'Villa Castelos' is a very large family 4 bed (2 en-suite) 4 bath villa, with full air-con throughout, Wi-Fi Free Of Charge ) own 10m x 5 heated pool at rear of villa, with large garden in a plot size of approx half an acre. Comfortably sleeps 10 using cot + portable bed. Games room with full size table tennis, darts, table top football & Golf putting mat & small exercise machine on an exercise mat. Also has outside badminton, books/DVDs & lots of family games. British satellite TV with ITV/BBC. Close to Moncarapacho/Quelfes/Olhao with other exec villas. 20+ mins Faro airport. 10-15 mins drive to superb beaches and golf. Excellent bistro just 900m from villa down an unmade up road. Castelos has a large garden surrounding the private furnished pool terrace, with BBQ and deep shade. Fully gated with plentiful parking. Large lounge with dining area off seats 10, modern kitchen & utility room.

There are 4 very large bedrooms, 2 which are huge (double) king size with en-suite bathoom's, and 2 twins (singles) downstairs with a shared bathroom & separate shower & toilet off the Lounge area.

The 1st floor master bedroom has it's own furnished terrace and also a separate terraced area for other guests.

There are 4 luxury bath/shower rooms.

Clean, Spacious and Very Well Equipped

We had a lovely time at Reg & Gill's villa. It was an easy booking process and they sent us a lot of handy info on the villa and things to do in the area. Some of the bedrooms lead straight out to the pool and the bedroom upstairs had a glorious balcony view, so there was no time spent debating who got which room - they were all great. the living room area was spacious with comfy sofas, the kitchen was really well equipped. Loved using the BBQ to eat outside in the evenings. The pool was lovely, spent lots of time cooling off in it after a long hot day exploring nearby towns and beaches. The table tennis, table football and all the other games we found downstairs absolutely exceeded our expectations! Sue met us on the first day and was extremely welcoming and informative. We had a perfect family holiday in this villa and would 100% return!

Comfortable and clean villa in good location

We really enjoyed our holiday at Villa Castelos. It was very spacious, clean and comfortable with a fabulous pool. It was well located for sight seeing and there is an excellent and reasonably priced restaurant within walking distance. We will definitely return to this lovely area and to this villa.

Fabulous house for large families/group friends

Thank you for the fabulous house you gave us! Everyone loved the week, the house and all the space and features you have there! Really nice place to spend a few days with a group of friends or a large family. Really quiet and peaceful place. You have everything you need in the kitchen, dinner and lounge room, wc for everyone and a very pleasent garden around the pool, with a lot of toys and places to rest by the pool. Definitely recommended!

Superb villa in a quiet, private location

Probably the best villa myself and family have stayed in. Very spacious airy and well equipped. A quiet and private location, with just one bar/restaurant in the close vicinity, but lots of others a short drive away. For me, Olihao, is a must, to visit, for markets, shopping and bars and restaurants. I will recommend this villa to friend and family and will visit again.

Relaxing and comfortable

Really enjoyed our stay, the villa was great! The area is reflective of the other side of the Algarve 25 years ago (Val de Lobo) when I used to visit Portugal! Love the unspoilt feel! We used the BBQ every night and there was adequate space for the 6 of us. The villa surpassed all expectations from the photos on the internet, great outdoor space and the villa and pool were larger than I was expecting. Great facilities (inc games room) and easy access to the nearby towns and attractions as well!

Superb Villa

Really impressed all round, spacious, well equipped, pool was fantastic, recently re-grouted, underfloor heating was really nice with the cold evenings. Would recommend this villa to family & friends. Weather was really nice, even dipped our legs into the pool, sun loungers were really soft & comfortable. From start to finish we had an amazing time. The villa exceeded expectations! Sue was lovely and went out of her way to help in any way she could. The villa had everything we needed and our kids loved the x box!! It was a good base and meant travelling to Vilamoura, waterparks etc was not a long journey. Will definitely be back! Thanks for letting is stay on your beautiful home.

