Villa Avvisania is a lovely country house, perfectly equipped, offering privacy and high quality accommodation for up to 4-5 people (2 air-conditioned bedrooms).

It is situated in the small and typical Greek village of Markata: a peaceful and tranquil village, approx. 5 km from the picturesque yachting port of Agia Efimia, embedded in the high mountains of Pylaros. The famous beach of Myrtos, definitely the most beautiful beach of Kefalonia, is only 5 km from the villa. Surrounding Agia Efimia there are numerous clear blue pebble coves and beaches, ideal for snorkelling. The location is ideal for nature lovers and hikers. You can walk for example the main road to Agia Efimia. You will pass through an old traditional village, above the valley of Pylaros and facing Agia Efimia and the sea. You can also walk to the beautiful Monstery of Themata (approx. 4 km) which offers spectacular views. Markata is located in the centre of the island, and is thus an ideal base for exploring the island.

The villa is surrounded by spacious terraces offering both sunny and shaded areas. The pool and the pool terrace (with relaxing sun beds and sun umbrella) are on the south-western side. This location offers plenty of sun during the whole day, privacy and a panoramic view of the sea, Agia Efimia and the surrounding mountains. On the eastern side there are 2 terraces made of natural stone and furnished with comfortable garden furniture. There is plenty of space for children to play. A very old olive tree adds Mediterranean charm and provides shade and pleasant coolness even in the hottest summer months.

Lovely villa with views. Really relaxing, immediately felt like home. Pool great and aircon in rooms and living area helpful when temperatures peaked. Eleni was great and provided us with a good range of food on arrival. It was just a 10 min drive down to Agia Effima and great location for exploring the rest of the island. But the best thing was sitting out on balcony with a glass of wine enjoying the views. coming to clean mid brea

Wonderful break

A very comfortable villa with everything we needed.Eleni left us a lovely welcome pack which meant we didn't need to go shopping immediately. She was very welcoming and also answered any questions we had promptly whilst we were there. The villa was very clean and although in a small village it was very easy to get to places to eat and explore. You do,however need a hired car to get around. We visited many places but also spent time by the pool. The 3 terraces around the villa means you have many choices to sit out and enjoy the views. We had never been to Kefalonia before and very much hope to come again abd would definitely choose the same place.

We spent 2 fantastic weeks in this beautiful villa. The villa was spotless, well maintained & just as descibed on the website. Eleni the owner could not do enough for us. She brought home made wine, fruit & other treats when she came to clean & even bought us a gift when we left! The location means that you need a car, but it's only a few mins by csr to the village centre. It's our 9th year in Agia Efimia & this lovely villa & pool will definitely be home to us again!

Wonderful host

I would definitely recommend this property and location. Eleni was a wonderful host, she had everything ready for us, including some very helpful provisions. When our flight was delayed by 3 days, Eleni bent over backwards to accommodate us and provided an alternative property for us to stay when our original booking had expired. The next property was also very beautiful and super comfortable. The area is tranquil and a great base to explore the north of the island. Agia Efimia is a lovely town with a delicious bakery and quiet little beaches. The local taverna is well worth a visit or two! A very enjoyable holiday, thank you so much!!

Great villa with amazing host

This villa is super clean, the bed is comfortable , good wifi , kitchen is spotless, close to Agia Efimia, close to Myrtos! Everything that you need , plus a wonderful host ! Eleni will spoil you with fresh eggs, fridge almost full wine etc! Nice touches like extra large towels and good quality bedding! A delight! We highly recommend!!

Perfect holiday for a small family

We had a fabulous stay at Villa Avvisania and can't recommend it enough. The villa is charming, comfortable and kept spotless throughout (we were pleased to learn that regular cleaning is provided which we didn't expect). Eleni provided such a warm welcome and totally spoiled us throughout our stay, leaving basic food supplies (and plenty of wine!) on our arrival so we didn't need to worry about anything. The pool is a great size and set in beautiful outdoor space. As we were travelling with a toddler, we were pleased to learn that the pool is elevated above ground level and accessed via steps which felt really nice and safe. The village of Makriotika is beautiful, peaceful and welcoming: set into the hillside you get stunning views down to the sea at Agia Effimia. Particularly lovely is the view from the taverna and kaphenion, both of which provide delicious good-value local food. Makriotika welcomed us with open arms and by the time we left it felt like everyone had made friends with our little girl! Thank you so much Eleni for a perfect first family holiday - we will never forget it.

