About this property

Cosy cottage in the beautiful Livradois Forest Auvergne

A brand new renovated cottage located in the Livradois forest in the Auvergne. Surrounded by woodland and beautiful scenery, it is a perfect holiday for those who want to get back to nature in an area of France which is unspoilt and peaceful.

The cottage is an addition to our already established luxury yurt campsite, Auvergne Naturelle. Guests have the option of using all the campsite facilities and participating in bushcraft courses three times per week.

The cosy cottage consists of two bedrooms, one main bedroom with 160cm king size bed and the second bedroom with two single beds. There is a large bathroom with separate shower and roll top bath. The open plan kitchen dining area has a log burning stove and a rocket stove ( heated seats in the winter!). There is an outside eating area with picnic bench.

Evening meals are offered three times per week with the option to dine with our other guests in the large barn area.

Bush craft courses for both adults and children are available and run three times per week during the summer. Great fun for all the family!

Ruhe und Erholung in herrlicher Natur

Ein abgeschieden gelegenes Feriendomizil mit herrlichem Panoramablick in die Berge des Naturparks Livradois-Forez. Das Ferienhaus (im Cottage-Stil) ist Teil einer ausgebauten Scheune, die auch als Treffpunkt genutzt wird - hinter dem Haus hangaufwärts befinden sich noch zwei große feste Zelte für Familien, die aber die entspannte Atmosphäre überhaupt nicht stören, im Gegenteil. Die Vermieter Robert und Kathryn sind unglaublich hilfsbereit, nett und immer auf das Wohl ihrer Gäste bedacht. Man kann Frühstück bei ihnen buchen und dreimal in der Woche ein Abendessen. Zudem gibt es sehr nette Angebote wie. z.B. eine Wein- und Käseverkostung regionaler Sorten in der Scheune, die wir in sehr guter Erinnerung behalten werden. Neben Wanderungen sind auch Ausflüge in die kulturell ansprechenden und sehenswerten Städtchen mit Auto möglich - nach Chaise-Dieu beispielsweise sind es ca. 20 Minuten. Wir würden dieses Haus immer wieder buchen und hatten insgesamt eine wunderbar erholsame Zeit dort. Mit grundlegenden Englischkenntnissen klappt im Übrigen die Kommunikation wunderbar.

We are Kathryn, Robert and our two daughters Daisy & Olive. We moved to this beautiful part of France in 2009 and set up our luxury yurt campsite, Auvergne Naturelle. We have now finished our second project, our gite which has been lovingly restored as a cosy cottage.

Why they chose this property

We are in the middle of nowhere in a national park and we feel as though we are part of nature. We love the amazing views, the bird song in the morning and the sound of the river at night time. We have 20 acres of woodland and meadow to explore !