Fantastic family villa

We stayed for ten nights, there were ten of us that stayed we all found we had plenty of room, the bedrooms were spacious the living areas were spacious aswell. The pool was lovely which we used every day. Nice location, we hired two cars between us all which allowed us to venture out to the surrounding areas which are beautiful. We would highly recommend this villa and we hope to be going back in the near future.

Large, spacious family friendly villa in Portugal

This was a really enjoyable stay in a large, clean, spacious villa in a peaceful area with a private pool and large garden/terrace area. Facilities within the villa were very good, the kitchen was well equipped with lots of utensils and pots and pans as well as a built in barbecue area. Large dining area inside as well as table and chairs outside. Air con was effective. The pool was a good size and there were sun loungers by the poolside. As well as wifi, there was a games room inside the villa, lots of board games, CDs and DVDs on site as well as a badminton and tennis set. Set in a good location, very peaceful with neighbouring towns a short 15-20 minute drive away. There is a local restaurant which is a 15-20 minute walk from the villa owned by a lady called Maria, which does great food at a reasonable price. Nearest beach 10-15 drive away. Lots of food markets to browse in neighbouring towns as well as shops. Olhao is a great town nearby with lots of restaurants and shops as well a beach you can access by ferry. Lots of boat tours depart from Olhao, we recommend Natura tours. 3.5 boat trip which departs from Olhao and takes you to Culatra island, a fishing village. Here you can sample some fresh fish in one of the restaurants. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this villa, great weather and lots to do nearby.

Wonderful time at a great villa

Eight of us (six adults and two children) stayed at Villa Castelos for a week at the beginning of July. All the rooms in the villa are very spacious and it could easily accommodate another two people. Having four bathrooms was great and meant no logjams when we all wanted to get ready in the mornings or go out in the evenings. Allied to this there was always plenty of hot water for everyone for showers / baths. The villa has all the amenities you need for a holiday, with good kitchen facilities, BBQ and loads of cooking utensils / cutlery / crockery. The free wi-fi was a great boon and three or four of us used it a lot without any major signal problems. The pool is fantastic and the water is kept at a really nice temperature – I’ve been in pools in Portugal before where the pool has been so cold it barely got used. Not in this case – we were splashing about in it everyday and it has some nice pool lighting for the evenings. It was great just sitting outside in the warm evenings and sinking a few cold beers! There are two big fridge freezers in the villa by the way so plenty of space for all the food and drink needed. The villa is well maintained, quite private and the area itself is quiet so if you just want to chill out all day you won’t be disturbed much. I wouldn’t recommend using the villa without having a car as there are no shops nearby and only one restaurant (Maria’s), which is about a half mile walk from the villa. The roads around the development are unfinished and a bit bumpy but a minor inconvenience. A ten or fifteen minute drive will take you to Olhao or Moncarapacho. We tended to go to Olhao as it is much bigger and has a significantly better range of shops, supermarkets and restaurants. The villa owners, Reg & Gill, are very helpful, accommodating and easy to get along with. They can also be quite flexible with dates, presumably as long as not the peak summer weeks, if you want to try to tie the booking in with cheap flights. Sue, the property manager, is also very helpful and just lives round the corner should any issues arise. All in all I would definitely recommend Villa Castelos.

The best pool we've had on a holiday.

We've just returned from a week at this villa and we enjoyed every minute. Large villa with plenty of space. Very comfy. The heated pool is amazing. It's the best pool we've had on a villa holiday because of the fabulous temperature of the water. We used the pool every day even into the evenings. Great communications with the owners & the manager out there is very helpful. A car is a necessity but it's easy to find your way around. Albufeira and Quarteira aren't too far away. I would definitely recommend it.

Great Time had by all !

