After a rocky check-in, the rest of the stay was fantastic. Communication with Reid was easy and fast. The house was beautiful, especially the hot tub and kitchen. Thanks so much!
House was great with a lovely view. Hot tub was a nice way to end the day after lots of hiking. Well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Would definitely stay here again if back in the area.
Reid was super! Accomodating, responsive and friendly. The place was great for the whole family and well outfitted with all the essentials. The property and location was perfect for Crystal access and we all had a great time. I would definitely stay here again.
One of the nicer appointed vacation rentals I've stayed at in a long time! Fully stocked kitchen with nice, sharp knives. Super comfy couches, mattresses, and pillows. Beautiful setting along the river with a hothub. 10/10 would recommend and would stay here again.
We very much enjoyed our return visit to this great property that is close to the park. Well equipped with all of the expected amenities in the kitchen and baths, and very nice touches throughout. Will be back!
Had a wonderful stay. The place is spacious and very comfortable. Great location near Crystal Mountain. We loved the hot tub. Reid was really responsive and communicated well. We'll be coming back!
The chalet was the perfect place for my family of 5 during our weeklong visit to Mt. Ranier National Park. Close proximity to the park, the longest drive we had to a trailhead was a little over an hour.
There were plenty of beds, the hot tub was amazing after a long day of hiking, and wandering out to the White River and looking for rocks and animal tracks was awesome. Very quiet neighborhood, perfect for a family getaway.
Wonderful stay for my birthday. Home was perfect. Host answered all of my questions with quick response. Beautiful home seen some elk out back and salmon swimming up stream. Thank you
The location is perfect for those who want to ski at Crystal Mountain and relax at a lovely well kept home with all the amenities and a hot tub. I’ve visited rental homes in the Greenwater area every ski season for the last 6 years and Alpine Bliss is a winner! The owner quickly responds to questions. The house is immaculate and welcoming.
It's rare a listing matches its description so well. This house is large, clean, well-maintained, and the owner Reid is kind and quick to respond. We even saw elk. We would definitely come back!
This was awesome. Beautiful river in the back. Great accommodations inside the home. Very clean. Quiet neighborhood. Easy access to many spots and great hikes in the National Park. The host was amazing. Prompt response and great recommendations for places to go in the area. Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting this area. I will 100% book this place again when I come back.
This place is nothing short of amazing! I really enjoyed this house in Greenwater. We saw so many elk in the morning. It was easy access to the river. There was plenty of kitchen items to be able to cook meals. There was plenty of towels for showers. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. The owner was so easy to get ahold of as well. I would definitely recommend this house to stay at.
We had a great time at this cabin. We were 3 families with middle school aged kids away for a ski weekend. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable, it is well stocked with supplies. We chose it for the proximity to the mountain and size. The bonus was the game room in the garage with ping pong and foosball. The hot tub was nice and the yard was spacious. We especially enjoyed being on the river and watching the elk come through in the late afternoon. I have no complaints, we had a great weekend!
We had a good time and saw lots of elk, including babies.
It was a lovely setting. Neighbors helped me find an entrance to a trail that originated in the cul-de-sac next to ours.
We were disappointed that we couldn't get to the river from the property.
We also had to hand wash forks and glasses after every meal, because there were so few.
The house was charming and garage goodies and hot tub were lots of fun.

Hey Arthur! Thanks for the review, I'm glad to hear the Elk graced you all with their presence. Always a treat. There is a second full set of silverware in another drawer in the kitchen, maybe you didn't find that drawer? Either way, we'll take a peek at the current inventory of silver and glassware. Things do sometimes break or disappear over time. Thanks for the note. -Reid
First off, our family isn't into winter sports so some of the charm of the cabin was lost on us, but that doesn't mean we didn't enjoy it very much. Our stay was after the ski season on Crystal and before the summer activities kicked in so it was very quite; we really enjoyed this. Our two boys (7 & 10) had a ball in the hot tub and also finding good sticks in the yard. Even though others said there was no river access, We found our way to the quite easily but we came prepared with boots. Saw many bald eagles and cool animal tracks near the river. I only wish that there was garage access from in the house to enjoy the ping pong and foosball tables (thin ping pong table could use a little attention). The west view out the large bay window sitting in the main living space was perfect, especially at sunset. Final note, the typewriter is finicky but our oldest loved using it... just pay attention to the ribbon and open the top to advance it and it works just fine.
