About this property
Romantic Farmhouse in Flanders, 30 km from Ghent
Den Haegepreeck is a lovely Flemish farmhouse in the historic village of Horebeke, close to Oudenarde (8km) and Ghent (30km). Set in the rolling green countryside of the Flemish Ardennes which has numerous hiking and cycling possibilities. It would make an ideal base from which to explore some of the most interesting and undiscovered parts of Belgium. The charming property dates from 1805 and is sympathetically restored and authentically furnished (Less suitable for people having difficulties with stairs). The house has modern comforts and central heating. On colder days you will undoubtedly enjoy relaxing moments by the wood stove in the cosy living room or at dinner in the equally cosy dining area and then an exciting game of billiards. On sunny days the garden and terrace are fantastic to sample a local beer or enjoy a barbecue with family or friends.

We are a Belgian family and we hope to offer you a nice time in our holiday home!
Why they chose this property
This property used to be my parents' weekend house. At the moment they bought it, I was 4 years old and we lived in Brussels. The cottage had been empty for 15 years and my parents made much efforts to restore it, while keeping all the authentic details. When I grew up, I met my husband in the local youth club and now we live permanently in Horebeke. We already rented it for more than 2à years as a holiday home and in the beginning of 2019 major improvements were made to the cottage, but we also tried to keep the typical and cosy atmosphere of the former Flemish farmhouses. There is now an extra toilet and bathroom upstairs, the roof is well insulated and all the bedrooms were freshly repainted and re-decorated so we really hope you will enjoy your stay!
What makes this property unique
Since it makes a good base to enjoy the beautiful green landscape as well as the historic towns, it makes an ideal base to explore Flanders.
