Built in 2012 Larchwood is a beautiful luxury cedar lodge overlooking the historic Duke's Pond. The lodge is located on the edge of Greystoke Forest, with views towards Blencathra and the Northern Fells of the Lake District National Park. Its unique location and exclusivity provide the ultimate haven for getting away from it all. The lodge has a large gated decked area with tables, chairs, sun brolly and flower planters together with three private gardens and a shed for storing outdoor equipment. The gardens are an oasis for watching wildlife, frequently visited by a wide variety of birds, red squirrels badger and roe deer. Being on one level the lodge is wheelchair friendly with a portable wheelchair ramp (on request ) giving access via front door or decking area . The lodge itself provides 1st class accommodation for up to six people with a master bedroom with king size bed (with luxurious en-suite ) TV with DVD. A comfortable twin bedroom and bunk bedroom (adult beds) with fairy lights to delight the children and a spacious family bathroom. The living area is finished to a high specification with two comfy leather sofa,s , swivel bucket chair & coffee table. The lodge has full fibre optic broad band . The TV has Amazon Prime , and a blue tooth radio for playing your own personal music. A large fully equipped kitchen, dining and lounge area promoting a wonderfully social holiday atmosphere. The double French doors open up onto the secluded decked area, extending the living space for BBQs, entertaining and relaxation. The environment in and around Dukes pond is a haven for wild life and this year we have seen a multitude of bird species including the greater spotted wood pecker, and a plethora of red squirrels to entertain you . This year we have nesting moorhens, ducks, water shrews, newts , frogs and toads. The lodge offers a 365 days of the year experience with each season showing the lakes at its best. The lodge is perfectly located to explore the northern lakes with the delightful towns of Keswick, Penrith and Pooley Bridge within 30minutes. Together with the splendid Derwentwater and Ullswater
