About this property
Beautiful Country Villa with stunning views, private pool & tennis court
Beautiful Country Villa.
* Linens washed with quality product at high temperature * Villa cleaned by a professional team with sanitizing agents When you arrive at Casa Jane you know you have come somewhere very special. You are greeted by stunning views of the Alpujarra mountain range, the village of Frigilliana nestling in the foothills, and the town of Nerja where it meets the Mediterranean. If you can tear yourself away from the view, you walk onto the generous terrace with its 10m x 5m swimming pool, outside kitchen and Casa Jane’s fantastic ‘gazebo’. A glass-walled room with panoramic views one side, and sliding glass doors that can be opened pool-side, so you can stay cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. The gazebo is the place to entertain during your holiday. With a full length dining table, comfortable seating and WIFI, it offers a very comfortable outside area to soak up the views, share food and relax.
The outdoor kitchen is very well equipped with a fridge/freezer, oven and hob, barbecue, sink and its own dishwasher. It is perfect for barbecues on those long, warm summer evenings.
Walking past the outdoor kitchen takes you into the main villa. Your first glimpse of the indoor kitchen reassures you that everything is as good as the description! This gleaming kitchen is perfect for large groups to cook together, and very well equipped with a huge center aisle, 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, microwave, built-in coffee machine (filled with beans and ready to go), fitted deep fat fryer and indoor barbecue, fridge freezer, and drinks fridge. There is plenty of crockery, cutlery, large pots, pans, wine glasses and everything you need to cater for your family. We provide a Welcome Pack, so there is enough food for a snack and a cup of tea or coffee when you arrive, and of course a beer or glass of wine as well. The adjacent utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer.
From the kitchen you go through into the lounge, with comfortable sofas, UK and Spanish TV, Playstation3, Wii machine and DVD player. If you come in the winter the lounge is a cosy place to relax with your family.
Double doors lead off the lounge into the very generously sized dining room, with a large dining table and a library of books.
Also on the ground floor are three bedrooms; one double and two twin / triple rooms, each with en-suite bathrooms.
Going up to the first floor you will find the Master Bedroom – a lovely big room with a large king size bed, its own terrace and large patio doors giving a view over Nerja and the sea. You can lie in bed and watch the sun rise over the mountains! The Master bedroom has a large dressing room, en-suite bathroom. In the bathroom you will find a bath, shower, twin basins.
There are three other bedrooms on the first floor; a king size with a Juliette balcony and en-suite, a single or twin room, another double room and a shared bathroom. All of the bedrooms have radiators and all except the single room have air conditioning. From the first floor you can access another terrace perfect for catching the last of the sunshine on winter evenings.
There is plenty for the children (and adults!) to do at Casa Jane. There is a private full size concrete tennis court, table tennis table. We provide bats and some balls, so that you can start your holiday as soon as you arrive. There is free wi-fi at the villa.
Casa Jane can sleep up to 16 adults and 2 children plus 2 infants (in supplementary beds or cots). We have two cots, two high chairs, a potty, available so if you are travelling with little ones they will be well catered for.
The pool can be heated if required, there is an additional charge so please ask for details.
We care-take the villa and are on hand should you need anything.
Casa Jane is about 10 minutes from Torrox Pueblo where you can find bakeries, butchers, greengrocers and a small supermarket, as well as a lively plaza with bars and restaurants. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to the beach or large supermarkets at Torrox Costa and 25 minutes to drive to the beaches and shops at Nerja. Most people hire cars, but we do have a local taxi firm that will do airport transfers as well as trips to the supermarkets and beaches.
If you are coming to Casa Jane to celebrate a special occasion we can offer you a chef for the evening to cook and serve you an excellent meal at a very reasonable price. We can also offer entertainment, such as a Flamenco show for you right on the terrace, to make your day even more special.
Arriving tired from your journey? Why not have a Paella night when you arrive to get into the swing of Spanish living. Fish, meat or vegetarian paellas can be cooked for you at the villa, served with Sangria and crusty white bread.
Casa Jane is a 'Casa Rural', a holiday villa registered with the Junta de Andalucia, registration number CR/MA/624.

