Large seaside cottage with spacious garden, in a quiet area close to beach.
Nestled in the heart of the village of Manorbier, the property has a large private garden, contained within the grounds of the Old Vicarage. Set back from the road down a private driveway, just a short walk from Manorbier beach and the coastal path. Built in 1815 and originally housing the carriages and horses as stables to The Old Vicarage, with stone quarried locally and taken to be dressed by the monks of Caldey Island. Five bedrooms; three upstairs and two downstairs in a separate wing, ideal for two groups coming together or a family wanting plenty of space. The downstairs bedrooms and bathroom are perfect for those who would prefer not to use stairs. We have focused on creating spaces which all the guests can enjoy together, and capturing a relaxed coastal feel. Manorbier, described by the Guardian as "The Perfect Seaside Village", has everything you need: a well stocked shop, post office, great pub, tea rooms, Norman castle and church, 4 beaches within walking distance, fantastic surf, rock pools, and of course a large stretch of sand for those just wishing to sunbathe. Tenby, with its famed Georgian architecture, beautiful beaches and Wales' oldest golf course, is just 7 minutes drive east. A short drive to the west you will find Bosherston lily ponds, Broadhaven and Barafundle...and much more. We aim to make your holiday as relaxing as possible. Would you like a catered meal delivered one evening? Would you like a recommendation on where to eat locally? We have a barbecue which is ideal for those summer evenings. We cater for all ages - we have a travel cot and two high chairs, plus a stair gate. We also have elephant feet so sofas can be raised up, a grab rail in the downstairs shower and a shower stool. The cottage is ideal for those with mobility issues as there are two bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs, and access onto the garden from the sitting room and bedroom too. We live next door so we are on hand if you need anything. Guests love the garden as it is south west facing (the sunsets are spectacular) and spacious enough for children and dogs to run around - don't forget to bring your croquet set and badminton net which plenty of our regular guests like to bring on holiday with them. There is parking outside for three cars. The local shop is less than 2 minutes walk away and they are very well stocked, also it is possible to organise a delivery with your usual supermarket. The local pub has live music and quiz nights, plus great food and a sunny beer garden (or cosy up by the log burner inside in the winter). There is also a take away service and the local hotel has fine dining with views over the bay.
Unfortunately guests are prohibited from using a domestic socket for charging their electric vehicles due to insurance, however there is a charging point within walking distance - at the beach car park, or at the Giraldus Hall.

We have stayed at numerous properties over our 44 years of walking holidays in Wales, Scotland, Ireland and abroad and THIS HOUSE has been the best! Clean, well equipped, great garden, wonderful location and the host Kate made us all so welcome.
A lovely, clean house. Shop very close by and a short walk to the castle and beach. We were a group of 10 adults, we loved the house and a great location for a wedding we attended at manorbier castle
We stayed here with our son, daughter, son in law and grand daughter. We all had a brilliant time, the house is warm, comfortable, clean and well equipped, with lots of space for us all. We found it easy to walk from the house to the beach and along the coast path. Manorbier is a pretty village, and the beach is lovely, there's a village shop a couple of minutes walk from the house and a nice friendly pub about five minutes walk away. All in all it was perfect for our family holiday.
Very good property that met our needs spot on. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The garden was excellent for children playing safely and a great size.
We had a lovely peaceful stay in this spacious property. The gardens are stunning. The owner lives next door and was really helpful and approachable when we had queries. Would definitely recommend!
Lovely week away. Kate was a joy, perfect host so its a 10 from us. Lovely house in a fab spot. Good shop around the corner and the beach a small walk away.

