All main rooms are on the ground floor, including one twin bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen and all terraces situated around a beautiful free style swimming pool (100 /210 cm deep) with overflow (water level = terrace level). The main entrance, at the back of the property, is at street level to ensure easy access for wheelchair users. The villa is situated only 5 minutes by car from the lovely beach ‘Praia da Luz’ and the unspoiled village centre with its small collection of seafront bars, shops and restaurants. Luz is located on the quieter western Algarve (where summers are less hot) and only 1 hour drive from Faro airport. Burgau, a traditional Portuguese fishing village and Meia Praia beach are just a few minutes drive away… You can play golf nearby at any of the six international courses that are in the area (between 10 and 30 minutes drive). Lagos town is just 5 km drive and bustles with nightlife including a world class marina and sea fishing.

Great holidays

Lovely house in very quiet neighbourhood. Very well equipped for a comfortable stay. Pool is fantastic with nice views over the ocean. Owner (Hans) did everything to facilitate a pleasent stay. We will return for sure!

Spacious Villa in Beautiful Setting

This villa is a hidden gem! We loved its peaceful, elevated position with a beautiful sea view. The pool was absolutely amazing—much larger and more inviting than it appears in the photos. We spent hours swimming and relaxing, and the water was always clean and a perfect temperature, even in the evenings. The lack of air conditioning was not an issue; the provided fans and the villa's position meant it cooled down nicely as the sun moved to the back of the house later in the day. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed for meals, and the surrounding plants added a lovely touch to the outdoor space. The 20-minute walk to town was a pleasant way to start and end the day. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect villa in the sun

The photos of this villa does not do it justice. It wows when you arrive. It is perfect! Everything you need is there. Peace and tranquility. Beautiful pool and a very friendly pool guy. There is no ac but there is a beautiful breeze throughout the villa. Hans, the owner, is a lovely man and responds to any questions. The hill is steep down to Praia da Luz but either rent a car, uber or if you feel brave walk. If you are looking for a perfect villa and location, look no further. Thank you Hans.

Fabulous spacious villa

We had a brilliant family holiday in the villa . The contact and communication with owner and local team was first class . They were very helpful. The Villa is very well equipped and lovely and clean . We had plenty space for all 5 adults. We did hire a car for some of our stay which I would recommend as it can be very hot to walk up to the villa from local shops .

Beautiful villa

The villa is clean, very well kept and well-placed, being only a short walk (15 mins) to the centre and beach of Luz, and a longer scenic walk along the coast to Burgau. We chose not to hire a car (off road parking available), instead relying on ubers (plentiful) making dinner in Lagos an easy evening trip. It was wonderful to wake up each day and watch the sun rise whilst sitting by the pool. The villa is on a quiet residential road so very minimal traffic. Hans was an excellent host - very responsive and communicative. Overall a fabulous villa in a great location.

Spacious property with lovely views, owner very helpful

Lovely property, and great communication with the property manager and owner. Fabulous pool, and all amenities as advertised. The cleaners were a bit unreliable and didn’t do a great job, and we did have some problems with the electrics failing, but the property manager and owner addressed these as quickly as possible. The property experience would benefit from some minor adjustments - we would have liked a few more pillows and newer larger towels, plus a comfy sofa in the living room, and some brighter lighting. However, overall, we had a great stay and enjoyed the property. Many thanks

Fantastic villa

We stayed as a family of 4 in the villa for 2 weeks in August. We are very familiar with the area having visited regularly over the last 15 years and the location is excellent, you can walk to the beach and restaurants in 10 minutes or so, little bit longer on the way back as everything in Luz away from the beach is uphill ! Villa was spotlessly clean and we were met by the very helpful villa manager on arrival who gave us keys and shows us round. Property is very comfortably furnished with nice big rooms, a well appointed kitchen with everything you would need and fantastic outside space with pool and large gated driveway. The road the villa is on is very quiet cul de sac so very little traffic going past at all. Communication with the owners was excellent and very responsive, would recommend highly and would be happy to rent again.

Maison trop proche les unes des autres

Maison bien équipée, sauf la cuisine oú le réfrigérateur ne fonctionnait pas bien (aliments et boisson pas assez froide. A partir de 16h30 plus de soleil sur la piscine. Un hôtel en bas cache le vue sur la mer. Sinon Lagos est magnifique et ses plages très belles. S

Perfekt!

Z Wir konnten einen wunderschönen Urlaub in diesem zauberhaften Haus verbringen. Es fehlt an nichts. Alles ist wie auf den Bildern bzw. wie beschrieben. Die Lage ist für uns als Ausgangspunkt für viele Wanderungen und Erkundungen der Umgebung hervorragend; in Randlage und trotzdem konnten wir abends im Ort essen oder spazieren gehen. Wir waren mit Mietwagen unterwegs; haben aber auch Uber genutzt, wenn wir „one way“-Wanderungen unternommen haben. Die Begrüßung und Kontakt vor Ort sind herzlich und absolut zuverlässig. Hans ist ein großartiger, hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Auch wenn es mit der Buchungsplattform mal etwas „hakte“, war unsere Kommunikation zielführend und freundlich. Danke Hans, für diese „Zusammenarbeit“ und vor allem die geöffneten Türen deines portugiesischen Paradieses - es war rundherum perfekt!

Spacieux et au calme

Super villa grande et spacieuse, bien agencé. Piscine de bon format avec terrasse ensoleillée. Quartier résidentiel au calme, vu sur mer qui se situe a 15mns à pied des plages typiques et calme de l’Algarve . Hans est tres à l’écoute de vos demandes et répond rapidement. Location super fiable !

Estancia fantástica en Praia da Luz

Muy buen alojamiento en Praia da Luz. La casa es muy amplia y confortable y está muy bien equipada. La comunicación con el dueño fue muy cordial y nos dio todo tipo de facilidades e información, siendo también muy flexible con nosotros (la alquilamos durante la pandemia de COVID-19). La casa está muy bien ubicada, con unas vistas bonitas, y permite llegar andando hasta el pueblo de Praia da Luz. Está rodeado de villas tranquilas, sólo alguna noche escuchamos algo de música de otra villa cercana, pero fue puntual. Nosotros fuimos con un bebé de un poco más de un año muy inquieto y es verdad que hay que estar muy atento, porque la piscina no está vallada y hay unas escaleras que pueden ser peligrosas, pero el dueño también nos avisó de antemano. Nosotros eramos varios adultos para vigilar al bebé y no tuvimos problemas, pero es algo a tener en cuenta con niños pequeños. En resumen, nosotros pasamos una estancia maravillosa y la recomendamos sin dudar.

lovely villa

what a lovely villa. location on a hill with sea views. 10 min walk to Luz and beaches. Villa is large and spacious and in very good condition. Utensils and machines etc are in good working order. Comfy beds also. only possible downsides are the pool is to the front of the property and hence visible from traffic on the road and neighbours. (however it is a very quiet road and we didn't see much of the neighbours). While we were there it was very hot and had trouble sleeping. However after 4 days we we supplied with portable aircon units for each bedroom. I would definitely recommend this villa. It is great.

great villa holiday

Beautiful property,well appointed,spacious and airy. Perfect for families. Private pool was a hit with all the family. Great outdoor space for dining and relaxing. 10 min walk into town with a good range of restaurants and a lovely beach. The photos do not do this property justice, we look forward to visiting Villa Mariposa in the future.
