Charming house near peaceful beach

This home was great for our family of 3 for our 9 day stay - comfortable, walk to Pelican beach, and secluded. In a quiet neighborhood but easy drive into town. Comfortable beds, great back yard with pool, and well stocked kitchen. We would definitely stay here again.

The photos from this rental are very outdated.This house needs some maintenance and care.The furniture is ripped, clutter and "stuff" everywhere, screens are in terrible shape so little bugs get in (we were constantly getting bit), bugs everywhere, pool chipped, refridgerator needed cleaning (dirty and filled with old condiments and sugar), bathrooms need some upgrading or repairs. nice table on the back porch but the screened in porch is full of beach & cleaning supplies so it stinks.Ceiling fans were disgusting. Dryer listed did not work.Overall very disappointing.
The refridgerator when we arrived...smelled and needed wiping down.

Amazing location/beautiful home

We went with another couple, and we cannot say enough great things about our experience. The check in was so easy and the home owners were very responsive. The location of the safe villa was outstanding, a 4 minute walk to the beach, we visiting multiple beaches on our stay and kept coming back to the one closest to the villa as it was the BEST!! The pool was clean and well taken care of. The home was extremely clean. The air conditioners in the bedrooms kept the rooms so cool for sleeping, had the best night sleep after a long hot day. We needed to contact the owners during our stay for a minor issue and they responded immediately and had it fixed within an hour. They had beach chairs, beach umbrellas, coolers and lots of beach towels. All the photos do not do the property justice. Amazing!I can’t give enough stars for this property. We will definitely be back and will choose this property again.

Fantastic!

We had a fantastic stay at the home and it was perfect for our family of 4 (2 kids, 6 and 4). The pool was so nice after a day at the beach and kids really enjoyed it. Lots of amenities at the property, and the neighborhood was quiet and safe. Easy access to the highway and all of the beautiful beaches. Highly recommend this property!!

Wonderful and Inviting host, great location

The property was great. The host was so accommodating. She allowed us a earlier check in and even gave us a tour of the area. The host made our stay comfortable and inviting which our group appreciated. The location was perfect because it was near all of the restaurants, hotels, and beaches. 5/5, would stay here again!

Fabulous location and great place

Communication with property owners and managers was fantastic! Location could not have been better private beach just down the street! Comfortable but lack of AC in living room was a little tough but the listing was clear about that so not their fault at all. Loved the pool and house was well equipped and clean. Fabulous family vacation we’ll never forget

Relaxing oasis

We really enjoyed our stay at Hummingbird villa. The style of the villa felt relaxed from the minute we arrived. Although we were early and the cleaner was still there, she was happy for us to drop off all our bags and told us where to go to stock up on supplies. The villa is in a lovely area and feels so private with all the trees and shrubs surrounding it. We loved the pool and swam in it every morning and when we got back from trips out. The beautiful beach is only a short walk away and although only small, we thought it was one of the prettiest on the island. We walked down most nights to watch the sunset which was different every night. James was very responsive and was happy to let us check out late as we had an evening flight, which allowed us to enjoy our last day even more. Would gladly recommend this villa to both adults and families

Incredible Location, Great House but "well-loved"

Everything about this stay was convenient and smooth - the check in was easy, the hosts were accessible, the house had all sorts of beach niceties and everything was clean and operational. That said, the furnishings here are in definite need of a refresh, from stained mirrors, warped raw wood countertops to old furniture, it's a well-loved place in an incredible location and you can't do better for the price vs value. We'll probably be back, but hope that there will be a quick refresh in the meantime!

Quiet getaway

Everything was clean and in good repair. The kitchen was well-equipped, but ready for some upgrades (non-stick coatings on the pans were flaking off, for example). The beds were comfortable, with plenty of linens. The pool was great, and saw a lot of use. The furnishings were comfortable. In general, it was a good place to get away. The property managers/owners were helpful and responsive. We’d stay there again, given the chance.

Amazing, Breath Taking Property

This is my second time staying at this property and i loved it! The access to the property was very simple and easy, the property itself is lovely, the private pool is a plus, nice big and deep. Its very private and have everything you need. The host was amazing. Responded to anything i has questions about. And very quick with response. I will be booking always when coming to Turka.

Turks Vacation

Property was nice for the 4 of us. It was very nice having a private pool with a screened in patio. It would be nice to have a few essentials in the kitchen, aluminum foil (we only needed 1 piece), olive oil, etc. For use, larger beach towels (not kid size), 1 beach chair broken, 2 others rusted ready to break were afraid to use, 1 brand new. We had to pay for chairs and umbrellas at the public beach each day big expense.

Best Kept Secret For Relaxing…

Great pool. 5-6 minutes to beach. Grill. Beach chairs. Umbrellas. Mom & I brought all our own food from the States. Didn’t eat out once. Perfect. Let me check in a little early because I am a Flight Attendant. Very clean & spacious. Plus a little kitty came to visit one AM by the pool. Made me at home.

