About this property

Two Months of Winter Wonderland this winter?

Close to Stowe Mountain Resort, Sugarbush Resort, Mad River and Bolton Ski Areas, our mountain top home was built as a gentleman's farm; barns, vast lawns and a 4500 sq.ft home in the middle of conserved land over looking Camel's Hump mountain. The pond is luxurious to swim in and provides a pretty unique cocktail hour canoe ride. Patios, porches, fire pit, and private areas in the home offer lots of space to be together or find a private get away moment. There are three bedrooms with en suite bathrooms complete with showers and tubs as well as a bunk room with two twin beds. The kitchen and walk-in panty are fully equipped. Hiking, snow shoeing, X-country skiing starts at the front door onto the logging road trails or into the wilderness for more adventure. We are located four miles from historic Stowe Village, ski capital of the East and home to the Alchemist Brewery.... and six miles north of Waterbury, the craft brew center of Vermont and home to Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream factory. The back road gets you to the ski area at Mt. Mansfield faster than using the well traveled RT 100 and the
Mountain Road. We are a 35 minute drive from Burlington's International Airport.

Our last guests commented: "Tari's place was exactly what we were hoping for, beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, and the fact that it was pet friendly was amazing. Absolutely loved it. "-Alison, Boston MA

Beautiful house and property
What an amazing week in stowe. My wife and our 15 year old son and I enjoyed a wonderful week at the house. We explored the hiking trail on the property, enjoyed fresh lettuce from the garden and eggs from the chicken coop. The house and property are filled with beautiful art and sculptures as well, both large and small. The master bedroom and bath are spacious and luxurious.. Exploring stowe biking and hiking trails was special. But enjoying the house was a pleasure too.

Peaceful Oasis
Tari and Chris are wonderful people and the house is awesome. We spent the summer at their home and our whole family truly loved it--perfect for families. It is great property with everything you could want including its own small lake, vegetable garden & chickens. We saw deer, foxes, and bears from the house in the morning over the course of our stay. The house is about 1/2 a mile off the main road up a hill. It is quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of nature and not seeing or hearing others--the closest neighbor is a ways away. There is even a 1.5 mile hiking trail that starts by the house. The house has everything you might need, fireplace, fire pit and all the kitchen stuff you would ever need and then some. The house is spacious, and there was plenty of room for our family of 7 to spread out and for everyone to have their own space. The house sits between I89 and Stowe (10 minutes) which was ideal for accessing Stowe, shopping, or other trips. We have rented many houses over the years and the experience starts with the hosts. We couldn't ask for better hosts or a better experience.

Family Ski Vacation
This marked our 7th annual, multi generational ski trip. Tari greeted us upon arrival, gave us a tour, and made sure all of our questions were answered before leaving. The property provided ample space for everyone to have privacy, yet also afforded the opportunity for togetherness. The piano and the chickens were favorites of my 10 year old and his grandparents! We enjoyed morning coffee and evening wine overlooking the mountains. The "Loop" though the woods is well worth the effort. We highly recommend this beautiful home!

Fabulous Vermont Vacation
This property was exactly as shown and the owner was a delight to deal with. Tari is incredibly friendly and helpful and checked in all the time. The house and property was fantastic and we had a memorable Christmas with our son who lives in VT. I would recommend this property to anyone seeking a lovely home full of gorgeous art The views are phenomenal and it is a peaceful as you can imagine. It is so convenient to both Waterbury and Stowe for lots of great restaurants and skiing. We spent lovely days hiking around the property admiring the views and visiting the chickens! Fresh eggs in the morning was such a treat! This home is great!

About the host

We are a sculptor/painter husband and wife who have lived on this hill for over 40 years. We will be traveling more often now and would love to share this serene and inspiring property with those looking for a slice of Vermont living at its best.

Why they chose this property

We are centrally located to skiing at Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River, or Bolton. Stowe and Waterbury offer nationally recognized chef-owned dining experiences as well as fun for the whole family. For those who want to go nowhere, our home is ideal for walking, snowshoeing, or cross country-skiing our trails, staring at our mountain views, or reading by the fieldstone fireplace.

What makes this property unique

Being 4 miles south of Stowe Village, we can avoid the sometimes traffic-jammed Mountain Road by taking the back road through Moscow to the Mt. Mansfield ski area in Stowe. We share the top of our mountain with just two other neighbors allowing us to enjoy the quiet sounds of nature.
