The master bedroom has air conditioning, every other bedroom has a large ceiling fan, which is more than is necessary, as the thick stone walls keep the house cool in the summer.
The character and charm of this renovated old stone built farmhouse benefits from the magic and calming medieval village of La Garde Freinet about 2/3 kms away. The villa boasts many areas to relax and enjoy, wonderful far reaching views of the hills, valleys, village and the Mediterranean sea. Please view the video, which confirms that the views from La Bergerie are spectacular. You overlook the vine yards and olive groves of St. Clement. It is a short drive to the renowned towns of St. Tropez, St. Maxime, Grimaud and Pampelonne beach, where life is vibrant with many restaurants, bars and clubs for all ages.
La Bergerie is private with secluded grounds that are not overlooked. 11 acres to discover!! You can holiday in the comfort of an old stone farmhouse, with a new (and frankly stunning) 10 metre infinity swimming pool, 2 bbq areas, with a choice of several different outside eating areas, some shaded, some not. For those of you who want a shaded spot, an outside lounge/dining area with fridge has been added. This looks out onto a large lawn for the kids (or adults!!) to kick a ball around.
There are plenty of terrace areas for sun loungers, leading from the pool house to the pool and around it, with an adjacent boule court for the energetic.
The property is one of the highest in the area and the views are quite breathtaking, whether the sun is rising in the morning or setting in the evening. See video.
The inside of La Bergerie has been totally referbished in Provincial style. The accommodation boasts 5 double bedrooms, all with en-suites although one is a w.c. with basin, and a shower room, basin and toilet, nearby.
There is a dining table inside, for 10 people and in the court yard, for 12 people. A new very expensive 10 seater dinning table has been added to the bar area. (a special birthday present for Ali from his family!!) Please treat it with great care.
The grounds and the garden offer lots of open spaces to roam around and investigate with ample space to park numerous cars and secure electric gates at the bottom of the private drive. We don't know of any other houses in the area with such available space to use. It is a flat, tarmac, road from the village.

Uitstekende locatie met prachtig uitzicht

Door omstandigheden in het hoogseizoen op zoek naar een rustige locatie. Dat was het! Een fantastische omgebouwde boerderij met volop privacy met een zwembad en poolbar area. Geweldig zicht over het dal en bergen. Voorziening inclusief WiFi waren goed. Fatsoenlijke supermarkt wel op enige afstand 15-20min rijden maar dat zorgde ook voor alle rust in het nabij gelegen dorp en omstreken. De ruimte en rust rondom het verblijf met alle ontspanningsmogelijkheden zorgden voor een perfecte vakantie!

We had a good experience renting this beautiful property. The owners were super helpful and responsive and their lovely family home ensured our family had a wonderful holiday. The views from the bar and pool are absolutely stunning, we never wanted to leave that view! The house had everything we needed for a 2 week escape!

Paradise in France

We had a fabulous stay at La Bergerie - an exceptional property with absolute privacy; idyllic and quiet, yet not far from the beach. The house has been carefully renovated and lovingly furnished. We enjoyed the beautiful gardens, especially the pétanque course and the amazing pool area with a magnificent view into the hills of Côte d'Azur where you could even discover the sea in the distance. The staff was also very helpful. We would come back anytime!

What a fantastic home. When I booked, Ali said the photos did not do the place justice and he was right. The views are incredible, especially from the beautiful outdoor pool and bar area. The kitchen is well stocked and it really feels like a home from home. We were very sad yo leave but pretty sure we’ll be back 😊

About the owners-our names are Carole and Ali we are in our 70s, have three huge sons in their 30s, and three gorgeous daughter-in-laws. We live in Dorset. We had been looking for a house in different parts of France for many years, we fell in love with La Garde-Freinet. We bought La Bergerie in Sept (09)
Why Provence?
The hills overlooking the Cote d'Azur give the best of both worlds. The views of the Med. are breathtaking and the ambiance of the medieval village fantastic. The peace is there if you want it, so is the razzmatazz of St Tropez with its boats, beaches, marinas, celebrities and night life.
Benefits of La Bergerie- 11 acres of land to discover the comfort of a restored old stone farmhouse, new swimming pool, and pool house/bar, two bbq areas, several different outside eating areas, some shaded some not and a breakfast/lunch/dinner table in the summer room.

Why they chose this property

We rented the property from the previous owners to make sure it was as beautiful to stay in as it looked. It was. We fell in love with it.
The property is 11 acres so gives you peace and quiet and tranquility, no overlooking from other properties. But it overlooks olive groves and vineyards and rolling hills down to the sea in the distance.
La Bergerie is situated at the top of a long drive straight off a quiet tarmac road. It is 15/20 mins to the A8 and to St Tropez and Sainte Maxime. (subject to traffic). Cogolin, Port Cogolin, Port Grimaud and Grimaud are all closer. It means that the high life is near at hand. The best of both worlds, it's there if you want it.

What makes this property unique

As the photos confirm the views from everywhere are stunning. Image being in the private swimming pool or sunbathing around it and looking down on a picture postcard.
11 acres of your own land means you don't have to go to the country you have your own. Beautiful coloured butterflies and moths, tortoises, birds etc all for your enjoyment. Terraces created by previous owners possible for vineyards and old stone buildings used for making charcoal all there for your adventures while roaming over the hilly woods.
Walking and mountain biking straight from the property along marked routes to poetic places.
The village of La Garde-Freinet is friendly and fun and has all the shops bars and restaurants that you could want. There is also the old fort to investigate and The Cross high above the village
