About this property

Ocean front facing luxury apartment in excellent location- Roda Mar

This self catering apartment facing the ocean overlooking the promenade and landscaped gardens, is in a excellent location, for your holiday rental, relaxing, beautiful sea views. Situated on the popular Estrada Monumental, where many 5 star hotels and restaurants, bars, shops, supermarket, banks, taxi ranks, bus stop, all within a few minutes walk. The centre of Funchal is a 5-10min ride by bus/ taxi. Or a pleasant walk along the promenade for about 25 minutes. There is a coastal promenade adjacent to the apartment complex, which also gives access to natural rock pools and two swimming complex's. Also, there is a new health club, with indoor swim/pool, sauna, Turkish bath, gym, tennis court, etc close by. The apartment faces seawards and with its 3rd floor location enjoys beautiful sea views. Furnished to a very high standard. Fully equipped for your every need. We are there to add that personal touch, and greet you on your arrival, and to insure you have a relaxing holiday.


On your arrival: On your arrival we can arrange for transport to and from the airport to the apartment for you, we have a father and son taxi driver's who we have used for many years, and are friendly and very reliable, and speak very good English. They will collect you from the airport and take you to the apartment where we will be there to greet you and show you around the apartment, and to answer any questions you may have. There will be a welcome pack for you on arrival also.
If you should need any extra help or advice on anything, we would pleased to help.

On arrival at the apartment, when I greet you. The tourist tax has to be paid to me, in cash. The cost is 2 euros per night, per guests. For the maximum of 7 nights. i.e. 14 euros each for a 7 night stay or more. Which I have to then pay to the local council on your behalf.

The apartment is very central, with good transport available close by, but if you should wish to hire a car, there is a underground parking space available in the building.

On your departure: On your departure we will return to the apartment to bid you farewell, and to ensure you have had a good holiday. Time of departure from the apartment on the day is flexible, depending on the time of new arrival's. The usual time of departure is 10am, but luggage can be left until your departure to the airport.

Great getaway, ideal location

Rose Marie welcomed me for a week in her apartment, which was very comfortable to stay in and superbly equipped, she has truly made this a home from home for visitors. It is in an Ideal location with convenient shopping facilities close by and excellent transport links. Abundant eateries are within minutes walk and there is a lovely sea view from the balcony. There are also spectacular walks along the promenade close by.I would highly recommend this apartment!

Great Location

We enjoyed our stay in Rose Marie’s apartment. The location was perfect with grocery store in shopping mall across the street. Also access to taxis and the bus stop was just out side the apartment building entrance. Lots of good restaurants nearby. We enjoyed many meals and glasses of wine on the balcony. Views of the ocean were spectacular. Complimentary maid service once a week was really appreciated. Thanks again Rose Marie. We loved Madeira

Perfect location!

We had the pleasure of staying at this property. Rosemarie is a great host, very attentive, first time I had a host greet us in person and walk us through the property. Even provided some staples for the fridge! Very thoughtful. Property is within walking distance to many good restaurants and shopping. Convenient Taxi stand in front of the property. We took a taxi to the outdoor market in Funchal and walked back. About an hour but it was a nice leisurely stroll. We will definitely stay at this property again when we return!

Great stay

We really enjoyed staying in Rosemaries lovely apartment! We felt very welcome and were so happy that we found such a nice place. The apartment was clean and we had more than enough space, everything what we needed we found. Busses, beach, supermarket, nice restaurants and promenade were very close. Thank you!

Excellent Apartment

The apartment was amazing, the view from the living room and the balcony was 10 star rating, actually the whole apartment is aswell, Rose Marie had everything you needed and more she greeted us at the apartment, then showed us around gave us loads of information about supermarket's, trips,other area's of interest. I would highly recommend this amazing apartment to stay at,to visit this fantastic island of Maderia

Perfect location for exploring Madeira

We spent almost three weeks at this apartment and were extremely pleased with it. The location was perfect, both for exploring Funchal (a decent walk downtown and an even better bus ride back on a direct bus route and a stop just across the street) and the entire island as it was an easy drive from here out to the freeways. The private parking is especially helpful in this regard. The Madeira Forum just across the street was a plus, especially the very good grocery store on the lower level. The apartment was spacious and well furnished, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had plenty of hot water. Wifi was good. The washing machine was a real benefit, with a very good fast cycle that many machines lack. The balcony was of course great for views anytime, and for evening cocktails and morning breakfasts when the weather allowed. Rosemarie was very responsive to our questions and provided good information and recommendations. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Lovely Apartment overlooking the sea.