Amazing and relaxing holiday !
Spacious villa with well planned Gazebo to keep children out of the sun if desired. Wonderful pool, with roman type steps for entry ( great for our 2 year old)
Kitchen is so well equipped and has 2 dishwashers- so easy to prepare/cook.
Torrox Costa is beautiful and unspoilt too- we managed to leave our lovely villa to drive down to some wonderful beaches-
Bedrooms are spread out so that one adult could listen out at night time, and the others were not disturbed.
Great fun for the children having joint baths in the Jacuzzi bath.
Then peace for us in the spacious lounge area, with very comfy sofas ( not sure how many- just plenty! )
We chose to have the pool heated- so that the children could jump in and out as often as they wished- they were never cold ( certainly shrivelled though)
Sue and David met us near the villa when we arrived and we followed them up the mountain. They were most reassuring about any questions we had before the holiday, and a font of knowledge about the area, restaurants, places to visit etc. Thank you!

Top Notch Facilities; Outstanding Views
The property is superb for a large family. We were five couples with four grandchildren (all aged under 5) and capable of making a lot of noise. The villa is situated in a quiet location with a view over to Frigliana (still a 3-4 hour walk there); the sea and the mountains.
The kitchen was superbly equipped with a very good coffee machine. We ate in every evening...often with caterers. Our favourite was Denise who I highly recommend.
The hosts Sue and Dave were immensely responsive; extremely helpful and never intrusive. They were terrific inn showing the first arrivals how to get to the Villa from Torrox (the directions for getting there are excellent)
We paid for the pool to be heated and are glad we did as the children were barely out of it.
Be aware that the tennis court is not full size; the table tennis table is and is a pleasure to play on.
The only suggestion that I could make is to replace the two single mattresses in the main bedroom with a double mattress. Mind the gap...
Book it; you'll love it.

Thank you for leaving us a review. We are pleased that you enjoyed staying at Casa Jane.
The bed in the master bedroom is a large king size bed made up of two mattresses which is how it was made, we have added a king size mattress topper as well to make it feel more like a traditional king.
Nice house with great view. Loads of nice features such as outdoor kitchen with large fridge. Would have received an extra star(s) if the property had been better maintained.
A lovely property set in the hills above Nerja with wonderful views across the valley to Frigliana and down to the coast. The villa is beautifully maintained with plenty of space inside for 14 people with most bedrooms en suite and a large kitchen. Jane was an hospitable and helpful owner owner. The pool area is excellent and although we have seen larger pools it was more than adequate for 7 children and 7 boisterous adults. The only slight downsides are the lack of garden space and the precarious roads to get to the villa (although both these are due to the location and compensated for by the view). Only these minor short comings have reduced the rating of the property from 5 stars to 4. Car hire absolutely necessary.
Reibungslose Buchung.
We were a group of 8 adults and 9 children ranging from 5-14 and had a great time. The views are fantastic and the outside space is perfect. There were a couple of small items that need addressing such as a loose shower fitting and toilet that wouldn't flush but all our comments were intended to be constructive and helpful for the next visitors!
Highly recommend the private chef - not only is it amazing value for money but the paella was incredible!!

