Very good

Needs some TLC urgently. Only appears to have had a cursory clean for a long time, under furniture and around edges of rooms dusty and grimy and kitchen needs an overhaul. Shower leaks into kitchen and must have been like this for some time with the markings on the ceiling. No wifi instructions and TV not connected to internet so was useless. Very disappointed. No response from owner to various messages.
Lovely few days based in a very picturesque part of Devon. The house was comfortable and spacious for our family’s needs and in a good location. We had a delicious meal in the local pub at Hope Cove on the final night of our stay.
A lovely little cottage 10 minutes walk from the beach
A well equipped little cottage that proved to be a lovely home for a few days. As has been previously mentioned the cottage is small, so whereas it was perfect for my wife and I and our cocker spaniel, families with older children might find it a bit of a squeeze! The kitchen had everything you could need (apart from oven gloves). The only other thing missing in the property was coat hangers. It’s perfectly situated in a beautiful part of Devon and walking to South Milton sands and Hope Cove was easy.
The property was fine. Comfortable, well - stocked and welcoming but on the small side especially the kitchen/ sitting area. It felt
particularly small as we were a party of 6 including 3 teenagers and a dog. The weather wasn’t great which resulted in us spending quite a bit of time at the house. It just wasn’t quite big enough. The local area was beautiful - lots of fabulous walks and great beaches.
Poor check in process as no details about key safe were given and we could not get hold of owner by phone - he is overseas. Managed to get hold of cleaners eventually who helped us. property has been poorly maintained - and requires some updating , especially kitchen . Freezer door was broken - owner did offer some money back but this should have been replaced . Lovely location of property with beautiful outlook but it needs to be kept cleaner and maintained better . Not really value for money compared to other places we have stayed .
The host was accessible and friendly, ensuring that we had all the information on the property to make for a lovely weekend escape with friends. The quiet and charming cottage was so relaxing, with views of the ocean out front and a pleasant 15 minute walk down to the water and cafes. Highly recommend.
We had a great time at Inkwell Cottage : great location, very comfy and with everything you need. The beach is only 3 minutes away and Salcombe 15 minutes away.
We had a lovely week at Inkwell Cottage, perfect location for walks to the beach and blackberry picking, but away from the crowds of Hope Cove. Beautiful views. Thank you Andrew!

A bit expensive given the lack of wi-fi, TV signal , towels. But we had a pleasant enough stay. The tree across the road scraped the roof noisily when the wind blew . We could not contact Andrew on the number given.
Stunning location, with valley backdrop reaching down to the harbour. Very peaceful quiet and safe. Easy parking, very convenient access. Very restful. Charming host and great neighbours Phil and Sally.

Nice stay, but could've been better
The cottage is quaint & in a great location. It's very peaceful with lovely views accross fileds with a glimse of the sea. We had a really nice short break staying in Hope Cove. The house needs a bit of TLC - kitchen lights didn't work, some of the furniture has seen better days, beds were uncomfortable & matress covers were gross. It's fairly well equipped. But there are a few basics that would've made our stay more comfortable. Such as bins in bathrooms, towel hooks on shower room door, coffee maker/machine. The BBQ was in a poor state too, so we didn't use that. It wouldn't take much to make this little place great. But none of that stopped us having a nice time.
Clean, comfortable holiday cottage in quiet location. Well equipped but only 4 mugs not chipped and only 2 tea plates. Overhead lights in kitchen not working. Lots of places of interest and lovely sandy coves within easy reah.
Great location! House is quite small and basic but overall we had a great stay!

Lovely part of the country
We enjoyed our stay in Galmpton. Small village within walking distance of Hope Cove.
Comfortable cottage, well equipped and situated in walking distance to the beach, coastal path and malborough which was ideal for us. Would stay here again
Gorgeous little cottage nestled between 2 lovely homes. The garden was perfect for our Labrador to sit and ponder however as the neighbors (understandably) didn’t want dogs in their part of the garden and there was no fence dividing we had to use our car as a makeshift gate and barricade ourselves in. This could easily be solved with a cute fence and gate.
However that didn’t take away our enjoyment; the cottage had everything that we needed and we throughly enjoyed our stay.
We would have Benefited from a little pack of local information but we worked it out in the end:
There is a coop and petrol station in Marlborough which is right out of the cottage.
Hope Cove is left out of the village and has 2 beaches .. inner Hope is good for dogs all year round and Outer Hope allows them in winter . There are restaurants and bars at outer Hope but the walk is only about 5mins between each other .
If you wanted to walk to Hope Cove from the cottage then make your way to the church and at the right hand corner at the back of the church grounds is a gate that leads to a field once through the gate follow the edge of the field up to the far left corner where you will come upon a lane. Turn left and walk for about a mile and this leads you to the coastal path. When you reach the cliff you turn left for Hope Cove or right to walk along cliff to Milton Sands Beach.(good for dogs all year round).
Salcombe isn’t far from the cottage but a pain to park .. there is a “park&ride” just outsidewhich I highly recommended. To park all day is £3 and a return on the bus is £1.70 each.
Back to the cottage:
We would most definitely stay again ; the bedrooms were lovely and clean and the beds very comfortable. All rooms overlooked the fields which was perfect.
We went for a 2 night stay with 2 friends and we were really pleased with the cottage.
Everything we needed was there - the only thing I would have liked was a mirror in 2 of the bedrooms.
A lovely quiet part of the Countryside with beautiful views.
I would definately return.