Nice and clean

Owners were super nice and using the house was super easy. Location was excellent, nice gated neighborhood, very near to a beautiful beach. Pool was perfect for my kids. Only complaint would be the lack of air conditioning in the living room/kitchen which we were aware of prior anyway so really it wasn't a problem at all. It is just very hot in Turks and we didn't want to hang out much in the living room or do any cooking b/c it was too hot. But the bedrooms were very cold and we slept fine. Owners also provide several beach chairs, coolers, ice packs, toys, floats which was super handy! Overall it was a very nice house, we just prefer A/C throughout a house.

Amazing, relaxing

Loved staying here in this lovely house. The area is quiet and peaceful and you can just sit by the large pool and read or just talk. The backyard is quite large and has lots of privacy with the natural plants and trees. The house is equipped with everything you need. Towels for bath and for the beach. Also beach chairs and umbrellas with a floating mat for the pool. The backyard gets lots of sun so we used the beach umbrellas for shade when we wanted it. The house is clean and neat. Sitting in the backyard is wonderful at night looking up at the moon and stars. The owners want to make sure you have a wonderful and comfortable time and are always available should you need anything. They have a lovely lady that comes in to clean and you may meet her on your arrival and can ask her if you need anything as well. She is kind and friendly like the owners. They take pride in the home and make sure your time there is memorable. I would definitely come back here and recommend it to anyone. The beach is within walking distance and is just beautiful. You can walk in any direction for a nice long beach walk. It is not too crowded to sit and relax all day.

Great location, house needs TLC.

Good Location on island, pool was great and clean, beds were comfortable, AC in bedrooms worked well. Beach was close, beautiful and no people. House was clean when we arrived. When we arrived, very little toilet paper, no paper towels in kitchen. Kitchen screens were ripped so mosquitoes and bugs came in at night. The kitchen itself needs help. Pots and pans are old and cabinets are in poor working condition. Dish washer and refridge worked well. Furniture has stains on them. Bathroom mirror has cracks and light missing bulbs. When it rains hard the roof leaks- drips on floor in powder room. NO smoke detector in master BR. We were told that 2 bikes were supplied, not on site. No game boards. Outside pool/ patio lights did not work. Washer and dryer is new, must tie door shut cause it bangs when wind blows. We called owner when we arrived and never got a call back in 11 days. We have stayed in many VRBO's and this home was a little disappointing.

Great Beach House

My husband and I spent 8 nights at Hummingbird Villa. It was exactly the way it is pictured. The surprise was the pool. It is bigger than it appears in the picture and sparkling clean. I enjoyed my coffee and reading by the pool in the very comfortable lounge chairs. The bedrooms are spacious, beds are new and each has it's own bathroom. There is also a small bath right off the living room which is convenient. The towels as mentioned in a previous review are very plush. Beach towels are provided. Also having the washer/dryer and clothes line was a big help to pack less stuff. We ate every meal we had on the enclosed screen porch. Graceway Gourmet supermarket has everything you need and is a short drive away. You do need a car for getting around. However, the beach is about a 5 minute walk and some days we had the beach to ourselves. The beach is stunning!! If you enjoy golf like my husband Provo golf is a short drive away. A challenging course according to him but he still enjoys the challenge. I believe the owners recently purchased this property and they have done very well with it so far. Mary was always available by email and quick with her responses. Mary went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and we very much appreciated it. We hope when we want to return the home will be available. Many thanks to Mary for such a relaxing and wonderful vacation.

Perfect for us! Loved it!

From the moment we rolled open the gate and drove in, we felt at home. The open concept and high ceilings make the place feel so spacious. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could need (including large wine glasses:-) along with a nice glass and wicker dining table area. Both bedrooms had great mattresses & covers on cute white 4 poster-type beds! Each bedroom has it's own bathroom & big closet; 3rd handy bathroom off the entranceway. This house was plenty for 2 of us. I can easily see 2 couples or families staying here, even with children, being quite comfortable. Towels and linens were nice and heavy and clean. You can tell the owners have been working on it and fixing it up and take pride in this house. It's obvious they want their guests to feel at home. The patio around the pool was large and lovely! Everything was painted and refreshed; the front door was nice heavy wooden door, nice floors, and stone in the porch, pretty landscaping--whatever they have put in, is nice good quality. Great ceiling fans helped it stay very comfortable. Fabulous screen porch too! I didn't ask about the pool over email before we got there. We planned on being gone to beaches mostly anyway. We thought maybe there was a larger house next door or on same property occupied by the owners, and that we 'had access' to a pool. We were surprised & thrilled to realize the pool went with this house only! A private pool was a huge bonus for us. We enjoyed our coffee & tea poolside every morning and lounging in the evenings. Pool was well kept, and even has a multi-color LCD light, which was fun at night. I was in the pool as much as I was in the ocean! Mary was super friendly and helpful by email, and phone once we were there. I wish I could come to spend a few months a year in this house! It's a great house for anyone who likes being on their own and away from the hotel and resort scene. It's also only a 5 minute drive to the main part of Grace Bay. The location is residential and safe. I am hoping they do not allow any more condos built,or any resorts in Leeward! It's so homey at that end. We had stayed in same place in TCI 3 times prior to this & enjoyed it since it was a small privately owned condo complex with nice live-in manager, but thanks to finding this house on VRBO we realized how lucky we were not to have booked it again or anywhere else! We were talking about staying here again before we even left! Thanks Mary and James