The Alpen Bliss was a perfect choice for our family Christmas Trip! Reid was great about communication from beginning to end. The cabin was nice, clean and cozy with a beautiful view of the river. A family friendly layout and 2 full baths made it easy for all of us to enjoy the space. The gas range/kitchen-aid appliances were the icing on the cake!
MAJOR PERK- It's an easy 20 minute drive to Crystal Mountain! Our family went skiing and snowboarding twice during our stay. Definitely a highlight!
*I do have to note for those that work remotely that the wifi signal is not strong enough to have multiple devices on at the same time. I had planned on working remotely from the cabin and couldn't. It was hard to get music and netflix at times as well. So-plan on disconnecting from technology. For me, it was a blessing in disguise and forced me to unplug. We cooked, used the hot tub, went for walks, played games, and went to Crystal. And thankfully, Reid had a fun selection of dvd's available for the times we did want to watch a movie.
Overall, we had a great time and we will definitely be back!
Thank you Reid!!!

Thanks Errin! Please come back anytime. For those curious about internet, it is possible to do video calls / work remotely, and it is also possible to do Netflix streaming. However the key to make this work smoothly is for everyone to disconnect their phones and computers from the network while that single device is in use. Our phones suck a ton of data even when they're sitting idle in a pocket, and there's just not much bandwidth available through DSL.
The good news is that I just installed high speed Starlink satellite internet yesterday. It's much faster (30-80mbps), and works really well with streaming. However it's not a perfect solution for live video given that the satellites go out of view for a few seconds periodically throughout the day. Once we get more satellites, we'll be off to the races.
Another option, if folks need to use multiple devices at once, or have important calls, is to serve up a hotspot from your phone (by the window gets the best reception). TMobile, AT&T and a Verizon all get a couple bars out there. It's not lightning fast but suffices.
I've been working from home for Amazon doing video calls without issue using a combo of the DSL and Hotspot, and keeping other devices disconnected from WiFi. With Starlink now we're in a better state yet. But yes, this is a rural town so definitely good for folks to temper expectations on connectivity :)
This was a wonderful place. Just the right size for the family and the layout was perfect. The fenced in yard also let our fur babies run around freely. A beautiful short drive up to Chinook Pass allowed us to make some memories with Mount Rainier. We were also able to take a short walk to the river, and the baby elk greeted us in the mornings. Truly a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing it with us.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay….the weather was perfect & the quite the escape from our Texas heat. The house is exactly as advertised with all the amenities, kitchen is well stocked for your cooking needs. The property is in a great location to Mt. Rainier Nat’l Park & Crystal Mountain, spent a lot of time outdoors hiking the trails in the park. Had elk visiting nearly every morning & evening along with their babies which was a treat. Neil was very responsive….grateful to have had this home open to book. Lots of great memories made!
Hey there! Reid here. I'm a researcher at Amazon, volunteer ski patroller at Crystal Mountain, and run a couple Airbnbs on the side. I look forward to hosting you!
Love food, live music, and outdoor adventures - so don't hesitate to ask for local recommendations!
Why they chose this property
Crystal Mountain has been my playground ever since I was three years old. I've been volunteering here since 2011 on the weekend ski patrol, and it's always been a dream of mine to have a home of my own in the mountains that raised me. I'm happy to share the experience of this lovely home with my guests, when I'm not staying here myself. Please treat it with love, and enjoy your stay!
What makes this property unique
Waking up to the gentle noise of river rapids on summer mornings, with birds chirping is something special. Or in the winter, looking out on the balcony to discover a fresh blanket of light fluffy snow on the deck railing - a reminder that it's about to be a very fun day on the ski hill. This place truly has year-round charm.