Villa in stunning situation with great facilities, but requiring much better care and maintenance
We booked Casa Jane last August for a family holiday in April 2019 for 11 people including 3 children. The deciding factors were the heated swimming pool and the tennis court.
The villa, which promised so much, failed on many counts
I requested the pool be heated. It was very expensive to heat the pool to 24ºC for a week, but we agreed to this. We arrived on 6 April - pool temp was 16ºC because the fuel had run out! Fuel arrived Monday. On Wednesday pool reached 24ºC, so we had heated pool for only 3 of 7 days!
The tennis court, was in a terrible state and dangerous to play on,- large patches missing ,rolled up edges- in complete disrepair. Only a net across the middle gave an indication of its purpose. The dangerous flooring also surrounded the tabletennis table. While we were there men ripped up the matting leaving a concrete base – still dangerous and unusable as a tennis court.
Welcome Pack not provided. Jane said “You said you were going shopping – so I didn't bother"
Jacuzzi not working.
Coffee machine not working (advert - “built-in coffee machine filled with beans and ready to go”)
Many lightbulbs not working. One fitting in kitchen had dangerous live bare wires hanging down!
Cleanliness lacking in many areas
BBQ area very dirty – grill dirty, old ashes, dirty ashtrays, sink dirty, fridge not cleaned.
Kitchen fridge not cleaned.
One bed had hairs on the sheets.
Fans thick with dust. Drawers in bedrooms unclean
Some floors unwashed and unswept
On our last day Jane asked for more than half the original sum for pool heating yet we only had 3 days at 24C. We suggested 3/7 was a fairer sum. Her manner became disagreeable and she told us “just go and pay me nothing”. Not a pleasant way to end our holiday.
Having paid a substantial amount for a luxury villa, one should not have to strip all the beds before departure and take to a collecting area as we had to do, nor transport every piece of rubbish to communal bins in Torrox, 20 minutes drive away along narrow winding roads. However, we did all these things diligently and left the house clean.
The potential of the house is amazing and the setting is spectacular, but the house needs some urgent and serious attention.
Being together with our family was the most important thing for us and still enabled us to have a wonderful holiday despite the problems detailed above. It is just a pity that a house offering so much in such a beautiful situation is not having the care it deserves.

Aucune nouvelle. .C'est triste de se quitter ainsi. I

Jane and Bobby were welcoming and helpful. The villa is beautiful and the views amazing.
The roads up to the villa are narrow and winding but it is totally worth it for the views. The villa was lovely and plenty big enough for us all. It does need a little tlc in places but we could see Jane working on this even during our stay. The kids and adults had a fabulous time and we would definitely recommend it!

Excellent facilities for large group
Facilities excellent, fantastic views, very quiet, much time enjoyed in heated pool with all ages joining in. Property clean but needs a little TLC and attention to detail required between lets. Boiler shutdown leading to luke warm showers for first day and not enough warm bedding available for cool nights. These problems soon fixed but got us off to less than perfect start to our stay. Some minor irritations which a decent check list might have highlighted, had to buy batteries for all remotes, no liners for kitchen bin, ill fitting shower doors, dangerous plug socket in bedroom, boiler pressure too low. All things which should have beeen checked before we arrived.
The minor problems did not affect our enjoyment of this fabulous property however, just don't expect it to be 100% perfect.

Great place for a relaxing week (or two)
Casa Jane is a great place for a large group to relax for a week or so. Lots of space for everyone to spread out, comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms. The scenery and view from the terrace was absolutely stunning. The villa is quite remote and trips along the path and roads to nearby Torrox and Frigiliana are not for the faint hearted - but you do get used to them very quickly. I can recommend Denise the chef who cooked for us on 2 occasions - absolutely delicious food. Sue and Dave were extremely helpful and ensured that someone was on hand in the event of any problems (not that we had any). We had a fabulous week and would definitely recommend Casa Jane.

Perfect!
I celebrated my 50th birthday with my closest relatives in the villa and it was just perfect. We were 16 people in total and everyone had plenty of space and enjoyed the stay tremendously. I recommend heating of the pool in this time of the year (it was really nice in the mornings) and also to have Denise over for a Paella meal. The villa is very well equipped and the kitchen (both inside and outside is perfect when you are a group of people). The view from the terrace is stunning. Dave and Susan was very helpful and discrete (and I’m glad that they guided us to the villa the first time :-) ).
I will recommend this highly

Fabulous Property
Lovely spacious accommodation.
Cooking facilities were first class with plenty of fridge space to keep food and drink cold and fresh for 12 people.
The villa is about a 20 min drive up in the mountain which involves driving up some very steep roads. Make sure your hire car has some oomph in it otherwise you'll be spending a lot of time driving in first gear!

