More about island...
The Island/beach:
o Sunset is usually ultra quiet
o Bring a good book, walking shoes and beach chairs
o The beach is very wide and is great for walking.
o The Ends of the beach are great places for treasure hunting, we find all sorts of animals and shells. Plan for a low or falling tide for the best results
o The Jetty is about 2 miles from the house on the far west end. It is a fun walk (that’s the only way to get there) and many times we find starfish, sand dollars. You can walk around the jetty and join the boaters picnicking and partying during pretty weather. Along the way watch for a mailbox in the dunes called “Kindred Spirit”. Plan to sit and enjoy the notes left by others or leave your thoughts on one of the notebooks you will find there.
o At the East end- very close to us, the treasure hunting is fun- It looks like you could walk to Ocean Isle but beware, the tide comes in fast and is very strong.
o Bikes are a good activity and can be rented on the island.
o The pier has a nominal cost but is fun to check out the fishermen and their catch.
o Across the bridge Oyster Bay golf course has several roadside ponds and lakes. Drive slowly or pull over to photograph some large alligators basking in the sun.
o There is a small grocery store on the island- limited selection, higher prices – charming and lots of fun!
o Food Lion is just across the bridge with Lowe’s close also
o Ocean Isle is about 10 minutes away
o Calabash is about 10 minutes away
o North Myrtle about 20 minutes away
o Just relax and have fun----
o You need to go to the west end of the beach road to see the Sunset one evening it is breath taking!

Frequently asked questions
About the host
Hosted by Steve Guy
My wife Lisa and I met in school in Charlotte, NC. I am a career banker in Greensboro and Lisa continues to work as a nurse in Asheboro. Our free time is spent at Sunset. We love it in season and out of season. It is our little piece of heaven on earth.
Why they chose this property
Sunset is the perfect place to vacation whether alone, romantic get away, or family vacation. This is a beautiful home on a great street with wide dunes, abundant wildlife, and ocean breezes. You won't be disappointed.
What makes this property unique
Our home was called Snail's Pace when we purchased it. The name has grown on us and is a perfect fit. The home is perfectly positioned a 30 second walk from the beach access and is very livable and comfortable.
From the porch swing and rockers, to games and grilling Snail's Pace provides the most relaxing times possible.
