About this property

House T2 with excellent views, located in the historical center of Funchal.
The modern design house consists of two bedrooms with large areas much and solarentos. The double bedroom has a balcony facing south, the bay of Funchal, with chairs and hammock for relaxing. Besides the magnificent view you can enjoy the sun all day and watch the fireworks on festive seasons.
The second bedroom has two double beds. This floor has full bathroom.
Downstairs is the dining room and living room, a service bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and access to a very cozy patio with garden chairs.
The change of bed linen and towels and housekeeping is weekly. You can request extra service of daily monitoring cleaning, with additional payment.
We can also arrange airport taxi transfers with reliable driver, babysitter service, sea surf activities, paddle, sup, windsurfing, boat down the coast for dolphin watching and other marine animals, recommended and paid for locally.
Convent of Santa Clara, Museum of crosses, English Church, Church of St. John the Evangelist from Funchal College, Cathedral of Funchal among many buildings, museums and moments that you can easily visit on foot without the need for transport. As well as the shops and restaurants and bars in town.

Super séjour !

Maison conforme à l’annonce. Rien ne manque. Hugo est disponible et aux moindres petits soins. Il est très gentil. Les extérieurs sont vraiment un plus. Merci à lui pour les bières dans le frigo ! C’était très bien

Belle location dans vieux Funchal

Belle maison très bien équipée Décoration originale Hôte très sympathique. Produits de première nécessité fournis. Hugo nous a offert plusieurs petits présents. Nous avons eu chaud la nuit car pas de climatisation mais des ventilateurs sont à disposition . Pb d évacuation et d odeur au niveau des toilettes. La literie serait à remplacer car fatiguée La place de parking est dans un immeuble voisin Le retour à l appartement est un peu sport à pied ou en voiture car les rues dans le vieux Funchal sont étroites et pentues. L.ideal est de descendre à pied et de remonter en taxi (8 euros maximum le soir) Il faut aussi préciser que beaucoup de chiens aboient dans le quartier... + cadeaux

Hugo est un homme adorable, généreux et aux petits soins. Sa maison est agréable et spacieuse et les extérieurs sont un plus. Près du centre , en 5 min à pieds. Les inconvénients : l'accès en voiture très compliqué dans la rue (conseil se garer plus haut et gratuit) et surtout les chiens qui sont nombreux à japper une grande partie de la nuit (boules caisses obligatoires). Hormis c'est deux inconvénients Hugo et sa maison sont vraiment top :)

First Visit To Funchal

Lovely House , Spotlessly Clean , All Home Comforts Hugo is a fantastic host , Very friendly and replies to messages very quickly . He greeted us on our arrival showed us around and how everything works . Property is situated in the heart of the village , lots of little local shops dotted around but on a very steep hill . You can walk everywhere which is great lots to see and do . We ate out every day and would try somewhere each time We caught a taxi back most evenings which isn’t expensive €5-€6 . And only takes about 7 mins max if that , We will definitely return to Funchal . Many thanks Hugo

Highly recommended value for money

The house lived up to expectations and the landlord, Hugo, was way above expections. He gave a very good introduction to the house and he was extremely helpful during our stay. Hugo even had bought beers for his guests to consume free of charge. View from upper terrasse is really good. Close to city center and harbour via a bit steep roads. Could be an improvement with a larger table at the upper terrasse. Only minus were a few bugs in the bathrooms.

Great location - away from the busy tourist section but close enough for a pleasant walk(just be prepared to walk uphill coming home). Good exercise! The apartment had alot of old world charm and the all the amenities for cooking and washing clothes

Fantastic house

Sizeable property with lovely courtyard and balcony. Totally private whilst in amongst the locals. Lots of cafes and bars within walking distance. Steep walk back up from town but the no. 15 bus stop is just up the hill and you can walk downhill from that. Fabulous south facing view. The house has everything you could want and more. Thank you Hugo for everything.

Great New Year”s Break

One of our bucket list items was to see the NYE fireworks in Madeira. We booked this 12 months ago and as ever Madeira did not disappoint. As for the house it was well kitted with all you would need and more, clean and tidy with a great view of the marina from the balcony. Our host Hugo was excellent both in comms before we arrived and met us personally at the property to give a guided tour. Nothing was too much trouble and whilst unobtrusive it was reassuring to know if we needed anything or advice he was available. Whilst 15 minutes walk from the promenade in Funchal you should also explore the local area, the cafe at the fort is well worth a visit. Be prepared for the hill climb, we did it most days but in the evening got a taxi or Bolt back up the hill, cost between 4 and 7 euros depending on taxi service and time of day.

Traumhafter Ausblick von der Dachterrasse

Unser Aufenthalt in Funchal war perfekt. Die Kommunikation mit Hugo war (obwohl es ein Mißverständnis mit der Anreise gab, der Fehler lag auf unserer Seite) hervorragend! Er hat uns einen sehr freundlichen und äußerst zuverlässigen Taxifahrer vermittelt, der uns am Flughafen abgeholt hat. Der Empfang im Haus war super nett, obwohl es sehr spät war. Das Haus ist groß und hat alles was man braucht. Eine kleine Bar befindet sich die Straße hinunter, wo man das Nötigste einkaufen kann. In zehn Minuten ist man in der Altstadt, der Weg zurück dauert etwas länger, da man bergauf muss. Von der Terrasse hat man einen grandiosen Blick auf das Meer. Wenn wir nochmal nach Funchal kommen, werden wir gerne zurückkehren. Vielen lieben Dank für alles!

Traumhafter Blick

Wir waren eine Woche in der sehr geräumigen Wohnung mit einem wunderbaren Balkon. Die Ausstattung war sehr gut mit allem was man braucht und noch viel mehr. Hugo der Eigentümer war sehr hilfsbereit und eine große Unterstützung. Funchal ist sehr hügelisch und die Wohnung liegt erhöht. Wir haben uns ein Funchal Busticket für die Tage geholt und haben so die Gehzeiten verkürzt. Es war ein sehr schöner Urlaub immer wieder gerne.

Great value for family

Hugo was a delightful host and the accommodation was very spacious and well equipped. A steep but short walk from the old town that was plentiful in good value bars and restaurants. For a family on a budget this was great!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in Funchal sehr genossen. Die Kommunikation mit Hugo im Vorfeld war sehr gut. Er hat uns einen sehr freundlichen und äußerst zuverlässigen Taxifahrer vermittelt, der uns am Flughafen abgeholt hat. Der Empfang im Haus war sehr herzlich, Hugo ist ein sehr großzügiger und liebenswerter Mensch. Zur Begrüßung gab es einen Obstkorb und einen gut gefüllten Getränkekühlschrank. Ansonsten war im Haus wirklich alles vorhanden, was man für einen zweiwöchigen Urlaub benötigt. Ein kleines Café befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft, wo man täglich u.a. Brötchen kaufen kann. Nach einer Woche wurde das Haus sehr gründlich gereinigt und neue Wäsche bereitgestellt. In zehn Minuten ist man in der Altstadt, der Weg zurück dauert etwas länger, da man bergauf muss. Dafür hat man von der oberen Terrasse einen wundervollen Blick. Wir werden diesen Urlaub und unseren Aufenthalt in Hugos Haus in sehr guter Erinnerung behalten. Vielen Dank noch einmal für deine Gastfreundschaft.

2 outdoor decks were very nice, great location, could walk to downtown Funchal but took taxi back each night. The grades of the streets are upwards of 45%.