Have a luxurious holiday
This is a stunning villa.
We arrived at night - Dave & Sue met & guided us in, and although we thought we'd never find our way to the villa on our own the next day, we soon got used to the trip down to the main road.
The first room we saw was the kitchen - which elicited a "Wow" from everyone! All the bedrooms were a good size (we had the master with the Jacuzzi) the beds were comfy & the place was immaculately clean. In fact all the rooms were good - I can't fault this villa at all.
The next morning we were stunned by the view - it's absolutely gorgeous. Nerja, Frigilliana & Ronda are all good places to visit. The nearest supermarket in Torrox is around 20 mins away. As a party of 11 friends, we spent most evenings at the villa - the gazebo/conservatory is a great place to socialise and meant no one had to drive back from town.
Customer service is fab - Dave & Sue took care of us throughout the holiday and cooked us a lovely paella on the last night - above & beyond the call of duty! We also had a meal cooked in situ by Denise, which was wonderful.
I would heartily recommend this villa and look forward to returning again at some point in the future.

Great house, everything is stunning = breathtaking
English: Everything about this house and location is true! Try watch the sunrise from the pool, it's a stunning view. Great house, perfect for 14 people. Great kitchen, great diningarea, etc. The only regret we have, is that we didn't booked it for two weeks. We can strongly recommend this house to others!

About the host
Hosted by Jane Roberts
My name is Jane, I live alone with my 2 dogs and cat. I am retired and now spend my time hosting Casa Jane. I am also an Artist and freelance photographer. Rest assured I will go my way to make your vacation run smoothly. I live on-site in an apartment below the villa, so I am always on hand when you need me. I look forward to hosting you soon
Why they chose this property
We love the location of Casa Jane because of the peace & tranquility in the hills above the coast. Across the valley, nestled against the backdrop of the National Park, you can see the white village of Frigiliana. A 20 minute drive (with picturesque views) and you will be wandering its narrow cobbled streets & relaxing in one of the many bars, cafes and restaurants. From Casa Jane it is a 10 minute drive into Torrox Pueblo, then a further 5 minutes down to Torrox Costa where you will find all the amenities you need; supermarkets (even a Lidl) doctors, a weekly market & the bus station. There is a long seafront with bars & restaurants. Drive along the coastal road and there are quiet sandy coves to stop off at, or continue into Nerja, a lively seaside town, for sandy beaches and activities. Casa Jane is a 'Casa Rural', a holiday villa registered with the Junta de Andalucia, registration number 2014MA000235.
What makes this property unique
Casa Jane is a large, spacious house with lots of room for socialising. We like to make sure that the kitchen is well equipped so that large groups and families can cook and eat together. There are 2 ovens, a microwave, fridge/freezer, drinks fridge, 2 dishwashers, fitted deep fat fryer and indoor barbecue, and built in coffee machine. There are large saucepans and baking trays as well as plenty of cutlery, crockery, and all the things you need. We supply a generous welcome pack to get you settled in. The outside kitchen has a barbecue, fridge/freezer, oven and hob and sink, as well as its own dishwasher. The ‘gazebo’ is a fantastic building with panoramic views through the glass windows. These can be folded back in the summer so that the space opens onto the terrace and pool. It has a dining table and sofas, and UK TV. The pool is 10m x 5m with Roman style steps at one end. The pool can be heated if required (extra charge, please ask for details) At Casa Jane you also have a private full size tennis court, with a table tennis table and a basketball hoop, so there is lots for everyone to do. The location gives stunning views but also a feeling of peace and tranquillity, a superb place to get away from the world. We are on hand to help at any time if you need us, any time of day, so you can relax and enjoy your holiday.
