and well-stocked. One thing to be aware of is that the place is three stories, and the bathroom is on the first floor, so guests need to be comfortable with stairs. Overall I highly recommend and would stay again!

Great value for the location

Convenient to nearby subway stations and easy to get to Narita airport. Appreciated the washer and the well stocked kitchen!

Sendagi stay

The house is nicely designed and is in a nice neighborhood with single family homes and shops. The location is good for exploring Tokyo with a few nearby metro stops. Thanks for letting us stay at the house.

everything was really wonderful. the neighborhood was perfect for us. the house was clean and organized and easy to understand (we don't speak japanese). we would totally stay at this house again on our next trip!

1st time in Japan

We are both 70 year old Americans so the low couch was a challenge. It is old and lumpy and should be replaced. Also the house numbers were hard to find. A very nice local had a hard time helping us with the house numbers. Everything else was GREAT we would stay here again. 1/2 a block from the subway and very quiet. The street in front of the subway has a major bus route and constant cabs.