Arrived to a clean and tidy villa , beds all made up . Villa is of a very good size , plenty of big toys for our children Villa has been well looked after , everthing worked correctly, Aircon was a massive plus. We found this part of portugal very resonable price for meals and drinks, typical costing us about 50 Euros for good meal for 4 with wine and drinks. A car is a must , shopping at the larger supermarkets prove very cost effective . We will be going back again to this area and hope to stay here

Our Wonderful Holiday

Flight arrived on time , car hire for once was stress free, the Villa was easy to find, with only a 20 minute trip from the Airport Just a few words to say what a wonderful time we had at this Villa , We arrived on the saturday , the villa was spotless , nice fresh bedlinen and piles of soft fluffy towels. Having had many family holidays in Portugal , we decided to stay on the eastern side of the Algrave , we where not disappointed, we came across many beautiful resorts such as Fuzeta, Olhao lovely beaches and walks. What was amazing was how cheap it was eat out , we have a good meal for around 12 euros, pint of lager was between 2-3 euro's , clearly are money went a lot futher. The Villa was well equiped , stocked with good selection of games and books. The pool was really good and so warm . The Kitchen was large and well speced, the Aircon was a big plus. We would recommend this resort to any one , note a car is needed , we hope to go back soon Mr & Mrs Essex

Lovely Family Holiday

We returned here in September for the second time & had another fabulous time. The accommodation is spacious & clean & having your own pool is priceless. All the younger members of our group enjoyed the basement & spent many evenings enjoying the games. A car is essential for sightseeing & travelling to restaurants, but for a relaxing holiday this is the ideal location.

Super Vila Castelos

Excellent family or group accommodation in a rural location on the Algarve . The villa is very spacious and has been finished to high specification with a large patio area around the heated pool. There are several restaurants within 10 minute drive and all offer good value for your euro. The area is a chance to see Portugal away from typical tourist area and is ideal if you just want to relax and have a stress free holiday. Car is essential if you wish to explore the area as the location is off the beaten track but the beaches , golf courses and popular tourist are all a short drive away. Would definitely book again.

Disappointing holiday

I would not recommend this villa to anyone ! It is located on an urbanisation which is half completed , no work had been done since 2006 . There are half built and abandoned villas , the roads are not finished and stray dogs and cats roam about . The villa was not clean especially bathrooms and external patios . The garden was overgrown and not useable , the "boules " area was basically a large cat toilet and stray dogs came into the garden which was not secure The kitchen was in an appalling state , the cupboards were peeling , and damaged . The listing advised 4 bikes and. A ps2 and Xbox , none of which were in the villa . English tv was not available until several days after our arrival meaning we missed the Wimbledon final and World Cup . The basement games room was damp and unusable , the ground floor bedrooms were damp . This was a much needed holiday , which was costly and very disappointing I would not give it any stars based on the price charged . It was lovely to get home to a clean comfortable house !

We live in Ipswich, England, I am married to Gill and we have two lovely son's, we hope one day to be able to spend much more time in Villa Castelos as our retirement home.

For now though we let the villa to friends, family and rental guests to enjoy the peaceful country side all around our villa.

Why they chose this property

We love Portugal, especially this lovely unspoilt and low cost part of the Eastern Algarve. We find the local people very friendly and welcoming. There are some really lovely beaches and unique beach islands within 10-15 mins drive of the villa, also new golf courses. Eating out is a real pleasure, with lots of low cost restaurant's all within a few mins drive of the villa.
Your euros most definitely go further, you can still enjoy a glass of wine or beer at 2 euro's in this part of the world! There is a superb low cost bistro just 950mt from the villa, where clients go time and time again. We particularly recommend Moncarapacho & Olhao for fish & Pasta lovers where superb fresh fish is landed and served on same day and the excellent pasta restaurant.

The local Supermercardo keeps a good wine selection or do a large family shop from all of the various Supermarkets situated in Olhao.

What makes this property unique

You will find our villa very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We visit ourselves at least twice a year and bring many 'extras' with us for your enjoyment. Our games room with 2 bikes, darts, table top football and full size table tennis caters for all ages and there is also a large box of toys, books, DVDs for the youngsters. We also provide up to 8 pool & beach towels - so no need to use up valuable kilos in suitcases! Our Our Our local manager Ine's & (Rodolfo - pool man) is excellent and will meet you soon after arrival at the villa and remain on call 24/7 throughout your stay. A valuable service and one we know our clients very much appreciate. There is an excellent welcome Book in the villa with info on places to visit, best restaurants and things to do. We hope you enjoy the villa and the local area.
