Welcome to Hawksbill House situated on 2.5 waterfront acres in the private community of Old Hoopers Bay. Built using traditional old-style Bahamian hardwoods and stucco construction, this home affords complete privacy, SPECTACULAR views, and a short walk (or golf cart ride) to the private community beach. The fully-equipped kitchen has multiple indoor/outdoor dining areas, a covered veranda with $1M views of the water, and lush landscaping. Featuring 3 bedrooms all with en-suite, and 1 half bathroom - this home has space for everyone.

Located just 3 miles north of downtown George Town, you’re just minutes from restaurants and grocery shopping.

Snorkeling is available just off the private beach and is perfect for new and experienced swimmers. Third-party boat rentals, snorkeling/scuba diving trips, swimming with the famous pigs and turtles, bonefish and deep-sea fishing, and spas are all within 20 minutes.

Slice of paradise

The Hawksbill House was the perfect place for our family of four (two teens)! The view was absolutely amazing and the private beach was perfect for enjoying the blue water and snorkeling. You won’t be disappointed with this wonderful house and location!

Paradise!

The Hawks Bill House is a perfect spot to stay on Exuma. It has the most incredible view to sit and relax for morning coffee or an evening cocktail. The entire home, including the outdoor living space is so well designed and makes for a perfect place to stay for your vacation. We loved our visit to Hawks Bill House and hope to return again soon.

A little slice of paradise

We loved everything about this property. It’s million dollar views of the turquoise ocean, the cross breezes and the layout of the buildings all contributed to a lovely vacation with our adult children. House is well appointed and the host was more than attentive in answering questions and ensuring we had an enjoyable vacation. I highly recommend a stay at this slice of paradise.

What a beautiful Place!

The house is well equipped for cooking. Outdoor shower for cleaning up after your visit to the private beach! The private beach is the best on the island. We visited several others but it cant be beat! The golf cart made it super handy for traveling to and from the beach.

Great location and host

This property is in the perfect location on the island as its close to grocery and activities on both ends. The view is spectacular and property is laid out with lots of space and privacy. The kitchen is well stocked and has all the needed utensils. The private beach was great for our family and we enjoyed the snorkeling right off the beach. Susan was a excellent host, attentive to our needs, and offered great suggestions on the island. We had an amazing time!

Perfect Retreat

The buildings on the property were the perfect accommodation for my adult children and their significant others. The kitchen was a great place to cook meals together and the property was very close to a great private beach with offshore snorkeling. It was an easy drive into Georgetown and overall an extremely pleasant experience. The owner was highly responsive and a pleasure to deal with.

A Wonderful Stay

Our family of 5 had an incredible stay at Susan's beautiful home. Perfectly situated as a launching point to explore many wonderful spots on the island and incredibly comfortable as we were all able to spread out in the various pods where the bedrooms, kitchen and living areas were located. We wound down on the open porch every night on the comfortable outdoor furniture - it was so quiet and peaceful out there. The kitchen was very well stocked and the golf cart was an added bonus - as was the private beach which we had to ourselves everyday. Heaven on Earth.

Incredible property owners and communications The property uses catch water that looks dirty but is safe. Wi-Fi is limited only to the kitchen area. Beach access is a little hike but small and nice.

Just back from a second stay at this beautiful property. Right off the Queen’s Highway but couldn’t feel more private. Hilltop location offers amazing water views, with the beach two minutes down the driveway next to a lovely shaded, grassy park with hammocks. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Our family enjoyed the combination of private and communal spaces for quiet reading and relaxation in the mornings and card games after dinner. We would happily return for a third visit.

Hawksbill House Review

We had an amazing stay at Hawksbill House! The owner was in contact with us throughout our stay to ensure we were doing great and did not have any issues. The view from the deck is absolutely stunning. The provided golf cart was perfect to load up a cooler and go down the driveway to a beautiful calm beach. We snorkeled there every day that we weren’t on a boat.. There is a reef about 100 feet offshore. Lots of fish, sea turtles and beautiful helmet conch.

Perfect spot for our family of four

Hawksbill was awesome! Great, central yet private location with 3 large bedrooms reach with there own spacious bathrooms. A well appointed and comfortable lounge room great to play cards, puzzle, and read with a view of the most crystal clear water. Short walk or golf cart ride to a secluded beach that has snorkeling, sun and views for days. The outside patio was where my husband napped daily and we took in the sunset. Exuma is amazing and this house is perfect to enjoy with a family or a few couples. We will be back!

Great house, beautiful scenery!

We had 3 couples stay here and the house is perfect for it. The house is set up in pods with the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom in separate buildings. The other two bedrooms are located in the two story building with one upper and one lower bedroom. The bedrooms are all spacious with their own attached bathrooms. Kitchen is well stocked. The outdoor areas are beautiful and great for relaxing. We drove from one end of island to the other and this house is in a great location in the middle. Owners were easy to talk to and took care of any problems that came up. The private beach that is located steps away is the most tranquil little spot with a bench and a swing. Would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the trip house is wonderful . A few items need some improvement . The washer was not working , The Refrigerator need to be leveled and the doors needed to be adjusted , I would suggest a small fan in each bathroom the weather was warm and the bath room were steamy .

perfect Bahamian getaway

The Hawksbill house is a true gem. Off the beaten path, but close enough to all of the island's amenities. The house is incredible, that our family of six really enjoyed. Very comfortable beds, bathrooms, and kitchen. The patio is best with great a breeze and absolutely stunning view. The private beach on Hooper's bay is superb, with a great snorkeling spot 100 feet from the shore. The owner was extremely helpful and connected us with a fantastic chef that we really adored. Overall, one of the best vacations we have ever had. Our family likes to get to remote locations and the Hawksbill served as a great homebase for numerous adventures. Many thanks to Susanne and Sann Sann, it could not have been any better.

