Luxury Chalet Morzine with panoramic views, 5 ensuite bedrooms and large hot tub

Chalet de Soie has been extensively renovated and modernised. Newly installed on the outside is a 7ft wide and 4ft deep Canadian Cedar wood electric heated hot tub to help soothe tired muscles and enjoy a sundowner drink. Full of light and soft simplicity, great care and thought has been taken by the owners to make you feel comfortable and welcome. In the generous open plan living/dining room, plush sofas are warmed by the glow of a wood burning stove, and a huge glass wall offers stunning panoramic views where you can gaze down the valley, up the peaks and over the jutting resort rooftops. Framed by a forested valley and mountainous horizon, a wraparound balcony lets you drink in the sunlight. The charming modern kitchen boasts top of the range appliances, including a boiling water tap, double Miele ovens and a dual zone wine fridge. There is also a top of the range entertainment system which includes a Sonos sound system and Apple TV. The long handmade table is perfect for fabulous convivial family dining, and a warm happy atmosphere.

Amazing House

Lovely house with a well equipped and big kitchen. All bedrooms had their own bathroom, everything very modern and clean. We were 9p age 12-52 and truly enjoyed our stay. Darren the host has been most friendly and helpful. We consider to come back!A car to take you to the slopes helps a lot, we went most of the days to Ardent or to Les Gets.

Beau chalet en plein coeur de Morzine

Beau et spacieux chalet dans lequel nous avons partagé d'agreables moments. Très fonctionnel et très bien équipé. Superbe vue de la terrasse (petite, il nous a toutefois manqué un espace pour manger dehors en famille). Excellent contact avec le propriétaire, très disponible et très bienveillant! Il faut enfin savoir que Morzine est une station très fréquentée avec un flot de circulation important (nous avons manqué un peu de calme la nuit, fenêtres ouvertes).

Just awesome !

We had a fantastic stay at Le Chalet de Soie. Not only was the weather great and the hikes excellent, but Darren's truly luxury Chalet was just perfect. The interior design, amenities (beyond standard expectations), top quality appliances, multimedia equipment, supplies. Darren was very responsive and helpful. Very highly recommended (for the summer but I guess it's as great for the winter)

A wonderful property

Very comfortable stay

We very much enjoyed our stay in this very tasteful and fully equipped chalet. The owners have visibly put a lot of thought into creating an aesthetic and inviting space full of comforts and convenience. Kitchens and bathrooms are of a high standard and the entertainment systems are well thought through and make for a pleasant atmosphere. Distance to the slopes is about ten minutes and a comfortable drive away.

I cannot recommend the property or the service more. The chalet itself is stunning, beautifully finished and furnished to the highest level. Darren, the owner, could not be more helpful. I have honestly never received such excellent communication and attentiveness. Great Chalet Great Week!

The strength of the reviews drew us to this chalet and it did not disappoint. We booked rather late in the day and were a little concerned about its slightly out of town position but this turned out to be no problem at all, in fact quite the opposite. The centre of Morzine is only a ten to fifteen minute walk away and the chalet is positioned right on the free bus route. This allowed us to get into town (for access to Morzine/Les Gets) or to get onto a connecting service up the valley to the Prodains Express telecabine up to Avoriaz. Similarly, taking the bus service from outside the chalet in the opposite direction takes you to the Ardent telecabine and straight up to the Les Lindarets area, another way to access the Avoriaz and Swiss areas. These are all short bus trips but there is also plenty of off street parking should you wish to bring a car. The chalet was cosy and beautifully presented with a very modern kitchen, log burner, boot room with washer/dryer, Apple TV, Sonos sound system and great views from the balcony to name but a few of the main attributes. En suites in every room was also a welcome feature. There were three young children in our group and they loved the chalet. There were high chairs and cots provided, a basket of toys and the balcony areas were all made safe. We opted to get external catering into the chalet, with some of the party preferring to eat in every night and others wanting half in and half out at local restaurants. Darren was really helpful with suggestions and I could not recommend Kayleigh Mackenzie more highly. The menu was varied and delicious and she was incredibly flexible in fitting around our preferences. Truly fantastic. Most notably, Darren was very supportive right from the first contact, keeping in regular phone contact to answer questions about local facilities, transport, restaurants (on and off the slopes), crèche and babysitter options, equipment hire and all the things you feel more comfortable about knowing before you travel. He never failed to get back to us really quickly with all the information we requested. As well as the chalet you also get an attentive local expert! We had an amazing week in Chalet de Soie. The only thing left to chance was the snow.

Amazing Chalet in beautiful location!

We absolutely loved everything about Chalet de Soie. We loved returning after a day of skiing to sit in front of the fire in the cosy living room...every window you looked out of had such amazing views. Such good facilities for groups (we were 9), with an added bonus of individual bathrooms for each bedroom. We are back less than a week and have already started to plan our next visit. A perfect summer break for all the family!