The apartment is very spacious and we had everything we needed to make us comfortable during our week’s stay with free WiFi, TV, DVD and CD Player, very well equipped kitchen and a balcony overlooking the sea. The Apartment is only a few minutes walk from some great restaurants, supermarket and Shopping Centre and the bus stop with frequent buses into Funchal town centre. It is possible to walk into the centre of town, but I had hurt my foot before we went on holiday so it was great having a bus stop nearby as it is not easy to find parking in the town. Rose Marie was there to welcome us when we arrived and able to give us loads of information on the local area. She also telephoned during our stay to check if everything was OK for us and came to say goodbye at the end of our holiday. The apartment comes with a parking space in the basement of the Apartment block which was very useful for our hire car. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment. It was spotlessly clean upon our arrival and a very nice welcome pack was included in the price.

Die Wohnung ist sehr schön eingerichtet und gepflegt. Sie liegt sehr günstig. Mit dem Bus kommt man in ca 15 Minuten ins Zentrum von Funchal. Das Einkaufszentrum Forum Madeira, Restaurants, Bushaltestelle und Taxen sind direkt vor der Tür. Zur Lido Promenade geht man ca 5 Minuten. Ein Tiefgaragenstellplatz ist inklusive. Die Vermieterin Rose Marie ist ausgesprochen nett und hilfsbereit. Wir wurden persönlich empfangen und es standen sogar schon ein paar frische Lebensmittel im Kühlschrank bereit. Während unseres 2 wöchigen Aufenthaltes wurde die Wohnung einmal komplett gründlich gereinigt und Handtücher und Bettwäsche getauscht. Ein Nachteil ist, dass aufgrund der zentralen Lage leider der Verkehr sehr laut ist und es gibt keine Klimaanlage. Ansonsten unbedingte Empfehlung.

A beautiful apartment in a perfect location. We were met by Rose Marie who showed us around the apartment and pointed out restaurants, supermarket and bus stop etc. The apartment is like home from home it had everything we needed and Rose Marie left a few little luxuries so we didn’t need to go out, which was really lovely after arriving late in the day. WiFi was excellent and fans were available in the bedroom and living area. The supermarket is straight across the road in the shopping centre and restaurants are plentiful and all within a few minutes walk. We walked into Funchal and also into Camara de Lobos both along the promenade which was lovely. Would we stay in this apartment again? Most definitely, it’s 5 stars from us.

Un super séjour

Nous avons adoré notre séjour à Madère ! C'est une île incroyable, qui offre des paysages ) couper le souffle et où il est rès agréable de séjourner.L'appartement ést très agréable, et fonctionnel. La parking souterrain est un véritbale atout ! Il est très bien situé pour visiter l'île de long en large.A proximité, se trouve des spots pour se baigner.Et on peut également aller au supermarché à pied.Un grand merci à Rose-Marie pour les échanges en amont de notre venue, et pour son accueil à notre arrivée. Nous recommandons sans soucis !

Wonderful Stay!

What an absolute fantastic apartment, excellent location, very very clean, responsive Owner answered all our questions quickly. The view from the balcony was amazing! Easily accessible to many restaurants. The promenade, where you can walk along the beach, is just in your backyard. We loved our stay there and would definitely recommend.

Eine wunderschöne Woche in einem super Apartment

7 Tage haben wir im Apartment von Rose Marie gewohnt und es war wundervoll. Die Lage hätte nicht besser sein können und der Blick direkt auf das Meer war wunderschön. Die Wohnung war super ausgestattet und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Rose Marie ist eine hervorragende Gastgeberin und wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Summertime Trip

What you see is what you get. 3 weeks we stayed. Safe, clean, and great walking location. We rented a car for 1 week and it was safe in the garage below the unit. The only thing that could have made it better was some afternoon-evening AC.