Spectacular spot!

Our family of two adults and three children (aged 10-13) just returned from a week at Hawksbill House. This was our second time on the island and our first stay in this home, but hopefully not our last. Beautiful, private location in a quiet neighborhood with a beach and shaded park area. We spent part of several days there and explored other beaches for the rest of our trip. Comfortable beds, a great cross breeze and a well-equipped kitchen made this an ideal home base. Playing cards with the kids on the patio at night and coming back out to watch the sun rise over the water the next morning - family time doesn’t get much better! Susan was an excellent host who provided clear instructions and quick response times. Highly recommend.

Wonderful in every way!

We recently spent a week at Hawksbill House and quite honestly would have stayed another month if life would allow. We loved everything about this resort like home and grounds. Especially the spectacular view from the very comfortable patio. The location was perfect too. We enjoyed the feeling of seclusion, but appreciated that it was only a short run to the market when we needed provisions. We can’t say enough about our host too! She was very accommodating, helpful and gracious. She actually noted that there was rain in the area one day and reached out to offer suggestions on fantastic locations to grab lunch and dinner that provided outdoor covered seating. Our 9 year old son said it all on the last day of our stay - “We will definitely be coming back!”

Million dollar view

The view is from a postcard, with a cross breeze that refreshes you instantly. This property is ideal for 2 small families or a multi generational family as there are 3 unique and separate small buildings housing the bedrooms. The largest areas are outdoors (back porch seating and large outdoor table) which is great when weather is lovely. The kitchen was by far one of the best stocked we have experienced if you plan on cooking. The golf cart was in great shape and was mission critical to get to the small beach and relaxing hammocks daily. The home is well maintained and decorated with all the essentials you will need for your stay. It is a nice touch to include some chairs and floats to enjoy the crystal blue waters. The communication was top notch if we had any questions or needs during our stay. Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise.

Our stay at this waterfront home was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene beauty of the surroundings. The house itself was immaculate, with decor anppointed just right and comfortable furnishings that made us feel right at home. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the stunning waterfront views. Waking up to the sight of the sun rising over the water each morning was a breathtaking experience. We spent countless hours lounging on the spacious deck, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and watching the boats sail by. Exquisite meets Comfort

We stepped off the grid to Hawksbill House in Exuma for the week, not knowing just how fabulous and functional Susan's home is. Much to our surprise, this beautiful property offers plenty of seclusion with amazing views, tradewind breezes and a stone's throw to Old Hooper's Bay private beach (gettable by Susan's complimentary golf cart) to swim with turtles. The traditional Bahamian pod-style worked well for our young-adult family. Everyone had private bedrooms/baths, yet we all socialized in the kitchen, living room and wrap-around porch. Kitchen amenities were "like-new," the ACs kept all rooms cool, and the strong wi-fi was key for late night dance parties on the porch (bring your speaker :). Susan's keen interior design sense is "sophisticated island-style meets durability." A bonus--beds and pillows were SUPER comfy; outdoor showers were a nice surprise and the kitchen is equipped with every gadget imaginable. Our greeter also made sure to point out the starter supply of water, coffee, spices, sugar, etc until we made a run to the local market. ---which there are several close by. I would highly recommend Hawksbill House-- it's ideal for 3 couples or a family with teenage-adult children. Also, be sure to request a batch of Bahama Mama's for your arrival---nothing will get you on island time faster!!

Disappointing!

The property is as. described, great views and privacy. Beautiful garden. The first four days of our short vacation spent dealing the fact property was not ready for guests. We toted water to flush toilets which did not have water for 4 days and none in the upstairs bedroom, the entire trip. Had to detail clean the kitchen, get the golf cart ready. Service people never came (AC) did not work. No remote in the living room area(never used the space). Overall, the hosts were attentive but none of the service people materialised, electrician came on the Saturday evening before we left. We spent most of the time at the house waiting for service people "on their way." Again, the house is nice, the view is spectular. Property. Managment needs serious. improvement so when you arrive, do not have to spend most of the vacation a ttending to getting the place ready. The bathroom situation was the worst part of the stay. Arriving exhausted, we tried to commuicate in good faith with the hosts, we should have reported to VBRO within the 24 hours as instructed. In "good faith" we allowerd the hosts to convince us "help was on the way in timely fashion, not so.!" As a guest, I finally gave up trying to deal with all of the problems and day 4. the housekeeper arrived with a bag of irish spring soap, 2 boxes of tissues, I was past the point of talking anymore. JUST exhausted from the small but most important issues when you check in to property. Nice people, the hosts, my energy sapped!

Slice of Paradise

Hawksbill House is a true slice of paradise. It is in a beautiful secluded location and has an unbelievable view of the bahamian waters. The ocean breezes are very relaxing and will quickly relieve you of any stressful thoughts you may have. It is centrally located and convenient to everything. We had access to a very private beach with the house and visited several other beautiful beaches. The separate pods of the house worked very well for our multi generational family gathering. Susan was a very gracious and accomadating host. She thought of everything we might need and provided it. This house is truly unique and we definitely plan to return! -Dean R.