This was our second stay at Chalet de Soie and once again we had a perfect summer break in this stunning chalet with equally stunning views. Stylish, chic and luxurious, everything we could have needed was catered for at Chalet de Soie - and the beds are the most comfortable beds away from home we've ever found! Location wise, it is ideal. A tranquil and peaceful setting but only a short walk into the lively and bustling town of Morzine. In terms of activities to enjoy as a family, we were spoilt for choice and discovered something new every day. There's Lac des Mines d'Or a short drive away - breathtaking lake views and great for a stroll around and a paddle and splash with little ones. We then enjoyed a delightful lunch overlooking the mountains nearby. Five minutes from the chalet is a wonderful river walk, with a playground, horse riding and Parkour. Located very close by is an outdoor swimming pool with a children's pool and slides. Don't forget to pack your Speedos! A real highlight was our trip to Lake Geneva, a sandy beach with shallow fresh water swimming and a very reasonably priced restaurant on the beach. We loved our lunch of delicious pizza and moules frites with a glass of rosé whilst overlooking the lake and mountains. Our little boy went on his first pedalo ride here - complete with slide! Another highlight has to be Goat Village, where you can feed the goats as they wander freely before enjoying another picturesque lunch, again overlooking the mountains. Meanwhile, back at the chalet, we spent some lovely afternoons on the newly built terrace, soaking up the views before heading to the balcony for BBQ fun as the sun set. The owners Katya and Darren have clearly spent a lot of time and effort researching the area and are full of helpful recommendations and ideas on how to spend your time here. We can't wait to go back!

Wonderful chalet in Morzine.

We stayed for a week in March 2016 and had a brilliant time. The chalet is of exceptional standard - the layout, design and structure is of the highest quality, and plenty of room for all. 10 adults stayed for the week and we had excellent service from the owners - from information and advice on how to get to the lifts, where to go for dinner, where to shop, where to collect our ski equipment. Service was second to none, highly recommend this chalet!

A superb summer break

A superb family holiday at Chalet de Soie. The chalet is spotless with every modcon you desire (instant boiling water and Sonos our favourites)yet still with a warm and traditional feel - the beds are fabulous. Just a short stroll to numerous bars, restaurants and the cable cars. So much to do in Summer in and around Morzine so this place is fabulous for families. Katiya/Darren offer so much in the way of invaluable advice as to where to visit/eat /drink which saved so much time and we were never disappointed. Highly Recommend.

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! The Chalet is beyond perfect. It has everything that you would ever need to have a pure luxurious holiday -plus more added extra's that you would never think of finding in a rental property. Darren and Katya were so helpful in every aspect of planning and booking our trip. They have put their heart and souls into the renovation of the chalet and the results are STUNNING! The décor has been carefully chosen to create the perfect warm and welcoming atmosphere of a traditional chalet, yet it has a very modern chic feel about it. The colors are all very soothing creating a sense of pure serenity. The blankets and other textiles are made and chosen with an extremely high standard in mind, as are all the appliances... no penny pinching here! Darren and Katya have cleverly designed the chalet to suit any group- adults only, or families with children of ALL ages. The chalet offers something for everyone. Our favorite part of the chalet was the gorgeous hand made giant dinning table. It was our "center hub" every night where we spent hours eating, drinking, chatting and playing games. The open plan living/dining area is an ideal set up for families with kids of different ages- everyone is happy in 1 large room. The kids also loved the "bunk room" with the playstation. A fantastic idea to provide kids with an additional separate play space. Prior to our arrival, Katya took great care in making sure that we had links to ski school companies to book lessons, knew where to rent equipment (with a chalet discount given), what restaurants to go to with kids and without, where the best markets were, and even sent a list of transfer companies and bus maps/routs to help us plan on making the most of the area... so helpful! It saved me a lot of time. The manager of the chalet is named Charlie. We refer to her as our snow angel. She welcomed us in late at night, and completely looked after us for the whole week- on call 24/7. She is a local who knows just about everything about the area. She even drove us to the market for our first big shop, and continued to check in on our supplies for the remainder of the week by asking if we needed to stock up on anything while she was out running her own errands... extremely helpful considering we had 5 adults, with 5 children and no car for the week. Thank you Darren, Katya, and Charlie for helping us make some truly MAGICAL family memories. We look forward to returning next year! Cheers!

We are Darren and Katya, the owners of Chalet de Soie. We live in London with are two young boys. We weren't expecting to buy a property in France but we saw the chalet and fell completely in love with it quite literally at first sight. And life went off unexpectedly into a different direction from that moment. The original owner used the top floor as a silk painting studio, and it had been used and loved for innumerable family holidays over the years. We completely renovated and modernised it from top to bottom, so it could continue to be enjoyed for many years to come.

Why they chose this property

We have always loved Morzine, which is part of the biggest ski area in Europe. We've skied here for many years, watched friends get married here, and fall in love with it all over again every time we visit. We can get from our London home to the chalet door in 5 hours (it's just one hour's drive from Geneva). The town sprawls along both sides of a river gorge, which our chalet overlooks. It is an attractive and charming chalet-style town, with plenty to do for all members of the family. We enjoy it just as much in summer as in winter, and every time we visit we discover more and more things to do here. And if skiing isn't for you, then the swimming pools, ice rink, fitness centre, and cinemas might appeal, in addition to plenty of hiking, snowshoeing, paragliding or tobogganing.

What makes this property unique

Chalet de Soie is a 10 minute walk from the centre of Morzine with its delicious restaurants and lively bars. The chalet is also a 10 minutes easy walk to the nearest lift or if you're feeling lazy, 50 metres from the free bus route, accessing 650km of exceptional skiing in France and Switzerland. When we renovated the building, we made sure it ticked all the boxes in terms of facilities and home comforts that we always look out for when we rent a holiday property. It had to have all the standard modern conveniences, some fun additional ones, as well as home-from-home charm and comfort. We also wanted to make the most of the wonderful view - so we turned the front of the property almost entirely into glass on all floors, letting in all that lovely light and the mountain views.