Really lovely villa with great facilities.

we were very pleased with the booking process and efficient communications and directions to the property. we were welcomed on arrival and met Eleni. The villa is well positioned in a small village about 3 kilometers outside Agia Efimia. The villa is well maintained and has all of the necessary equipment for a holiday stay. we were given a welcome pack to get us started and throughout our 10 day visit we were given very nice gifts from Eleni such as her husbands home made wine, sweets etc. she was a great host who was very friendly and kept the place immaculately clean. We loved sitting out at night hearing the call of the owls in the distance. We had visits from some wild peacocks (very odd sounding call!) and the local cats. The location of this villa is perfect for travelling around the island as it is quite centrally located so you can easily travel to the main attractions. It is particularly close to the famous turquoise seas of Myrtos beach which is simply beautiful. Other highlights would be Assos (Stunningly Beautiful) and Fiscardo which can be easily visited within around 30 and 45mins respectively. Make sure you add in a visit to Argostoli to see the Loggerhead Turtles that swim along the edge of the quay where the fishing boats are selling their daily catch. The pool is a good size and enjoys the sun all day into early evening. there are a couple of terraces that offer shade when wanting to seek some shelter when its too hot. We would certainly recommend this villa and would return if coming back to Kefalonia.

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf. De woning is erg gezellig en het is een fijn zwembad. De locatie is ideaal met op een paar kilometer afstand Agia Efimia; een kleine haven waar wel alles te krijgen is en met een erg goed restaurant (Sea Rock). De Yellow Boats zijn zeer de moeite waard, vooral om te snorkelen op lege strandjes. Erg leuke duikcursus.

Eleni was a fantastic host, kind enough to supply us with fresh eggs and her husbands home made wine, and even a leaving present for us. The villa has everything you need with the most stunning views and very close to all your holiday needs, local food shopping, butchers and restaurants only a 5 min drive away. A lovely villa and surroundings.

The villa was ideal for us. Although there were a number of steps, they were easily manageable. Facilities within the villa provided all that we required and to a high standard for a short or long stay. Regular visits from the owner were very welcome and her gifts of wine, eggs etc were very generous. The location was beautiful overlooking the valley leading down to Agia Effimia and the three open sides gave lovely views of the surrounding area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to return in the future.

Lovely villa

Property immaculately clean, very well equipped, lots of different areas to sit outside both sun and shade. Lovely pool. Air con very efficient. Eleni very helpful and welcome basket fantastic. Within walking distance of one taverna and a cafe/bar and a short drive or taxi ride to Agia Efimia. We felt very relaxed here and had a superb holiday.

Fantastic villa in a nice peacefull location. Exceptionally clean and beautiful maintained. Owner was very very helpful and extremely kind leaving us lot's of nice little gifts e.g. fresh eggs and salad. All theses little touches made our holiday very enjoyable. Very close by car or taxi to some beautiful restaurants. Would recommend this villa to anyone looking for a mixture of peace and quiet but with the opportunity to dip in and out on nightlife. Will definitely be back someday.please dont miss out. One thing to bear in mind you definitely need a car in this location.

We had a wonderful two week stay in Villa Avisania. The villa provides you with every comfort one can imagine. It is in a quiet unspoiled location. The wonderful village of Agia Efimia though is near. There are splendid restaurants and the village is very pretty. The house really feels like home. It is cosy, comfortable and the swimming pool is just wonderful and very private. It is centrally located on the island, so we enjoyed touring the beautiful Island of Keffalonia. The house is very well maintained and we even found regular supply of fresh eggs in the fridge. Eleni, thank you very much for you kindness! We had the most amazing vacation in this splendid spot and we would love to return to it! We recommend it for people you look for a peaceful surrounding and yet close to all the ameneties you want.