The property was lovely and wasequiped with everything you could want during a holiday. The location was great, nice and quiet with glorious beaches nearby.
We were celebrating our diamond wedding anniversary -having honeymooned in Manorbier 60 years ago.
Mews cottage was perfect high class accommodation for a family celebration.
We loved the property it was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, well stocked, perfect for an extended family break altogether. The layout of the house was ideal for us, having so much space and bedrooms on different floors. The location was great being able to walk to the beautiful beach with children of mixed ages and a dog easily. We would love to stay again .
This is an excellent place to stay. Clean comfortable very well equipped.
The house is within walking distance of pub/restaurant; café ; convenience store; beach.
Lots of local walks and Tenby very near by car.
Could not ask for a better base or more helpful owner.
Would recommend to everyone and would not hesitate to book again for a family holiday

Thank you so much George! The pleasure was all ours, we hope you come back again soon.
Spacious accommodation for a large group even though there were only 5 of us! Very well equipped, lovely garden for dogs (and people) and close proximity to beaches, castles and Tenby for restaurants. Super communication with Kate the owner. Would highly recommend this lovely cottage.
A wonderful spacious property, very well equipped and clean with a beautiful garden. Manorbier is a lovely village and a great base for exploring the area with fantastic beaches nearby.
Cottage was as we hoped, lovely and very clean. Kate our host met us as soon as we arrived and was very welcoming, communication was perfect and was a great start to our short break. The location was perfect for us, a short walk to the local shop and pub where the food was great, possibly the best fish and chips I’ve ever had in a pub. Tenby and Pembroke are only a short drive away.I have nothing negative to say!
We had a great weekend here for my mums 60th birthday with our family. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. the beds were comfortable and had proper duvets. Kate was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. thanks so much

Just perfect for a family get together. Fab house with all you need in a great locations.
Home from home with everything you may need for a comfortable relaxing stay. Plenty of room for everyone. Beds so comfy we all slept well after exploring the stunning Pembrokeshire beaches. Lovely for the whole family to either sit around dining table or in lounge in front of log fire to chat about the day and reminisce . Garden was lovely too and we all plan on a return visit in the summer. Location too was perfect for the village and exploring.

About the host
Hosted by Kate Blackwell
We have lived in the next door Old Vicarage for 18 years, and are so glad we returned to Pembrokeshire after a decade in London. We ran a holiday let in a self contained annexe of our home, The Old Vicarage, until we knocked through and made the most of the south west facing garden. We had many happy guests and wanted to continue letting our new property as a holiday cottage. We have now had 11 years letting Mews Cottage, and we are delighted with how popular it has been, and how such a high proportion of our guests rebook, many before they leave! We hope that people return year after year and feel it's a home away from home. We love living in Manorbier, with its rich history, and wonderful beaches. We have brought our children up here, learning how to surf (we can often be seen walking down the road with our surfboards) The thing we love most is being able to walk out of the door and choose 4 beaches within 20 minutes walk, or walk along the coastal path to Tenby before hopping on the bus to come home. The bus stop is at the end of the driveway. We also really enjoy the Castle Inn pub, with live music most weekends, quiz night on a Sunday, and excellent fresh food. There are several options for eating out, with the hotel, castle and tea rooms all serving food. But best of all, we love sitting in the south west facing garden, watching the sunset. Mews Cottage is next door, with a sheltered private garden, and lovely views.
Why they chose this property
We have lived next door in The Old Vicarage for 18 years and we were delighted to be able to buy the neighbouring cottage in November 2013. It is wonderful to reunite the two buildings as Mews Cottage used to be the stables for what was the Vicarage, when they were built over 200 years ago. The stone for The Vicarage was quarried in Lydstep, dressed by Caldey monks and then brought to Manorbier. The stables were converted into a cottage in the 1970's. Mews Cottage has a private garden which is surrounded by the Old Vicarage garden and fields owned by the church.
What makes this property unique
Nearly all of our guests include 3 generations. Mews Cottage is the perfect space to be enjoyed by all ages. The sunny south facing garden and the summer house are ideal for parents to sit in and relax while the children can play. The barbecue is proving very popular, and there's a sense of peace whilst still being so close to all the amenities in the village and of course the beach. Many guests comment on the refectory table and seating in the dining room. From Christmas dinner, to family meals and poker games, the dining room accommodates 12 comfortably. The kitchen is very well equipped and spacious. Most of all, the guests say that after a day on the beach or a coastal path walk, they feel at home in Mews Cottage and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, and peace and quiet.
