Great tucked away cabin!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It had everything you needed plus lots more. It’s tucked away perfectly with the sound of a beautiful creek close by. It was very clean and very well maintained. Lots of room and beds were very comfortable. Close to downtown Blowing Rock and so many other things. Highly recommend.

Great Stay at Cabin in the Woods

Place is very clean and well equipped all around; kitchen, entertainment, linens, etc. Very convenient to hiking trails and downtown Blowing Rock was an easy 5 min drive. Loved sitting on the porch and listening to the water babbling in the background. We enjoyed smores by the fire pit every night. We had a fabulous stay!

Secluded but close to civilization

Great cabin in the woods. Secluded but only a few miles from the towns of Blowing Rock and Boone. Cabin was very clean and spacious for our family including our pet. The trails behind the cabin were awesome including the creek which is only a few yards from the cabin. Great communication with the property managers. We will definitely be back.

This beautiful cabin is secluded, peaceful, but near enough to the town of Blowing Rock. Loved the porch overlooking the woods and enjoyed a fire in the nice patio firepit a couple of nights. Our dog loved running in the woods!

Great space

This cabin is perfect for a family looking to do a remote getaway, but still have amenities and nice restaurants close by. The basement space, which has its own deck, would be great for spending family time together playing games. My husband and I stayed for App State’s family weekend, so we didn’t get to enjoy as much as we would have liked and when the kids came back with us, they were too tired from the football game to have a fire in the fire pit or play games downstairs. We were hoping they would get up early enough to hike the woods which has several trails, but, well, they are teenagers. The gravel lane down to get to the cabin can be a little hairy, so take it slow, especially around the large rocks at the hairpin turns. We did not feel comfortable having our 19 year old daughter to drive it, so my husband drove her car in and out.Again, we wished we had more down time to enjoy all this property has to offer.

Great location and beautiful cabin. The cabin was wonderful and very clean. We enjoyed the game room and the porches along with exploring the trails. Highly recommend going if you need a place to unwind and unplug from the world! Great place to spend time with your family and to bring your dogs! We will definitely go back!

Peaceful Oasis in the Blue ridge mountains

A Cabin in the Woods is truly a magical, gorgeous property! The cabin had plenty of room for us to spread out and really enjoy ourselves, and have a bit of privacy as well! Very well stocked kitchen, the lower floor has so much entertainment from foosball, ping pong, and a wide variety of movies to choose from if that's your thing! Two decks and the fire pit area really were nice additions. The walk down to the woods has a nice safe staircase to lead you down to the lower wood trail. Overall this is a wonderful property I highly recommend it! Very easily accessible from the highway, and so so close to everything you want to do! Communication with the host was great as well! Five stars 10 Stars 20 Stars. We loved it!

Steep and dangerous driveway access

The access to the cabin wasn’t described accurately. The access road was so steep coming off the paved road that my husband had to get out and guide the car so I capsule stay on the road. You can’t see the road you are entering due to the drop from the roadway. Plus gravel road and many switchbacks and the entire road is very narrow and lots of big rocks on the turns. The cabin is in a nice setting but needs a refreshing. It looks kind of neglected which is sad because it is a nice house. We left on the morning after we got there and checked into a hotel as there was no way we were going to do that drive down to the cabin a second time. Not worth it. Expensive mistake on our part but owners didn’t present the driveway as bad as it actually is and we didn’t want to drive in and out multiple times during our stay.

Overall great stay

The cabin is spacious and comfortable with lots of games, books, and videos. The property is beautiful with trails to follow and a stream you can hear from the cabin. The king bed in the loft is probably past its prime, the internet was super spotty, and the drive is best suited to 4WD. Be sure to bring paper towels and TO because very little is supplied.

Serene and secluded

Loved spending a few days here during spring break. The gravel road down to the cabin is steep and curvy. Glad we had all-wheel drive and good weather. But it was worth it for the peace and quiet. Cabin was lovely and well-appointed. Fire pit was great and there are wonderful walking paths down to the stream. My son loved the ping pong and foosball tables. Internet and streaming were spotty (no surprise) but there are DVD players. We mostly stayed outside and enjoyed the views.

Beautiful Cabin

Beautiful cabin tucked away in the woods. We (especially our children) enjoyed exploring the trails and creek on the property. The owners had a big collection of games, board games, toys & trinkets for all ages, as well as a huge collection of books & DVDs you can tell the owners have put a lot of thought and care into their vacation rental! Our favorite part was the downstairs game room! We enjoyed our stay so much and plan to return in the future!

We had a wonderful time staying at this cabin! The location was absolutely perfect—close to everything we wanted to explore while still feeling private and peaceful. The cabin itself was beautifully maintained, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely stay here again! A Great Stay in the Woods

This was a great stay in the forest. Very well appointed accommodation with the three bedrooms, fireplace and gorgeous deck. We were old friends getting together to reminisce about the good old days so the time around the campfire was perfect!!! The location was also perfect with access to the Blue Ridge Highway as well as restaurants and shopping. ————————- ——————— One final note apart from how much we enjoyed the home, setting and location: I have stayed at a lot of rental properties, and I’ve gotta say that this was the first one where I’ve had to 1) make our own beds when we arrived 2) empty the dishwasher 3) strip our own beds when we were leaving 4) put the bedsheets, towels, etc. in and start the laundry 5) load and start the dishwasher and 6) collect and take out the trash…and pay the $163 cleaning fee. I look forward to staying here again!!

Cozy cabin in the woods

Just a few things others might find helpful when thinking about booking this cabin. Overall our stay was great and the cabin is as described. Communication with owners and rental company was easy! The driveway was not a problem in an SUV, just take it slowly. For us...the master suite loft has one of the attached bathrooms. That is mentioned online but I read right over it as soon as I read loft. The loft is definitely spacious and has the biggest bed, but even for milder summer temps, it was not comfortable/cool enough at night. There are no air vents but there is a fan. You're also left to waking up with the sun if that's your thing. We were a party of two couples and decided on the 2 bedrooms downstairs. So one of us couples had to use the bathroom upstairs by the loft. The bed mattresses were comfortable but both beds squeak pretty loud just when moving ever so slightly. Some kind of map or indicator where the property line ends would have been helpful when exploring the trails. It may be as simple as it goes down to the creek and that's the end, but we didn't explore very far not knowing whose property we were on. All in all, cute cabin with lots to do off the beaten path yet still close to town and major road.

Beautiful setting, lovely cabin

The cabin was comfortable, clean, well-equipped, convenient to the absolutely beautiful town of Blowing Rock; communication with the owners was very easy. The setting is wonderful. We loved going down the short hill to the creek, and loved reading on the spacious porch, listening to the rain. I will note that the gravel road to the cabin is a bit challenging; you'll need a high clearance vehicle. Do not expect internet or cell service. The owners have provided many DVDs and books for entertainment. We were there to hike and relax. Highly recommend Hellbenders for dinner, and hiking to the Linville Gorge/Falls. Yes, we'd recommend the cabin to friends, and yes, we'd return.

Great spot

We had a great time at this cabin. Perfect size for four adults plus dogs and wonderfully clean, especially for being pet-friendly. So convenient to Blowing Rock, too. Hard to beat that location. As other reviews have stated, the driveway down to the cabin is rough, but we were able to do it in a sedan several times with no issue. Would only recommend an experienced mountain driver handle it, though, and only with some daylight. The deck was amazing for morning coffee and birding. Would definitely stay here again.
